Security Service Charitable Foundation donates $5,000 to American Heart Association
Donation to help combat increased heart health challenges amidst COVID-19 with fresh food
SAN ANTONIO, TX (January 28, 2021) —
The Security Service Charitable Foundation is helping the American Heart Association (AHA) provide fresh food boxes to 50 families in need through a $5,000 donation. This comes at a critical time, when the COVID-19 pandemic has increased food insecurity and financial stress, two factors that directly affect heart health.
The healthy food boxes will be distributed across urban areas where it is difficult to buy affordable or fresh, good-quality food. Boxes will be filled with produce as well as non-perishables and pantry staples. To further promote heart health, the boxes will include healthy recipes and blood pressure prescription savings cards, as well as information on stress management, at-home physical activity, and blood pressure.
