PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)— National Skilled Nursing Care week begins on Mother’s Day, and lasts for seven days. This years theme is “Together Through the Seasons. The theme focuses on overcoming struggles faced during the pandemic.
Summerhill Senior Living Community is celebrating by starting the week with a special ceremony for residents and staff. Both Senator Larry Walker and Representative Shaw Blackmon attended Monday’s event and read a proclamation. The state leaders say this week is a time to highlight the care nurses have given residents during the pandemic.
“The residents are excited to be able to interact like they’re used to doing,” said Summerhill Administrator Philip Garner.
