Okay. All right. The minutes have been approved. The next item festival 2023; update on board of appeals actions none; corrective actions none. [discussion and possible action item]. Thank you president caminong um, im remotely in this evening so thank you for bearing with me own this im home not feeling so well, thank you for the option and thanks to the other commissioners as well. I wanted to take my directors report. Item this evening to provide you all with a report back regarding the portola Music Festival 2023 the team behind make significant improvements with the security plan to better manage crowds and ingress and egress from last year and the possible changes so before i get into the changes and discuss the improvement for this year i wanted to provide data around my medical Security Issues that came up. So letting you know that saturday they had around three one through attendees. And on sunday they have this though attendees were happy to report no significant medical or security events throughout the weekend and only 5 medical transports and none of them were critical. Um, and then um, that was offer saturday and on sunday only two just classifications so all in all that is a good data point regarding medical and security concerns. So i want to just focus on the energy to highlight some of the changes we witnessed this year. As you know, we brought this permit application to the commission earlier this year. And the commission and staff worked diligently to recommend improvements to the plan golden boys with the planning on gotten voice requiring periods of time in the field of management to assist with the configuration of stages and amplifiers to direct sound away from the sensors and tact the sound in realtime as well as plaza sound meter in four key locations within San Francisco and ocala medicine neighborhoods impacted last year so those mediations were able to measure the amount bins sound and measuring sound in r5e789 throughout the duration of that weekend the realtime measurements showed any impacts for the sound levels at the four locations related to the those reported and sound data that was cleblgd as both locations for the 5 days. And i cant imagine folks like myself Deputy Director and Senior Inspector were around this sound management that the fell off 4. We spent a half day on friday to see the changes they 4 made from the Previous Year and to be there to see the sound checks. We were able to meet inperson with the team as they prepared forever the with only weekend that team doesnt exist last year and a set of hired staff that we are having and they were there to speak with complainants in realtime regarding issues they were xernsz and what was very valuable this year was the fact that those um, call takers were sitting in the same trailer as the sound Management Team and able to field those complaints in realtime and then be able to make changes in realtime by communicating with the staff that actually that managed the sound we looked at the level data and measuring up to the festival and the plans that not only monitor all 5 of the meters throughout the weekend how they will in turn work with the staff wanted to note for all of you the staff worked with three 11 to educate the represents about the complaint hotline the 411 website had a banner for those to utilize the hotline and our staff worked with the boys that was measured how it sound board at the main stage it was consist with out door events we had them produce the sound didnt impact the ambiance where the surrounded meters were located in San Francisco and alameda so for the compliance of limit the festival position that had the stationary sound meters was a constant motoring and remotely in the trailer where the call center was located after that visit on fridayy visited multiplegenerational times during the festival on saturday and sunday Charter Review Committee about the complaints and the inspections had checks throughout the weekend three on saturday and three on sunday and the festival vacuum was compliant with the sound but no of saturday was a successful day in regards to the complaints the festival had 17 complaints directly 16 from the city and one in alameda our office had three 11 complaint following from the city and on sunday, however, was a change in the weather pattern winds and fog not personality on saturday the festival worked to operate at a lower level because of the weather. From the limit they were operating at on saturday to insure the compliance but try to mitigate against the weather pattern, however, from alameda came in large numbers for the last 4 hours on sunday and announcing to one hundred and 80 calls and alzheimers e emails were fielded and complaints directly to the Entertainment Commission either in realtime or some came in after the fact i will not have the one hundred and only 4 are contributed to the san franciscans were planning to executive with the city of alameda in the coming days and know that the organizers have communicating with the city of alameda and regardless of the complaint i really believe that we work hard to make sure that the residents and Alameda County this past weekend and prior to that monitored their impact on the community and to make sure they were in compliance. With their limit both our sfouft and for Alameda County bans their data hoping by measuring the festivities throughout the weekend. So we are working with golden boys to follow up with those who reached out to us and follow up with all