Senegal: Pastef nominates Diomaye Faye as presidential candidate in place of Ousmane Sonko. In Senegal, the Le Pastef-les Patriotes party announced on Sunday evening (November 19th) its plan B for the February 2024 presidential election. The opposition party has nominated Bassirou Diomaye Faye, secretary general and right-hand man of Sonko, as its candidate. With more than 20 seats in the National Assembly, Pastef has more than the 13 deputies needed to validate a candidacy.
