Apply for one time after entertainment event permits. They have decided to apply for a permit to continue hosting their annual Outdoor Events and give them flexibility to host other indoor and Outdoor Events year round. Due to residential units located above the bar at the direction of director weiland, the Senior Inspector conducted outdoor sound measurements before tonights hearing to provide recommendations to you. Based on their findings, staff is recommending we categorize entertainment events at zeitgeist is nonspecial events and special events to clearly distinguish the permit conditions for each. For nonspecial events, the Senior Inspector recommends overwriting the standard m. P. C. And set the sound limit at 88 d. B. Measured 15 feet from the nearest loudspeaker because they are sensitive receptors to residential units, closer than 250 feet to the outdoor performance area. The sound limit will be for all nonspecial events. Samples include but are not limited to movie screenings, and djs and can happen any day of the year between 9 00 a. M. And 10 00 p. M. For standard regulations about sounds for l. L. P. His. For special events, Senior Inspector roberts recommend setting another sound limit to keep them in compliance. Special events will include all events that may exceed the non special event sound limits. Examples of special events are including live bands and musicians. The special events sound limit has not yet been determined but inspectors will schedule a sound test to be taken at the onset of the Live Performance in accordance with this. Furthermore, the Entertainment Commission staff recommends number of special events be limited to 306 per calendar year and can occur between the hours of 9 00 a. M. And 10 00 p. M. For standard regulation of outdoor sound for l. L. P. Please note the location of the performance area for special events can help inside with the doors to the patio open, or outside on the patio. Staff recommends the permit holder notified Entertainment Commission and the residents living above the venue prior to hosting special events. Please note, this information has been shared with the permit applicant and they are in agreement with these conditions. In your file, are seven letters of support from current tenants who live erectly above and two letters of support for staff from the tattoo parlor, and 30 letters of support from patrons who live within the city, many of whom are Mission District residents. Seven station approves this permit with the following conditions listed below. Here to tell you more as the manager. Good evening. Thank you for letting me speak before the commission today. My name is lara and i am a. G. M. I am here recommending the owner for applications. It is a 42yearold business in San Francisco. We are a bar with a large beer garden and kitchen. Zeitgeist is a historic legacy business within San Francisco within the registry. Over the past 30 years, we have had a long history of posting performance events from live music to Film Screening djs and other m. C. Events during the 80s and nineties. It was a popular place like monks the punk scene during that time. Moving forward we have hosted a number of live music events. Most recently, we hosted the official tamale lady Day Celebration on june 23rd, celebrating virginia ramos life bands played during a saturday afternoon and it culminated with a screening of a documentary about her life. Each time we hosted events we have been diligent in obtaining the proper permits from the Entertainment Commission, staffing events to make sure the safety of our clientele is maintained and informing all neighbors with adequate notice and manager Contact Information and having managers present to handle issues during the event. With the limited Live Performance permit, we intend to continue these practices fully complying with the Good Neighbor policy. Our intention is to host a variety of cultural events and occasional live music. We maintain an excellent relationship with our neighbors, especially the tenants of the hotel above it. [please stand by] seize that low er level and e inaudible at 250 feet per code. Since they have residential units in that 250 feet, we only thought it was fair to try to cap that number at something that is reasonable. So that is at about three times per month approximately . Once a week almost. I guess my next question is for you. On the recommendation to notify the Entertainment Commission about your events, how far in advance do you normally book your events . For special events about three months in advance. We have agreed to inform on a quarterly basis of anything in that quarter and notify as changes happen. I was just wondering how soon if you can put that in a time and whats the latest that an applicant with notify us. Is it within three days or two days that they need to notify . I just want to put something in there so we have a standard. If you look at staff recommendation e, it is quantified. Okay. Great opinion i did not read that far down. Thank you. So the events you have there, do they bring in their own sound system or you have an inhouse sound system . We do have an inhouse sound system. So