SAN ANGELO — Early voting in San Angelo begins Monday, April 19, 2021. Here's everything you need to know about where, when and how to cast your ballot before the election less than two weeks away.
On May 1, San Angelo will choose between three mayoral candidates. Incumbent Brenda Gunter, the city's first elected female mayor, will face two challengers: Silvara Lawson and Dietrick Tillis.
A win for Lawson would make her the second female mayor to hold that office. If Tillis is the victor, he would be the first Black mayor elected in San Angelo's history. Tillis is the first Black mayoral candidate, according to a spokesperson with San Angelo's local chapter of the NAACP.
