Rwanda: Update COVID-19 (26 April 2021)

26 April 2021 — Eighty-four (84) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 5324 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases twenty-four thousand, six hundred, and seventy-seven (24677). To date, twenty-three thousand, and five (23005) patients have recovered, including sixty-four (64) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, three hundred, and forty-two (1342) and three hundred and thirty (330) deaths.
The new cases are in Muhanga (13), Kigali City (10), Nyamagabe (9), Gicumbi (8), Nyaruguru (8), Ngororero (8), Karongi (6), Nyanza (5), Burera (3), Ngoma (2), Gakenke (2), Ruhango (2), Kamonyi (2), Huye (1), Rulindo (1), Rusizi (1), Nyabihu (1), Kayonza (1), and Kirehe (1); heightened vigilance is required everywhere.
The COVID-19 prevention measures announced by the Government of Rwanda must continue to be rigorously observed, especially frequent hand-washing and physical distancing. In addition, face masks must be worn in public and multi-family compounds.
