A local charity appears to be persevering through the health crisis. The Salvation Army of Rock County met its holiday fundraising goal. Early in the campaign, Major Tom McDowell reported a shortage of bell ringers, most likely caused by the pandemic. As a result, only 43 % was raised in this traditional manner. McDowell says on-line and other giving was up, and the Salvation Army was able to top its $560-thousand goal.