they have the option to use our sound system. We have found that often bands pefer to use their own equipment due to their familiarity. So sometimes they will bring that you are own amps. How do you control that if once the inspector sets a limit, how are you going to communicate that to your guest bands . So i actually in applying for this spot i bought a sound tester. So my intention is the next time we throw our next event that i will do a sound check with the bands testing that limit. So you will be there every time . It is a condition of the or another manager . Yes. A manager will be present to perform a sound how often does that happen when they bring in their own . I would say probably 75 , 80 of the time. So i guess its very important to calibrate the two together because thats where you get in trouble. Okay. Thank you. I have no questions. Thank you very much. You can take a seat. There any Public Comment on this agenda item . Seeing none, Public Comment is closed. Im prepared to make a motion, if youd like to entertain it, sir. I would recommend that staff did a thorough job. I would recommend that we go with their alphabetized conditions, as well as condition 1, hire security staff or offduty staff to facilitate events and number 6, permit officer shall be responsible for the management of outside promoters and for payment of patrons outside and on the perimeter of the venue. With those conditions, i would recommend approval. I second that. Commissioner perez its follow up with the Deputy Director at your earliest convenience. Good luck. The Deputy Director will now introduce the next item. Thank you, president. The final permit application is for a place of entertainment change in ownership permit for arena sf located at 2565 mission street. Previously this establishment held a poe permit and mission streets sports bar. The Management Team that recently came in and changed the operation is now taking ownership of the business. Arena sf operations will remain the same since this Management Team came in. Since changing to arena sf there have been some complaints, but management have been proactive in resolving the problem. We have not received complaints in three now four weeks since they stopped using speakers by the front doors. There is no opposition to this application and you will see the letter distributed to 14 businesses in the surrounding area as well as neighbors and patrons. They held a happy hour to meet their neighbors and answer any questions. There was a recommendation to keep the conditions from the existing permit and here to tell you more is david ho, represented by attorney mark renney. Mr. President , commissioners, again, mark renney here for qualia entertainment inc. , doing business as arena sf. This is the Stock Ownership went from richard ensilin who has Mission Sports bar to the arena nightlife group, which is mr. David ho and jackson chang, who unfortunately is stuck in traffic somewhere between here and the east bay. This is kind of a successful story. Ive represented jackson for approximately 20 years. He was, along with j. Chang and john park, the most successful proximitier into an asianamerican clientele. The clientele here remains predominantly asianamerican College Students and young professionals. Mr. Chang has thrown large events and a lot of 18andover events at many different establishment establishments. Mr. Chang is here. No longer stuck in traffic. The theyve moved into l. A. And mr. Chang has been doing a lot of parties down in los angeles. I was lucky to be at the opening of arena k town, korea town, in los angeles in the spring of 2018. That particular venue took off like a rocket ship and is extremely successful and very nonproblematic. Jackson bought the shares or entered into an agreement to start promoting parties at the Mission Sports bar, and eventually we are now at the a. B. C. With a Stock Transfer application. But the biggest problem weve had with this particular venue is the first night they opened on a thursday night, 550 people were in line by about 9 00. They have a very large social media presence. They created a media buzz and they do a really good job. If i could have, crystal, the overhead projector for a second. This is a im going to show you some before and afters. This is lets see here why dont we do it on there. The outside was thats the former Mission Sports bar. This is now arena sf. The interior was also revamped. If we could get some interior shots. This is this is a fairly large venue. It was actually ms. Browns, probably lieutenant falzon remembers ms. Brown about 35 years ago. Its been various places, seven galaxies and most recent Mission Sports bar. These guys have done a really good job rehabilitates it. They are presently working on rebuilding the back wall on the second floor because there is a bit of a sound fleed there. Were also looking for ways to dampen the sound as youbleed th. Were also looking for ways to dampen the sound as you open the door because there is a very large condo complex across the street. You should have in your backet a copy of the flyer that was passed out in the neighborhood. I thought it was kind of