Louisiana, Nevada and San Francisco area introduce indoor mask mandates for vaccinated and unvaccinated residents
Health officials in San Francisco, along with six other neighboring counties the bay area reinstated indoor mask wearing mandates Monday afternoon
They are the latest municipalities in the US to require face coverings in indoor public places, even among the vaccinated
They come as the country has seen a surge in coronavirus cases, driven chiefly by the contagious Indian delta variant
In California the variant now makes up 84 percent of all recorded cases in the state
The new mandates came as Louisiana became the second state in the country Monday to announce a statewide mask order
