A Sarasota cybersecurity company is facing scrutiny after the firm was tapped to lead a controversial audit of presidential ballots in Arizona’s largest county.
Republican lawmakers in the Arizona Senate initiated the audit in Maricopa County, subpoenaing 2.1 million ballots and 400 tabulation machines in response to unfounded election fraud complaints by former President Donald Trump.
Critics questioned the need for the ballot review, noting that eight different lawsuits filed in Arizona and previous audits did not produce evidence of election fraud.
Hiring Sarasota-based Cyber Ninjas added to the controversy surrounding the latest audit. Company CEO Doug Logan’s social media activity has raised questions about his impartiality.
