SAINTS prop Matty Lees faces a long spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on a broken ankle.
The England Knights front rower rolled his ankle in the opening stages of the Challenge Cup clash against Leeds Rhinos and initially tried to play on with it.
It is a big blow for the 23-year-old who had started the season looking stronger after adding 5 kilos.
Coach Kristian Woolf said: "The surgery was a success, but it is going to be somewhere in the vicinity of 10 or 11 weeks out.
"It is positive but it could be more positive.