of you for further information regarding the conversations with alameda by the city of alameda and to provide any further information we might receive specifically regarding my media logistical data hard word on sunsetted and impacted the sound for Alameda County im going to pause i have a couple of tiny updates after that but see if you have any questions. Didnt look like any comments or question you may continue. Thank you president caminong beyond that i want to let you know that we didnt receive in the field a finding determining a reproduce of place of entertainment for strada in three 10 day period that ended last night for strada remains ill be out of country from october 14th to o to november 2nd and missing the next october hearing but, but youre in good hands with the director as i said. Thats it. Thank you direction any questions or comments . No, thank you for the evaluated update own this portola Music Festival 2023 i and get to toll any friend about it but dont job so far. Thats good. I feel pleased with the saturday data that is dont the sunday evening that was 4 hours they were having a hard time in realtime hoping they can continue to improve year over year if though choose to continue operating the festival. It does bring up like a college ethical quiz i live own an island next to a major city and joy the benefits of living next to a big city and it came back disturb you i dont have an answer but brings up an ethics question we had to discuss in college. Thats basically all you are conversations is it not. laughter. different there is many islands in the state of california that one happens to be next to to but not part of San Francisco that comes with benefits and down side as well still like San Francisco. All right. Thank you. Any Public Comment on the report from the executive director . No Public Comment for this item. Thank you Public Comment is closed. He next item inspector Senior InspectorAndrew Zverina reports on recent enforcement activities. [discussion and possible action item] thank you, president caminong. Good evening we have received one hundred and three i have two updates any first is about the voice located on grant street on december 16th at 10 30 inspectors respond to a three 11 complaint the inspectors learned that was closed by the sound measurement was operating in three 1 dba over the allowable sound limit and issued a sound citation we have an ongoing ladies and gentlemen, and Previous Solutions bib like those signs leverage have been apparent there is within enhance they cant cover and in compliance and working with the management to discover the sound in compliant and the final is about strada ocean avenue, you know. You voted to revoke the po e on september 19th and the inspector did a compliance check. As i reminder they in the morning have to abide by and security plan but observed two mall male and one female Security Guard and patrons wondering into the club in inside no attempt if you have in any questions. Thank you. Its a question about trinity. It is showing up a fair amount in the enforcement report and again, seems like things are a little bit bumpy there. Trinity has been called back to a hearing today. And so were doing a couple of things working with them theyre trying to get a sound limit for the upstairs and complaints for a patio space that was part as we described last week that was not part of their presentation the last time they came to a hearing and yeah. And i they wanted to use that event space as we visited they claim they dont have control over that space even though they have private parties were to within the next week is set a sound limit after the hearing today. And were going to try to figure out how we can take measurement from the september take care now all the buildings are basically connected an interesting space. But we are going to do you are best measure not from the front of business but the protocol to use that to work the space and agreed that they are only using a small speaker and generally, the impact will be low thats the current plan for the trinity. Okay. Thank you. And you will hearing them later theyre agendized last tonight. Okay. Any other questions or comments . Okay. Lets take Public Comment on this item. No Public Comment for this item. Okay. Public comment is closed. The next entertainment and requesting extended duration per article 15. 1 of the police code bos file no. 210285 . [discussion and possible action item] thank you, president caminong. I will be giving the update to you all this evening calling attention to item we are placed in there the previous draft of this criteria from december 2021 as well as for the property of drafts criteria that were proposing changes for this evening. So this item again is an attempt to the criteria where youre permitting ability one one time event with a spent duration as you recall the Commission First approved this in december 2021 and reality based on a change that helped the commission to actually permit more than 12 oneonone one time events at any given location in a calendar year that is building off of so you might ask which is causing the amendment to the attempt background we want to let you, you know, expiration of the jam permit grass period on september 22nd end the end of pandemic version of shared Space Program as we knew it the city has a pretty large backlog and lots of things with chairs and table permit application for those who wanted to make their paemdz haired spaces permanent can take