COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to fall, and there were 46 county residents being treated for the novel virus as of Wednesday, including 13 in intensive care units.
COVID patients were occupying 17.1% of the county’s available staffed ICU beds.
There have been 347 COVID hospitalizations over the last seven days, averaging nearly 50 patients per day. This is significantly fewer than the week prior, when the county was reporting an average of 68.3 daily hospitalizations.
Of Wednesday’s new cases, 11 are in Santa Barbara and nine are in Santa Maria. The unincorporated area of the Goleta Valley and Gaviota tallied five new cases, Lompoc and Orcutt each logged four new cases, and Goleta reported three.
