Hotel revenue in San Antonio plummeted by nearly 50 percent in 2020 from the year before as travel restrictions brought on by COVID-19 roiled the hospitality industry, according to a report released Friday.
Area hotels took in $715.5 million in revenue, down from $1.4 billion in 2019. That’s an “unprecedented drop,” said Paul Vaughn, senior vice president of Source Strategies, the San Antonio-based hotel consulting firm that issued the report.
