Scholars visit Oroville Chinese Temple, prep for Smithsonian exhibit

Scholars from Stanford, UC Berkeley and Louisiana State universities crowded into the dusty collections storage room of Oroville’s Chinese Temple moving aside tarps, opening wooden crates and peering into boxes in search of artifacts for possible inclusion in an up-coming 2026 exhibit at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art.
