SACRAMENTO, Calif. â On Saturday, the San Joaquin Valley region officially dropped to 0 percent Intensive Care Unit capacity, according to the California Department of Public Health. In a press release the state health department released the most recent state data on COVID-19 numbers and ICU capacity across the state.
Currently Kern's unadjusted ICU capacity percentage is at 7.9%, according to Kern County Public Health.
The San Joaquin Valley and the other two regions will remain under the Regional Stay at Home Order based on the new ICU data.
Since Monday Kern County, along with the other counties in the San Joaquin region, have been under a stay-at-home order. The order went into effect when the regionâs hospital capacity fell below 15%. The stay-at-home order is in effect for the next three weeks.
