SA COVID: SA commits $3000 for small business as lockdown freezes economy

As many as 50,000 small to medium businesses will be paid $3000 each by the South Australian government under a $100 million support package to stem the economic damage from a seven-day lockdown, as health authorities battled a worsening COVID-19 outbreak.
Premier Steven Marshall and Chief Public Health Officer Nicola Spurrier said late on Wednesday that a further six community transmission cases had been reported, doubling the total in the Modbury cluster.
Five of the new cases stemmed from people who had been at Tenafeate Creek Wines at Yattalunga near One Tree Hill on the north-eastern outskirts of Adelaide, on Sunday afternoon.
