Saturday event features Alton city candidates

ALTON — A candidates rally is planned noon to 1 p.m. Saturday across from Ardent Mills.
The event is organized by Lee Barham, a leader in the Madison County Democratic Party. Barham said he’s neutral in the April 6 elections but wants the best candidates to win.
Mayoral candidate David Goins has confirmed his participation, as have Rosetta Brown, 4th Ward Alderman candidate, and Steven Kimbrough Sr., city clerk candidate. Barham said candidates will give brief messages at a podium and take questions.
“After the election, we have got to come together to get it together for whoever the mayor is going to be,” he said. “We need to rally around our city officials to be able to move forward — and it’s going to take all of us.”
