The Anchor Bay School District will pay more than $400,000 in salary and benefits to outgoing Superintendent Leonard Woodside over the next year as part of a severance agreement approved by the board of education Wednesday night.
After more than 20 years leading the district, Woodside will serve his last day as superintendent Dec. 31. The school board voted 5-2 Dec. 16 to buy out the remaining 4 1/2 years of his contract with the district.
âI always had great people around me â administrators, staff, teachers, parents â and together we accomplished great things,â Woodside said. âI want the best for Anchor Bay and I am hoping everyone can work together and focus on the kids moving forward.â
