Next, with the new year, mayor of Sanford.
Anne-Marie Mastraccio will succeed Mayor Tom Cote as the city's top elected official Jan. 1.
Cote is wrapping up seven years – three consecutive terms – at the helm of the community and is passing the baton to his successor, who will become only the second popularly elected mayor since Sanford officially became a city in 2013.
“Anne-Marie’s commitment to serving the citizens of Sanford is incredible,” Cote said. “Her breadth of knowledge is going to be important as we navigate the uncertain times ahead. Sanford is fortunate to have Anne-Marie and her vast experience to help us move our city forward.”
