The Select Board unanimously approved a seasonal pouring license for Scarlet Rose, the wine bar planned for the old Irene’s Flowers building at 196 Main Street.
Along with wine and beer, the restaurant will serve light food like paninis and flatbreads, said owner Michael Kjelgaard at the July 27 meeting.
The restaurant will also feature patio seating and live music — just a “guy with a guitar,” Kjelgaard said, nothing too loud.
Kjelgaard said he hopes to open in October or November, but has struggled to find contractors to complete necessary work.
The seasonal license will expire in early December, but Select Board member Peter Teitelbaum said the business could apply for a six-week extension and would be allowed to reopen in April.
