Permitting six-storey buildings in the core of Port Elgin, waiving setback requirements and removing restrictions that impede accessible development are changes proposed to Town of Saugeen Shores planning regulations to encourage development of attainable/affordable housing.
Housing is considered affordable it if costs less that 30 percent of a households’ income.
The regulatory changes were presented to members of the Town planning committee via Zoom at a public meeting May 17, by town and county planners.
