The Prime Minister has a convincing lead in the polls. He is governing from the centre-right, the sweet-spot of Australian politics. But he is not, as some have suggested, invincible. There are weaknesses in substantial areas that will become more evident as the year progresses.

For a start, his planned reform agenda has come to nought. Last April Scott Morrison announced in a press conference that he was looking at all the work done over the past decade on productivity âwith fresh eyesâ, and that: âWe need to go through this process at the moment of harvesting all of these important policy options and how they can be utilised to have an effective and sustainable and strong recovery on the other side of the coronavirus.â