interesting, these guys, theyre pretty thorough but they went around to everybody in the neighborhood and they shot if i could have that overhead, crystal. They basically handed out the flyer to everybody in the neighborhood and shot pictures for their facebook. I love it. Trying to be a Good Neighbor, trying to get people to come to their and they put it on all the doorsteps in the neighborhood. Gave it out to the cooks. You get the picture. These guys are theyre really Good Neighbors. Theyre trying to be better neighbors and part of the neighborhood. I feel theyre doing a great job at it. They host three parties a week, thursday which is an 18 and up. Friday and saturday which is 21 and up. It is a bona fide eating place with a type 47 license. They do serve food during the hours of operation. Their security is one person per 45 patrons. Theyve hired j. G. Events services, which is bonded and licensed Guard Service in california. Again, i think theyre doing a good job so far. Theres always room for improvement. My clients would love to answer any questions you might have. But what were requesting tonight is a conditional grant of approval for this place of entertainment. Who wants to go first . Okay. So, mr. Jackson, weve known each other before you were married, correct, and you are a promoter of 18 and over events. I have to say that when you become a promoter to step up to be a club owner, that says a lot that youre very serious about the business. So i kind of commend you for taking on another spot thats probably another entertainment spot thats dying. Maybe the location was a little bit theyre not used to all the people. I notice theres going to be a building next door. Is that going to be an office space or a Housing Development . From what i heard, i think its going to be a gym, like a gymnasium. So youre not since youre doing work, are you preparing yourself for any kind of sound proofing on that wall, you know, to for the future . Im just curious. Well, on our left side theres actually a building thats already occupied. I think the way our stereo system is set up is kind of like a surround sound, where theres not too much bass that would leak to our front side. I think david would be better to answer our sound issues. When we designed this sound system, we took into mind our neighbors, in the sense where we didnt do a central sound system that most clubs have. Where you have two speakers that have to amplify to get to the back of the club. We have 12 speakers in every crevice. We can turn the speakers a little bit lower so we dont need it blasted so loudly. I truly believe in surround sound systems. So it sounds to me that youre pretty well well, i mean, youve been well trained. Thats right. I had a pretty good mentor. I dont know where to start other than we did have a series of complaints earlier. It seems like you solved those issues already. I think for me, i mean i dont know what else to say until you mess up or something. But i think youre already on the right track. You have surround sound. I think you are conscious about your neighbors. If you have to do any sound proofing, im sure you will. So i really have nothing else on my side. Hello, gentlemen. Thank you for coming in. My question is about your neighborhood outreach. So i liked the flyer that you guys created, its very friendly and approachable. Thank you for doing that. I was just wondering, what was the result of the event on the 19th . How many people showed up . Yesterday our manager actually handled the event because i was out of town, but i believe we had it was a small amount. It was about a dozens people. Are these residents or merchants . A small combination of both. We actually got in contact with our the property manager from across the street, the condo, she came out maybe the second week we opened. Do you want to explain that . A lot of the complaints came from the residents across the street. Obviously we want to be in good relations with them. We met with the property manager. The second week we opened, she was very friendly. I gave her a tour of the venue as well as my personal cellphone number, the business number, as well as my email. Im in touch with two or three people at her residence in that apartment complex. They text me any time, hey, the crowd is a little too loud. Most of the complaints are not the music, its the people waiting in line or leaving the club at 2 a. M. So weve fixed all those complaints right away. Also, our number on yelp actually goes to four of our phone numbers. We have it set up on google voice. So just on this last weekend some of the tenants texted. These guys are busy and thats why multiple people have access to the line. One of the neighbors did complain and said your outside crowd noise was a little bit too loud. Immediately i notified all the management and said, hey, were going to stop the smoking section tonight. So im just thats an example of us handling complaints instantly, rather than having to go through a third party to come to us. You know, we do invite them to contact us directly so it doesnt have to get past all these steps. So just another evidence of what were trying to do that has these neighbors