many months for the agencies to permit the use of space that leaves the Entertainment Commission with 1 hundred and 40 businesses in limbo cant apply for the brickandmortar permit with the dope director they dont get the permits to use the sidewalk that is a bit unfortunate bank of america been doing everything we can to prepare our staff and our system and protocols to support this transition period you know what our permit applications are online both for the customer as well as the back End Experience for staff. However, we them as though we Found Solutions to this this amendment is to help solve this problem. So essentially were supported the goals to help the businesses make a jam to transition and interim period sustains their entertainment and helps the artists and support culture vibrancy of our San Francisco neighborhoods. So specifically outlining for you all this amendment will allow jam permits hosted treatment or outdoor am fy22 sound to transfer their information to a new one time olney event permit with extended duration as long as they have received traditional are final approval for the permit use of their outdoor parklet or sidewalk from the land use jurisdiction and as long as the property approval were in good standing. Those permit holders will be required to full out a transfer survey we dont want to them to fill out a permit application since they did that and abide by the conditions of previously issued jam permit before we process the transfer. We of the it will allow me as is director or designated staff to issue the one time permit and administratively instead creating further backlog to come tow your hearing essentially we want them to focus on the approvals and come to our hearings later on when we are able to actually mitigate one of our brickandmortar permit not allowing changes again to the jam permits time space and manner conditions so if necrseeking to amend this process not be considered something we can approve modification will have to remain the same in the transfer but can k457bd at a hearing when issuing reviewing brickandmortar and the permits to be valid for up to three hundred and 65 days or an Entertainment Permit as a part of amendment will create a way for me and director to administratively approve an amendment for is a one time infringement that was previously approved by the commission that will give the applicant the responsibility to add extend or change the event hours and or location but only allowed on the condition they have meaningful outreach for neighborhood 10 days in advance of the changes to occur the the long and short of it. We will document relevant to the work in our folder and well be taking a vote on this if youre prepared to do so i want to give you the opportunity to ask any question and we can, of course, discuss. Thank you director commissioners any questions . Regarding jam to one time with stoentd hours criteria . Thank you for managing all of that i know its been ill not call that a mess by yeah i appreciate the time and Emergency Energy so, thank you. I think that is elegant and helps both Small Businesses not stuck in a bureaucratic position and lose our staff to have the authority to make decisions and not mucked up by the Commission Im supportive of this. Through not part of the draft criteria ment for our review i want to highlight were working to find a solution so that the um, transfers are not required to pay a permit application fee from us, we building that may require legislation i want to give you you a headsup we plan to include that within the legislation that we updated you all on to last hearing that is still set to go to committee in the next month so were hoping to include it in that we can essentially reciprocating wave any application fees we feel that is burdensome especially were focusing on brickandmortar permits and not anticipating a windfall of revenue from Something Like that. And were trying to make that as easy as possible for staff so that we dont need to worry about cost recovery. Thank you lets go to Public Comment. I applaud the legislation consistent with supervisors legislation which waves the parklet fees for the year 24 provided you get approved by june of 24 i worked with quite a few a pack lets a long drawn out process some have in the last phase of notification so theirs 4r50u7b8 but icing for the delays you have to stay with that and in the process and a longdrawnout process this kind of new of the transition from shared spaces to permanent spaces have to be waived by dpw and mta and Fire Department it is quite a few people looking at everything to make sure everything is continue the that and not budgeted on flexibility thats it 7 by 20 and have to find holes but obstruction close proximityist to the curve has to be compliant. I think the spirit to save our businesses but people were building them out and shift to a permanent because the rules are strict and have to follow the guidelines and a lot of revisions so a lot of back and forth but i think were getting close to the end and optimistic i think the music will be a great enhancement but beige to transition i applaud you for doing that that is good legislation. Okay. No more Public Comment for this item. Thank you. Do i hear a motion . Move to approve the changes. Second. Okay. Lets get a vote. President caminong, aye. Vice president bleiman, aye. Applies and communities of color and queer and nonprofit workers and artist and animal lovers and newcomers to the city and pretty much