STATEN ISLAND, N.Y -- While for many the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic hindered business and new projects, the Sandy Ground Historical Society has used the time spent at-home working on revitalizing Sandy Ground for reopening.
Sandy Ground, located in Rossville, was founded in 1827 as a farming village by people who were freed from enslavement. It was originally called Harrisville.