call us directly. Theres no point of waiting for someone to take action, just call us up because we take noise complaints very serious. Thank you very much. Good evening, folks. Just a couple of questions. Actually, everything looks very thorough. Mr. Renney is used to doing this. I thought mr. Renney said 45 security per one guard and your package says 25. So im just curious what it is. That was changed. The first i think two months we theyre both very tight. Youre well under the mandated requirement. Im just curious which it is. Yeah, so one of the reasons it expanded is because our capacity expanded. I think when we did one per 25, we were under the impression our capacity was 196. So recently it was notified that we were at 396. When we did have the security guards, it was like more than enough. So we just kind of kept it as is. Because right now were at about 12 guards. Were still at a little bit under 45, just to help maintain the line. We have a couple of extra security guards outside to keep the crowd noise down. So youre at one per 45 . Approximately. You answered my next question. I couldnt find it, but i thought i was overlooking it. The occupancy is 400 . 396. When we submitted the pack in the beginning, we were under the impression it was 196 from the previous owner. How many exits do you guys have . We have two and a fire exit out the back and then weve got a long fire corridor. If youre looking at the front of the building, theres a main door in the middle. To the very far right of the property is a fire wall that exits. Its all the way to the back of the premises with fire doors. So its a legal fire corridor. Thank you. I guess just more of a comment. I think your security plan is quite robust and i complement you guys. Especially i think the rebranding and everything really elevates the place to the kind of places that i think hopefully youll get clientele that will match that level of quality and it will be a fun, safe place. So good luck. Thank you. Thanks for coming in, guys. I dont have any real questions. I remember hearing about some issues on our radar a few months ago right when you just opened, and i do agree with mr. Renney that you were extremely busy at first so theyre easily explained in that situation, especially for that exact block which i dont think Mission Sports bar was drawing 500 people when they were open at any given time. All i can say is ive spoken with our director and Deputy Director and theyve said that you actually have a great working relationship right now and i really applaud you for that. I want to encourage you to continue to use us as a resource. I dont want to say we can be your worst enemy, but the places that are doing really well and that see us as a partner to help tend to last really long. If theres resistance to what we do here, then things just get really difficult. It doesnt sound like thats an issue. Thank you very much. You guys can have a seat. Great job. You guys are good with the proposed conditions by staff, mr. Renney . I have not seen the conditions. Essentially being in compliance with the previous permit holders conditions, but the one thats catching my eye is you guys are capable of keeping video data for 30 days . 30 days, yeah, were fine with that [ indiscernible ] i like condition 10. Security must deny entry to intoxicated patrons [ indiscernible ] okay. Thank you. Thanks, guys, you can have a seat. So is there any Public Comment on this agenda item . Seeing none, Public Comment is closed. Is this item 1 on staff recommendations on their old permit . Yeah. Have we taken a new reading . This is their new reading. Okay. We would potentially do another sound reading when the wall gets finished, but this is currently accurate. And theyre currently running at this rate at this point . Yes. Do we hear a motion . Could i have one second or if somebody wants to make one, i may comment on it. Well, i motion to approve the permit on the staff recommendations. You want to leave item 10 in there . Smart serve kind of obvious. Theres a few i would like to do a friendly amendment to strike. Why dont we start with commissioner lees recommendation and maybe we can add do we need to have a second first and an amendment . I will second the motion so we can have discussion. So i would suggest we strike condition number 6 because its inconsistent with the Good Neighbor policy and the Good Neighbor policy would kind of supersede that. Condition number 8, security to identify sf if an incident occurs inside the vicinity of the venue. My only problem with that its overarching. I dont know what an incident is. Its in Good Neighbor policy. I would say strike that if were good with it. Number 8. I dont really understand number 9, security is to never allow two parties involved in an altercation inside the venue to leave the venue at the same time. Thats just kind of a common Good Practice for security. That should be in a security plan. And actually they have a robust one, so i would encourage striking number 9. Condition number 10 i would recommend striking which is about the intoxicated patrons. Take a look at 14. It says they have an 18 and over night. Are you serving