First responders and community members from around the Southern Tier are mourning the loss of the Savona Fire Department Chief.
Officials said Steve Beebe passed away after recently being hospitalized.
He was suffering from liver failure and a benefit fundraiser was planned for the fall.
Beebe was a fixture in the community for decades. He worked as a nurse and owned Finger Lakes Fudge Company alongside his family.