everyone in between i should for el rio your dive and a lot of they have been there longer than than me an honor and privilege to help run this property and lastly, just huge thank you to all you on the commission to help get our permits modernized we appreciated all you do for night life and thank you for helping. I just want to echo that i went there when i was 23 with my friend mark a little band placed there and mark threw a lemon in a tree and hit me in the face one of the negative categories. One of the most amazing places of town and why i moved to San Francisco and this place is incredible thank you for decades of work youve done to make that place awesome. I wanted to echo my colleagues thoughts el rio your dive very special to me as well. How special steven laughter and want to share . laughter well, i did have the pleasure of working there a very long time ago as a a queer person of color in San Francisco thats where i met my chosen family. Hi, thank you for coming yeah. I spent many times at el rio your dive a great placed open growing up at peer and hang out with dance thank you for offering and keeping the space clear for everyone to enjoy. Thank you. Okay. That was a masterpiece. My side hustle i will have a good power point but as a legacy business we applaud you for lgbtq to make sure that continues to be home for everyone thank you. Why not have a seat open up to Public Comment. Okay. Good evening one person with their hand raised on zoom. Carol hill if you can hear me, please unmute yourself and limited to 3 minutes per speaker a im unmuted. Good evening commissioners. President caminong laughter it great to be here im great to talk about el rio your dive. I do an event there ever month and my event is 27 years old will be 27 in the 28 of october and all i can tell you i echo el rio your dive is a special place we have had in my capacity as a prompter weve done an event every month and for 27 years including through the pandemic we need the something called a taste of this because we can only have 5 people but the idea able to keep a place for let me see and afterwards for people to come back to socialize and mango is the oddity in the country i dont have the data for that but it is 27 years old and have not nobody has said theyve seen us so it is a place in San Francisco it is mostly generated a lot of people coming up to me and at 22 telling me their moms used to come to el rio your dive so mostly generational and in any capability of an educator i bring several groups to el rio your dive it the patio any time with an event and the community thinks that the original promoters we couldnt think a better place for a in memoriam service it is a super special place and lynn is a super special owner to, you know. We saw sharing montage but mango would note be mann communitybased without that back patio and echo what everyone said and flu support this change of modification has to be complete and the highest support for that. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, dr. Youre welcome. All right. Others. Other comments. No more Public Comment for this item. Okay. Public comment is closed. Do i hear a motion . Hi move to approve of this item. Segmented. Oh, im sorry someone just raised their hand. After we closed it. Yeah. If we closed it they cant speak sorry caller we just closed Public Comment we cant hear you sorry keep going. I second. Okay. Lets have a vote, please. Okay. President caminong, aye. Vice president bleiman, aye. And commissioner falzon, aye. Commissioner perez, aye. Commissioner thomas, aye. Commissioner torres, aye. Okay. Your employment u permit is continuing grand follow for the next steps and congratulations. The next item on the agenda the next item on the agenda trinity, located at 1851 union st, regarding ongoing enforcement action sat the business. [discussion and possible action item] okay. Deputy director please introduce this permit. Thank you president caminong. At the request of the commission this was agendize for the trinity before the commission to ask you ongoing violations of business trinity received conditional approval for the business and to clarify the hosting to the new location in their upstairs private entrance as you recall trinity had a sidewalk to fix their doors downstairs to open outward and conditioning approve the llc protect permit the Business Owners met hurdles and they cabin the repairs are you but not issued their llp permit i wrote this reporter 15 complaints and reports. Of the 15 complaints inspectors had 5 times substantiated the complaint i like to note of 15 complaint many came in on the same day and the calls and emails is from one neighbor. As you recall for the hearing on september 9th inspector responded to a complaint and observed a dj performing for a private party and the owner said the permit yet required the dj was not a dj and didnt have control because of a private event and documented the dj and upon my review i cant say he was a dj and another point during the visit the private room with the event where the event was a open air patio outdoor and the doors were open during the dj performances they have live or prerecorded causes the music to funnel out of rear to the rear neighbors and cause a disruption and more importantly the patio is not part of application or is information presented to you when they came to the hearings in august and on september 9th i issued a citation and director issued a final notice and in the notice advised the business cant have