RYS continued their assault towards the 5.11 Veteran Basketball League title after securing a hard-fought 62-61 victory over Tool Box at the Brunei Basketball Association Court in Batu Bersurat last night.
Yong Wei Kong led his side to victory with a 16-point performance with teammate Alex the other player who crossed the double-digit mark with 12 points.
Eavier Fong and Ho Hee Lee played key roles with decisive three-pointer shots which ultimately proved enough to fend off the challenge from Tool Box.
The early period of the first quarter saw a pair of successful free throws from Kenneth Han extend RYS’s lead to nine points but Kenny Lim narrowed the gap in the subsequent attack.