food all night to 1 30, 1 45 . Condition 13 is actually covered by our policies, if we want to strike 13. Its talking about a written security plan. Im just trying to clean this thing up for long term. Thank you. Mr. Falzon may i ask you about your recommendation. Is it the entirety of the condition . Thank you for catching that. I dont mind i would say we can keep that if my fellow commissioners like that. I am indifferent. That is a standard practice, but if we think it should be memorialized, thank you. If we want to leave that portion in there i would rather leave it in sure. Because they do get quite a bit a crowd and it is a lot of people walking at night. I want to make sure my fellow commissioners understand condition 14. I want to make sure youre prepared to take that position that patrons under 21 years of age i feel like thats an a. D. C. Condition if anything. Its not. No . Absolutely not. I dont like that condition. To me, thats kind of beyond the scope of what were doing. Its not an a. B. C. Condition or its not a. B. C. Statute to be more specific. I completely agree. I think both its outside of our jurisdiction and hampers creative ways of doing business. And then 15 okay. Im ready to repeat this one more time. If i could make a friendly amendment to commissioner lees condition 6, strike the first portion about the 50 feet. And then the standings, et cetera, could remain. And then strike conditions 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, and 15. And if thats acceptable i agree. I agree. [vot [vote]. You have been approved. Congratulations. Please follow up with the Deputy Director as soon as you can. Thank you. Good luck. All right. The final agenda item tonight is number 7, commissioner comments and questions. Does anyone have Something Interesting to enlighten us with . Congratulations on pistahan, sir. Very good. Sunday streets in chinatown is doing well. I hope dylan comes out and sees whats going on. This week theyre doing fashion and i think one of the restaurants are going to do a happy hour fashion show. So just generating business i guess on a sunday afternoon. I just wanted to send some positive good wishes to commissioner kamini doing good work in the philippines. I did want to note a reminder to you all and ill remind the full commission that our september 3 date is not happening, so dont come. I just want to i live out by outside lands, and as i lay in my bed on the saturday night listening to childish cambino as if he were in my room, i think its a testament to outside lands and to the neighbors that we only got seven complaints this year. Thats pretty remarkable. And i living in that neighborhood, it just makes me so proud to live in San Francisco when i see the billions of people walking by my door after outside lands and carrying out. I want to give a shout out to that. Its a good time of year. Any Public Comment on our comments or questions . Seeing none, Public Comment is closed. We will adjourn this meeting at 6 29 p. M. [adjournment] you. When i first moved here people come to San Francisco to be the person you want to be can be anyone you want. The community is so rich and diverse that im learning every single day San Francisco is an amazing photoy town historically been base on evolution and that applies to every single professional field including philanthropic arts today what i do is photo based art manifests traditional forest and some colonel lodge and other frames of Digital Forest is a meeting that has been changing like super rapid and the quality is not extended by the medium if you took forest in school or you get a job in a newspaper theyll give give you a list of how to create a philanthropic story my goal to break down that model and from a to b that is unique and allows the ability to incorporate different types of i believey about propels someone through the rise and a fall of their own experiences one of the main things im trying to contribute it unconditional narrative form the narrative art of photograph the in between of photos how does a group of photos come together as how to use the space between photos to alight emotional responses from the audience and bring innovation and create bodies of work that narratively function the way that photos do San Francisco as the commission came out and you visited me and one of their prerestricts was to find an art with enough work to fill a large says that a quad down the hallway downstairs and we hung that quad to feel like a train station that constant sensation from all Different Directions some of the major characteristic of the landscape festivities the blur of the train their 70 Miles Per Hour and theyre not perfect as opposed to to what landscape will look like it creates a dichotomy for people insides the train not just the story of the subject it is not just the visual design the composition juxtapositioning, etc. Not just all autobiography boohoo it creates pictures with meaning within them and then some of the portraits feel awkward some of them feel welcoming and the person that mime making the picture is really comfortable and other ones feel awkward and weigh i didnt and tense that sensation is counter