SAGINAW, MI — A Saginaw man is heading to prison for killing another man inside a party store, a crime for which he initially faced the prospect of life without parole.
Having accepted a plea deal, though, the man has the chance to one day reenter society, a goal he says he plans to work toward.
Edwin J. Singleton Jr., 28, on Thursday, May 13, appeared before Saginaw County Chief Circuit Judge Darnell Jackson for sentencing.
The judge sentenced Singleton to concurrent terms of 3.75 to 7.5 years and nine to 22.5 years. Jackson also sentenced the defendant to two additional terms of a flat two-year sentence, with credit for 724 days already served on those.
