In addition, a special music and dance program was organized. Russian children performed songs and dances praising the friendship between the two countries and introducing Vietnamese culture. In particular, Vietnamese students at universities in Vladivostok had an elaborate performance to introduce the traditional ao dai of Vietnam, attracting a lot of attention from visitors. Apart from marking the 50th anniversary of the association, the event also aimed to create love for the country and people of Vietnam among the young generation in Primorye region of the Russian Federation. At the event, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture of Primorye province Olga Maximchuk affirmed that language art has no border and she expressed her hope that more and more young Russians will visit Vietnam, a country filled with sunshine, as well as more young Vietnamese people becoming guests of Vladivostosk. 50 years ago, employees of the five largest organizations in Vladivostosk including the Far Eastern Shipping Company, the Vladivostok Commercial Port, the Far Eastern Ship Repair Factory (Dalzavod), and the Far Eastern Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, along with doctors, fishermen, builders, and students established the Vladivostok branch of the Soviet-Vietnam Friendship Association to support Vietnamese friends in the resistance war against the US. In 1992, the Vladivostok Soviet-Vietnamese Friendship Branch changed its name to Primorye-Vietnam Friendship Association./.
