At a memorial for his late wife Maggie (Mamie Gummer), Jeff (Rupert Friend) talks about what a wonderful mother she was to their eight-year-old Jenny (Violet McGraw). A strange apparition begins appearing to Jenny at night. Jenny says she (the apparition) is trying to give them all a message. Soon, it takes on a dangerous tone.
