SAXMAN I.R.A. Tribal Council holds election

KETCHIKAN (KDN) — The annual tribal election for the Organized Village of Saxman, Saxman I.R.A. Council occurred April 22 at the Saxman I.R.A. Council Tribal Office at  2706 S. Tongass Hwy.
“OVS is pleased to announce the following persons were elected (or re-elected) to the seven-member Council: President — Joe Williams Jr., Carrie Wallace, Nora Dewitt, Albert White, Christa Thomas, Joyce Makua and Trudi R. Swink,” stated an OVS announcement.
The new 2021 tribal elected officials will be sworn in next Monday.
The OVS tribal certification and canvassing meeting was held this past Monday, according to the announcement. The 2021 tribal election judges were Harriett Edwards, Florence McGilton, Deborah Tavares and Yvonne Watson.
