S. In terms of how this election was conducted can very much show the world how its done tonight the whole world is watching america and i believe that our brand america is a beacon for the glow. First i think just to clarify the situation theres no doubt that joe biden is the president elect and will take office at noon on the 20th of january next year there are there are no court cases that have any merit. The margins are such that they are not capable of being disputed and to be also clear joe biden won the election by 5000000 votes the most votes that any candidate has ever gotten this donald trump for the 2nd time in a row lost the popular vote and if the us d didnt have a constitutional system that was created in the 18th century in significant part to benefit slave owners he would never have been president but. You know that be that as a matter biden is somebody who knows the world extremely well hes hes going to be a steady hand you are not going to wake up in the morning and wonder about some change of policy thats been put off in tweets or some for a trail of an ally what youre going to see is back to a normal United States president. Yeah for sure the countrys polarized but there was an extraordinary turnout in this election largely because of donald trump and because a majority of americans and wanted did not want him to continue as president and joe biden got over 50 percent of the vote. The Hillary Clinton won by 3000000 votes but she didnt get 50 percent. Yes theres no doubt that the country is very polarized that said i think joe biden is. Probably the one person who can bring people together hes not a threatening figure he is a liberal but. Somebody whos been in politics a long time hes not at all a radical and hes a really nice person. People in washington know him and like him one of the ads that democrats ran or perhaps it was the Lincoln Project was Lindsey Graham one of trumps strongest supporters talking about how decent joe biden is and you know how nobody could dislike him now he he didnt realize that those comments which were made a few years ago were what would be used in an ad but nonetheless it reflects the attitudes that that people who know joe biden across the aisle and these personal connections. Connections do matter. Also joe biden is sort of the polar opposite of donald trump in the sense that he has great deal of empathy. He you know hes a kind person its not about him so i think and i think what youre going to see both domestically and internationally is normalcy and you know i think that is going to be the best thing to repair the enormous damage thats been done again both domestically in this country by the day. Visions that trump contributed to and internationally by the break with allies but since this is russian television. On television in russia i think its this actually finds presidency wont will be good for u. S. Relations with russia and with china you know were at a different point in history i was in basket or in the one 990. 00 s. If we could get in that will be in the interests of i hope that over time well also have words normal relations with iran which is a very rich culture and very important country just to kill from what you said just a bit earlier about how hes kind of seen as this all around nice guy some would argue that maybe they dont necessarily want that president to be nice they just want him to be competent and also its very possible that he hasnt had a chance to 8 people because he hasnt been a president yet hes had to make unpopular decisions and one of popular decision will are not enough to be relate to how he deals with covert 19 because there are people out there who just want to keep the economy going and dont want to be locked down who dont necessarily believe fully in the scientific benefits of mosques so is that not a concern that potentially even localized lockdowns could cripple the u. Well 1st i think one reason that joe biden got so many votes is that he was perceived as confident by a majority of americans as opposed to the chaos and incompetence d of the trust era and perhaps that was no more visible than trumps incompetence and handling coping i mean its just hard to go back and look at a record this is a man who publicly discussed whether it makes sense to inject yourself with sleep who said that in an april that hes gone by april that there were 15 cases that would be gone who held the super spreader about. And i think a good part of joe biden success was that he said he would take it seriously he talked about a National Master mandate and i think that that will be popular if you look at the how the different american states have behaved including my native state of vermont. Which has a republican governor and he was and it was the most Democratic State in the country it was bidens best state that republican governor got reelected with the same percentage of the vote as biden did 66 percent why because he managed the crisis in a very competent way by shutting down the state of vermont which incidentally has the lowest rate. Of coronavirus of any statement country and the vermont economy is recovering so its i think its a false dichotomy to say its a choice between the economy and dealing with coronavirus quite the contrary you can only deal with the economy when youve dealt with coronavirus and i think thats the approach that joe biden is going to take im fine you know i want to ask you one thing that a lot of people a pillow donald trump for and the fact that he is one of the president s 2 outs not started in the involved in the thing. You know i i think that here too when we get away from all the nasty rhetoric you know russia the United States have had a common in tristan in afghanistan which is not the return of a sunni extremist. Regime you know we can look at it at afghanistan during the 1980 s. The United States was supporting the sunni fundamentalists that the pakistani dictators all had had identified and in the end although it was defeat for the soviet union some of those forces came back and attacked the United States on september 11th 2001 and if i know there may be some in russia who would like to see the u. S. Get its comeuppance in afghanistan and perhaps for the u. S.