to what we feel like makes a successful portrait that sensation makes that work it is hard to be an artist in a city is 100 percent focused an business the cost of living is expensive and to value your success not scribble on financial return creates a conflict between the paramount egos in San Francisco today. You see a lot of artists leaving for that reason because you need space to make work my ultimate goal to make work that firms people firms this gift and just the experience of life and of their worst and of the amazement the wonderment of everything around us good morning, everyone. Im tom mcguire and i have the privilege of acting as the San Francisco m. C. A. Were here to celebrate the opening of this beautiful train platform. This is going to be the best way to get to the chase center arena. Were exciting to be cutting the ribbon on that platform today. This arena will be the most sustainable, transitfriendly and most successful arena in the nba. To celebrate this opening, i would like to welcome mayor london breed. Mayor breed thank you, tom. There are a lot of folks here today to celebrate this platform, and i just want to start by thanking each and every one of you for being here and helping us to get the word out, but i especially want to thank the warriors. Not only have they committed to making sure that this is the most transit friendly chase center anywhere, but they can put their money where their mouth is by making investments in our Transportation System here in San Francisco. This platform is just one of their many commitments to supporting transportation to chase arena for the over 220 events that they plan to host every single year. We announced a few weeks ago that any event that you attend at chase center, you can basically show your ticket as proof of payment to get on muni and pull up right to the almost front door and walk over and enjoy a good time. And then when youre ready to go, you can hop right back on muni to get back home or wherever youre trying to get to. A year ago we formed a committee to talk about how we were going to be the most transit friendly location when chase center opened, and the warriors have been at the table, ucff has been at the table. The legislators have been at the table. I really want to thank ucsf for being here today and an incredible partner to make sure that people are able to get in and out this community, whether theyre going to the hospital at ucsf or going to class or coming back from mission bay or going to chase center, this neighborhood which basically used to be a railway and empty space has now become a real part of San Francisco as an incredible, thriving community, with people, restaurants, places to go and things to do. Ive got to tell you, chase center is like the icing on the cake because this is where entertainment is going to happen, this is where the championship warriors nba champions will play right here in San Francisco starting this fall for the well, actually coming home for the second time in our great city. Im so excited about whats to come when we open this new center. But today is about really promoting our transportation plans and how we need to get people around this area safely, securely, efficiently. The thing that people ask about the most, first of all, San Francisco has a lot of congestion, but now that were adding another 18,000 people who are going to visit this area over the course of 220 events, what are we doing . Well, we got bike share, we got plans with muni, we have so many incredible opportunities for people to choose the Ferry Service and transit options first. Our goal is to get the word out and to hopefully when we open this amazing place well see tons of people getting right off at this platform to attend the first concert here and attend one of the first games happening here for the golden state warriors. Im excited about this. Thank you to the neighborhood for your patience and all the people that have had a tremendous role. Id also like to add my real appreciation for the warriors and the four Additional Trains that were going to be getting in addition to the platform and some of the other Infrastructure Improvements as their commitment to doing all they can to provide transit options for the visitors to chase arena. Theyve been an incredible partner in this city. At this time, id like to introduce another incredible partner, someone whos helped on the legislative side and continues to advocate for not only resources for San Francisco, but continues to push the envelope around the kinds of transit options that we need to make San Francisco and the bay area a more transit friendly, a more efficient place to move people around, thats Assembly Member david chu. Thank you, madam mayor. San francisco, are we ready for basketball . Are we ready for the warriors . So i was trying to think of something pithy to say that would be appropriate for this day. This is what ill say in four words this is the station for dub nation. All right. This is ride, this journey, has been long in coming. I was just talking to rick wells about how it was eight years ago when i was serving as president of the San Francisco board of