A seal had to be rescued by divers after it got its head caught in a mooring buoy rope in Portreath Harbour.
British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) were called to the harbour on Monday afternoon after receiving a call about a trapped seal.
The stricken animal had a loop of rope twisted around its neck being held in place by a buoy and unable to escape.
Luckily it was close enough to the surface that it was still able to come up for air. It was spotted by a local dog walker, Sally Ann Bennett, and a team of medics soon assembled at the harbourside.
