San Juan Basin Archaeological Society invites the public to a virtual presentation at 7 p.m. Wednesday via Zoom.
After a brief business meeting, Dianne Scialla will present “Heavenly Splendor: The Baths of Caracalla.” The talk will be recorded.
Scialla works for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. For the last 25 years, she has researched Roman architecture and art in Rome and Naples. In 2012, she was introduced to the conservation curators of Pompei and Herculaneum and has furthered her understanding of Roman art and culture in the Bay of Naples. She has also worked with Wayne Lorenz with Wright Water Engineers on the remarkable bath complexes throughout the region.