direct music from the Planning Department recommendation for the an llc permit fortunately unfortunately, they have another event and more complaints i had a phone conversation with one of the owners and talked about the regulations about their operation by the understand what is go on this agenda item is a discussion and possible action in which the commission has the ability for they training the permit we didnt see a specific application at that time we want to remind the appearance of following the rules and assurance insuring to their permit conditions and keeping their patio doors closed. In addition, we or are recommending you are ask the owners to declare the type events and they mentioned they have artists playing on a piano but their application listed live djs it would be do to have them condition their permit and owner application in our file tonight and here to speak with you on zoom are the owners i can im available for questions. If you do. So next there we go. Please accept. I dont know why theyre not here in inperson and i believe that johnny is traveling and nick indicated hes working solo they bar tonight. Nick and johnny you should turn own your cameras and microphones if you can. Is it on. There we go there we go yeah. So hi through can you hear me . Yes we can hear you. Hi sorry. Um, i dont know if johnny is unmuted. Theres johnny. Yeah. We ill apologize we cant a make it in this evening fortunately, we dont have staff tuesdays. Do you guys have any comments. I needed a confirmation you can hear me sorry. I just want to start offer by saying shout out to el rio your dive and going through for 10 years since i was 21 i love three stuff. I would like to get some positive news on our space we need the get a Building Permit for the doors general contractor is signing back to addicting and so our downstairs the past few months since we appeared before you ive gotten to know take our inspectors very well i see them almost every thursday and friday and saturday. Not only when we have people upstairs sometimesly music downstairs and im not saying all neighbors are unreasonable we have one or two second why not to be a nuisance to the neighborhood i want to bring people and have diverse amount of music and performances. The upstairs i think i was johnny and i were a little bit i guess a little miscommunication or not finding correctly that even with the speaker we can have normal prerecorded music up there and we would i guess motion or appeal to you um, the commissioners to let shut down said for the prerecorded music until we can build a roof over the patio where the sound is escaping and might be a costly thing to do but it looks like that will be the best course of attention that is definitely a valuable space for the business to survive. And if we cant have a blue tooth speaker up there an, an engagement part a thirty Birthday Party so forth without entertainment were going to miss out on 50 percent of our sales this is our course of action and shut down all the music upstairs. Now that still allows us in the next week hopefully to finish that door and have um, live music downstairs where is much more contained i believe that the neighbor in the rear would not complaining about that noise thats what i have to say about that i mean i am a little bit i guess i dont realize the upstairs area was still offer limits we understand the amount of complaints and lastly, i was asked for the time stamps on the three 11 calls before 10 00 p. M. Coming in between 4 and 10 00 p. M. I want to say we can consciously trying to shut down before 11 that was our guidelines for noise in that neighborhood. Thank you. So just to clarify you are currently providing entertainment into downstairs and upstairs . We are currently providing no Live Entertainment rereported. A question for me so i, clarify. What i want to know is the upstairs permitted. It was included in the continual of the llp permit no known usage of i dont know the patio exist not part of presentation but approved for upstairs and downstairs for the bar. The permit has not been issued yet. I got it. As of notice we have a blue tooth speaker upstairs. And when we have a private event up there i offer it up as one of the people in the event can link up and play their music we try to keep that the reasonable vacuum i was intentionally not going to have live music until we got the doors shut downstairs no effort to book a dj or other maureen. Can you clarify im drawing a blank on the upstairs there is an upstairs space that is enclosed am i understanding that correctlyly. The pictures with the pathogen and there are the accordion doors they are black panels they look open regardless but doubled the space you were there so when we have a thirty Birthday Party we on that w up with prerecorded music and we need the see inspector several times during that night. To clarify the music was inside not outside. Only one speaker or two speeches both inside. Were the accordion doors open or closed. Their open. Now were not doing anything 28 doors open we were notified on the first email i apologize but notice music upstairs can you identify who is who i room 416 catch that . Which one of the is, which. Nicholas barney. Nick. Sorry about that. I figured out out 40 years you know johnnys voice. laughter. ive been there many times, yes myself. Okay. So can i clarify nick what you said something about shutting down the upstairs you. With the amount of noise complaints for upstairs we decided to judge to remove