to help prevent picket dials, police offer this tip for iPhones:
Open “Settings,” then tap “Emergency SOS.”
In the “Emergency SOS” settings, turn off the switches beside “Call With Side Button” and “Auto Call.”
Then, exit “Settings,” and you (or whoever is using your phone) will be far less likely to accidentally call 911.
Suspended drivers
A 37-year-old Port Elgin man was charged with impaired driving after police received several calls around 6:45 p.m. July 4 about a suspected impaired driver that had been to several local restaurants.