supervisors, i got a call about the possibility that the warriors might move to our great city. A lot as happened over that time. I remember asking him the question how are we going to move 18,000 people in and out games this many times a year . Today we announced we unveiled part of the solution to that blueandgold question. I want to also along with the mayor thank so many folks that were responsible for the day, starting with the mayor and her team at muni, along with our contractors and our engineers, our builders. Of course to the warriors for your vision of what an amazing venue could be about. Ucsf, thank you for not only your science but also partnership. I want to thank a moment to thank the neighborhoods, the neighbors, our transit advocates for bringing us to where we are today. I want to take a moment to thank the legislature and the bay area voters who last year passed regional measure 3, which is over 4 billion of transit and congestion funding to help ensure that we are building the best Transit System in the world here in San Francisco. Let me also mention today is a Ribbon Cutting, but this is not going to be the last transit stop Ribbon Cutting. As i mentioned when we were moving forward with regional measure 3 it was suggested to me and my colleagues that we also invest in a ferry system that includes a future mission bay ferry stop. If all goes well, in 2021, we will hopefully do a Ribbon Cutting there as well with the temporary option, as mayor breed just reminded me. Let me just close by saying that we all know that the greatest 21st century cities have great transit. We know we have more work to do in San Francisco, but this is one of the major stops to ensuring that we have great transit here in San Francisco and here in the bay. Go dubes. With that, its my honor to introduce someone who needs no introduction. Someone who has overseen three championships over the last five years, the the of the golden state warriors. Thank you. Another great day. We have been on this journey for about seven years now. I know its a distant memory, but we had some press conference on pier 3032 about seven years ago accepting the mayors invitation to bring the warriors back to San Francisco. Obviously a lot has happened since then. Two people up here actually, all of them, but two in particular at that point in time were critical to this project david chu in his former role at the board of supervisors was one of the first advocates for this project. It seems really easy now that its all done. At the time he took some arrows for us and there were some times when it wasnt the easiest position to be taking. David, we owe you a great debt of gratitude and the support you gave us then in guiding us to our new home at mission bay. Im going to introduce this guy in a moment, but i want to Say Something about him before i do. Chancellor hagad has been an amazing partner in getting this project done. Through the time that i have known him, which initiated with this project, ive come to respect what an incredible steward you are for this amazing institution. Hes a really good negotiator too. I will tell you that. He was you know, we had a common vision, but we had to figure out how to get there. The getting there was the part that chancellor hagood was so instrumental in making happen. Mayor breed before she was mayor was a supporter. She even came with us to china a few years ago to see the warriors play there. She has since the time she has been in office has been an inbelievable advocate in focusing in on what its going to take to make this project successful for the city. I think her encouragement is what resulted in our muni program. Remember that, your ticket to any event at j center is our ticket on muni. Free transportation on muni the day of the event. Thats an incredible opportunity. I think its not only going to be great for getting people familiar with muni on muni. I think its going to bring a lot of people to muni that have never tried it before because of the guests from outside the bay area and outside of San Francisco who now will have an experience with muni that hopefully theyll repeat over and over again. I think, mayor, youve assured us that tom has made sure with all this demand that were creating, that the service is going to match that demand, right . Isnt that what you told me . Thanks to each and every one of you. You deserve to be up here. Were less than a month away from cutting a ribbon and welcoming our first event, metallica and the San Francisco symphony. What else would you do in San Francisco on september 6. Thanks to all of you. Im going to turn this over to chancellor sam hagood. Thank you, rick. Let me welcome you all here the Medical Center and university here. Were delighted to be welcoming the equally world class warriors to be our partners. It has been a journey as rick mentioned, but i am confident that everything is in place to make this a spectacular success not just for mission bay, but San Francisco. At ucsf we strongly believe in the mayors transit policies. We run our electric Shuttle Services to keep our patients, staff, students out of cars. We promote the use of transit whenever we can.
