Senate Republicans introduce bill that would alter state GOP leadership

Sens. Dallas Heard of Roseburg and Dennis Linthicum of Klamath Falls currently serve as the chair and treasurer, respectively, of the Oregon Republican Party as well as representing districts 1 and 28 in the Oregon Senate.
Senate Bill 865, introduced Wednesday by two Republican senators, would make them choose which office they want to hold.
The two-page bill would disallow a person from simultaneously holding an elected position in state government and serving as an officer in a state political party.