all speakers. Inside and out h out prerecorded to put a little come over the patio even with those doors closed glass paneled doors i feel were going to get three 11 calls once the doors are operational we can do the downstairs prerecorded to cover the upstairs i think that is a ensubconsciously with the rainy season a winwin for he everybody to cover the upstairs. The neighbors and the commission i feel like any speaker is not working. The. They came to hearing on august 15th that was approved content on them repairing their downstairs doors they were installed incorrectly and for the accessibility to sound they got to dbi from august 15th until that is done and signed off for fire cant host entertainment for trinity. Got it. I thought what about reaching that from the current application . Thats a path im heading on the their go not going to use it and no immediate plans to enclose it will make our job easier if you focus on the space that is appropriate for Live Entertainment sounds the first floor and nick and johnny ill welcome our thoughts ive defer to the deputy crocker on that bringing that but you personally not comfortable having that space on the current application a little bit unique in the scenario on an unissued permit so we it is for us to correct the application. I would agree with you think that is a shame three the pathogen room cant eyed for right now but like i said, i think everyone will be more happy with using the first floor until further construction. Johnny and nick will be a lot of leverage with the community it shows that you are seriously taking those concerns unto heart and trying to come up with a Strategy Plan for the next steps. That being that said, i made a motion this is going to take the full commission. Vote. Yeah. I dont have any objection to that i mean when you came in the first time it was not long ago and your honor, coming in front of us for un. Permitted entertainment in the space i had mixed feeling about moving forward with the llp. And, you know. I feel like we made a good faith effort and, you know. multiple voices . Telling our staff that is not a dj when it is a dj and generating so many complaints before you even are providing permitted Live Entertainment. Didnt give me a lot of confidence. multiple voices . Moving forward. I appreciate commissioner falzon proposal might be a good solution. Yeah. I will add i mean not a lot of room an hours they are stopping own 11 if disco got more restrictive no purpose in having the permit this is a meaningful foot forward and put in spotlight back on them to build other their upstairs. And thats a process but make sure we use the correct language here they already have a permit and processing not been issued yet and and you can only imagine the situation looking down there are other things and one thing in may or the worst case scenario. Thank you for bringing that up in conditions will contradict commissioner falzon motion. Got it the correct language for this commissioner falzon motion will be something to recondition their permit so the allowable area for entertainment is limited to the first floor is that it. Thats what he said i think. I would defer to defer to staff. The only permitted phase is the first floor if we can make that a motion that is my motion. Yes. Before we go to motion. multiple voices . A great idea and president caminong like to clarify on the record had what constitutes per code the playing of an unamplified instrument if they play the pathogen upstairs not permit or pro reported music but important we keep in mind point Planning Department specifically said no Outdoor Activity period is allowed which goes back to the doors being open or rather those carriers closed dont mean the muddy the waters. multiple voices . I have objection the fact will be a permit holder and imply with the Good Neighbor policy for their windows and doors closed all the time even on the second floor or have an single unamplified sound that covers the requirement to keep the doors closed regardless of that. I started the o was with a financing and had a Business Partner all ended up wanting to start the business and retire and i did was very important to me so i bought them oust and two weeks later the pandemic h4 one of the moments i thought to myself we have to have the worse business in a lifetime or the best. We created the oasis out of a need basically so other people bars and turning them into a space and when the last place we were performing wasnt used turned those buildings into condos so we decided to have a space. What the pandemic did for us is made us on of that we felt we had to do this immediately and created this. unintelligible . Where we would offer Food Delivery Services with a curbside professionalism live music to bring spectacular to lives we are going through and as well as employ on the caterers and the performers and drivers very for that i think also for everyone to do something. We had ordinary on the roof and life performances and with a restaurant to support the system where we are and even with that had terribly initiative and hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt had to pay our rent we decided to have an oldfashioned one we created club hours where you can watch to online and or be on the phone and raised over one quarter of a Million Dollar that of incredible and something that northbound thought we could do. We got ourselves back and made me realize how for that people will show up if i was blown away but also