SAN JOSE, Calif., May 3, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- The increased stress and anxiety from the pandemic have led to a surge in mental health needs, including psychotic symptoms among young people. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), mental health-related emergency room visits for those ages 12-17 increased by 31% between April and October last year compared with the same period in 2019. To respond to this need, the REACH program in Santa Clara County educates youth and their families about the early warning signs of mental illness while offering treatment to underserved youth and their families.
