Saucy Brew Works postpones opening of new Detroit location
Saucy Brew Works will be waiting a bit longer to open its Detroit location.
The Cleveland-based craft brewery and restaurant announced in a Wednesday, Feb. 24, email to its mailing list that it is "unable" to open its Detroit Brewpub + Coffeehouse due to "unfortunate circumstances outside of our company." The brewery said it intends to announce an updated opening date sometime next week, however.
Saucy previously announced on Feb. 1 plans to open its Motor City location — its first outside Ohio — on March 3.
The 5,700-square-foot space is located in Michigan's Brush Park neighborhood and was slated to be the first restaurant to open in Bedrock's City Modern mixed-use community development there. Construction already had been delayed due to pandemic-related issues. Pre-pandemic plans called for the spot to open around fall 2020.
