Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Save the Children, in partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), has been providing free boxes of food containing fresh produce, meat and dairy products for the children and families in Hazard and Perry County. The boxes were originally going to continue through October, but Save the Children applied to continue the program through the rest of the year, said representatives of the organization.
âWe're committed to bringing them to eastern Kentucky as long as the supply is there,â said Save the Childrenâs Kentucky State Director Alissa Taylor.
