In Burkina Faso, IRC launched its first phase of emergency response programming in the city of Djibo in April 2019, mainly with WASH and protection activities. The IRC has more recently launched health and nutrition programs in Djibo and plans to expand its intervention in the North region. IRC also wishes to develop a program for the empowerment of women in the regions of the North, the Sahel and the Boucle of Mouhoun, which is part of a multisectoral approach strategy to meet the needs of populations affected by conflicts and travel.
Scope of work
Under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Program, Senior Manager WPE will ensure leadership over all IRC Women Protection and Empowerment (WPE) programs in Burkina Faso, ensuring quality technical programming, overseeing all program management, directing the design of new programs, and providing strategic leadership on behalf of women and girls through active participation in humanitarian coordination and advocacy. The Senior Manager WPE will provide technical guidance and advice all WPE related projects, including 1) GBV response through case management and psychosocial support, 2) prevention, including engaging men and boys 3) training and capacity building of partners, 4) economic and social empowerment (EA$E).
