A Coast woman who promised puppies to hopeful Gumtree customers has been sentenced after her scheme unravelled.
Natalie Maree Speed told police she never intended to sell the Cavoodle puppies she advertised online in 2019.
Police prosecutor Lee Allan told the court two of the three victims responded to an advertisement selling the puppies and later handed over $500 deposits to the fraudster.
"On the fourth day of September the victim replied to a Gumtree post involving cavoodle puppies for sale, the advertised price of $1050," he said.
"With arrangements the victim attended an address at Bells Creek with her young son and met the defendant and her partner and viewed the puppies, the victim chose a black male.
