Arguably the most known desert system in the world. The Sahara is among, if not the largest, hot desert on Earth. It pretty much makes up the entire top half of the African continent. It's a scorching area with at least 3.6 million square miles.
The entire dessert can be easily identifiable when viewed from outer space.
There's almost little to no clouds in the area, a contributing factor to the immense heat. And, the fact that the ground is also covered by fine sand makes it even hotter. The Sahara desert is so hot that it is advised to use specialized shoes that can survive the burning ground.
