Russellville School Board holds final 2020 regular meeting

The Russellville School Board met Tuesday to take care of year-end business, under the direction of acting superintendent Jeff Holt.
Holt, Russellville Intermediate School assistant principal, director of safety and security and former football coach, is filling in as superintendent after the Russellville Board of Education granted a 30-day leave of absence request Monday to Superintendent Mark Gotcher.
The leave was granted under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act during a special board meeting.
“I just want to thank the board for showing the confidence in me to fill in for Dr. Gotcher for this short time,” Holt said. “We have an incredible leadership team and I have had the pleasure of working with these principals and administrators both at the district level and the building level for a long time and I’m just amazed at how well they do their work and I just appreciate the help and the confidence that you’ve given to me, and I really do appreciate that.”