had the courage but the commitment now i cant let anyone down i have to make the space serviceable so while this is a full process business it became much more about a space that was used by the community. And it became less about starting up a business and more about the heart of what were doing. This building used to be a and one of the first one we started working on had we came out what a mural to wrap the building and took a while but able to raise the money and pay 5 artists to make a design around many this to represent what is happening on the side and also important this is who we are this is us putting it out there because satisfies other people we dont realize how much we affect the Community Around there when he i want to put that out there and show up and show ourselves outside of those walls more fabulous. And inspires other people to be more fabulous and everyone want to be more fabulous and less hatred and hostility and that is how we change the my background is in engineering. I am a Civil Engineer by training. My career has really been around government service. When the opportunity came up to serve the city of San Francisco, that was just an opportunity i really needed to explore. [ ] [ ] i think it was in junior high and really started to do well in math but i faced some really interesting challenges. Many young ladies were not in math and i was the only one in some of these classes. It was tough, it was difficult to succeed when a teacher didnt have confidence in you, but i was determined and i realized that engineering really is what i was interested in. As i moved into college and took engineering, preengineering classes, once again i hit some of those same stereotypes that women are not in this field. That just challenged me more. Because i was enjoying it, i was determined to be successful. Now i took that drive that i have and a couple it with public service. Often we are the Unsung Heroes of technology in the city whether it is delivering Network Services internally, or for our Broadband Services to low income housing. Free wifi for all of the residents here so that folks have access to do job searches, housing searches, or anything else that anyone else could do in our great city. We are putting the plant in the ground to make all of the City Services available to our residents. It is difficult work, but it is also very exciting and rewarding our team is exceptional. They are very talented engineers and analysts who work to deliver the data and the services and the Technology Every day. I love working with linda because she is fun. You can tell her anything under the sun and she will listen and give you solutions or advice. She is very generous and thoughtful and remembers all the special days that you are celebrating. I have seen recent employee safety and cyber security. It is always a top priority. I am always feeling proud working with her. What is interesting about my work and my family is my experience is not unique, but it is different. I am a single parent. So having a career that is demanding and also having a child to raise has been a challenge. I think for parents that are working and trying to balance a career that takes a lot of time, we may have some interruptions. If there is an emergency or that sort of thing then you have to be able to still take care of your family and then also do your service to your job. That is probably my take away and a lot of lessons learned. A lot of parents have the concern of how to do the balance i like to think i did a good job for me, watching my son go through school and now enter the job market, and he is in the medical field and starting his career, he was always an intern. One of the things that we try to do here and one of my takeaways from raising him is how important internships are. And here in the department of technology, we pride ourselves on our interns. We have 20 to 25 each year. They do a terrific job contributing to our outside plant five or work or our Network Engineering or our finance team. This last time they took to programming our reception robot, pepper, and they added videos to it and all of these sort of things. It was fun to see their creativity and their innovation come out. Amazing. Intriguing. The way i unwind is with my photography and taking pictures around the city. When i drive around california, i enjoy taking a lot of landscapes. The weather here changes very often, so you get a beautiful sunset or you get a big bunch of clouds. Especially along the waterfront. It is spectacular. I just took some photos of big server and had a wonderful time, not only with the water photos, but also the rocks and the bushes and the landscapes. They are phenomenal. [ ] my advice to young ladies and women who would like to move into stem fields is to really look at why you are there. If you are if you are a problem solver, if you like to analyse information, if you like to discover new things, if you like to come up with alternatives and invent new practice, it is such a fabulous opportunity. Whether it is Computer Science or engineering or biology or medicine, oh, my goodness, there are so many opportunities. If you have that kind of mindset i have enjoyed working in San Francisco so much because of the diversity. The diversity of the people, of this city, of the values, of the talent that is here in the city. It is stimulating and motivating and inspiring and i cannot imagine working anywhere else but in sannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
