Operators of a rural Alberta gas station and store east of Edmonton are facing criminal charges and public health charges after repeatedly refusing to follow Alberta’s COVID-19 rules, according to police.
In the RCMP’s account of the events, three people with the Countryside Services and Tempo gas station in Lindbrook spent months refusing to engage with health officials and police or follow public health rules before they were charged under the Alberta Public Health Act in March. They were given a court date in early May but didn’t show up, police said in a Tuesday news release.
