Its Cuyahoga County thats where cleveland is 40 percent reporting so far lucas county 19 percent thats where toledo ohio is Franklin County 43 percent thats columbus Hamilton County thats cincinnati 54 percent reporting so theres still a lot in those major metropolitan in ohio when you look at toledo in cleveland major working class areas so well see how those turn out and then were going to pennsylvania next this one could choose it all if pennsylvania goes for President Trump looks like he could secure reelection Vice President biden were to win it it could change but well have to see how the map plays out in the next couple of hours Philadelphia County again they were in the same boat as michigan where early votes were not counted right away it was actually they what day of voting 1st because they could not legally open the ballots until the start of election day to start counting them and i want to say Philadelphia County 23 percent reporting Allegheny County thats where pittsburgh is a major working class city 16 percent reporting so theres a lot of room there right now rick pennsylvania until we get a better sense of whats going on in the bigger cities as we like to say were not really going to know whats going on there ohio though is interesting 83 percent reporting and. I think they couldnt excite the africanamerican voters now i know in some places you know that think it was george or whatever i heard he had a 92 to 8 leader 94 to 6 lead over trump but how many came out i mean thats the key if you have 10 people come out and you get 8 but they do the votes thats not going to do much for you. This was not able to garner any africanamerican enthusiasm when she was running for president you took her and cory booker combined and they did make a dent in the africanamerican vote during that one state primaries because she was out before the primary started why they expected that she would be able to energize an africanamerican base or that joe biden would simply because he served under obama he couldnt talk his way out of the crime bill he couldnt talk his way out of you aint black he couldnt talk couldnt talk his way out of a 1000000 things there were a 1000000 more that the media never brought up education is better in iowa than d. The other thing thats interesting here is we have seen at least one arrest a night in the crowd one guy was arrested and now weve started to see a larger Police Presence you asked me the last time you came to us and you see very many police we werent seeing them now were starting to see them a group of 8 officers walked in here a few minutes ago 2 of them holding rifles they came right through the crowd there was a group of people following them lifestream in them kind of walking behind them with some sound like squeaky toys making squeaky noises behind them as they walked away weve also seen officers from in p. D. On bicycles out here as well and then the other thing that were starting to see are more people Walking Around with gas masks were seeing more of that more people who look more aggressive in the way theyre coming around and interestingly and again you know we dont know all the Details Behind this but theres at least one group here that weve spotted who is i defy themselves as press they seem to be wearing jackets invest its a precedent helmets thats a press. Pretty sure theyre not press based on some of the things that we believe including tearing signs off of the white house throwing things over the wall so theres definitely some people here who are agitators and looking to create education and war is people as we get later into the night seem to be getting more aggressive and as we said a heavier Police Presence out here now so well watch it carefully but the more i think we get what many of these people here who were getting pretty much there all by supporters would regard as bad news the more we expect to see that situation the great yeah and. Hopefully that doesnt happen hopefully that doesnt happen a situation where not peaceful and well just see how things play out throughout the night lets go to the other side of the city now from one end of the monument area to the other the u. While youre over here at Freedom Plaza we do have seen an uptick in Police Presence weve had a lot of squad cars and police on motorcycles go flying by with the lights blaring just a couple of minutes ago we had a helicopter fly overhead put a spotlight on the plaza but there is no one here in Freedom Plaza just down from capitol hill except myself and other journalists one thing that was interesting that i did hear in the courts is that activists did over by where mr swan is reporting activists at one point brought a spotlight to black lives matter plaza and were projecting messages on the surrounding buildings one of the more popular messages that you saw there was in case of coup we are many they are few so you know you do see you know people are acting up and not not in any kind of aggressive way but just definitely letting their feelings be known but ultimately again here in Freedom Plaza just down from the capitol while the electoral map is heating up there is just kind of a chill in the air here in d. C. But there is no action or no Real Movement of any kind of protest. Activists taking place here on the streets here kyra you get any sense i mean you know you talk to people youre youre a smart guy youre a journalist youve followed the situation for quite some time if youve been able to think about putting your finger on what it is that doesnt seem to be exciting the Democratic Base tonight as much as some people expected it to be excited. I think it comes out i mean for the youth of this country and for the it just comes down to the fact that at the end of the day joe biden and kamel arris are not are not energizing candidates theyre not candidates that make you want to get out you know get up and really say i really believe in their message because part of the problem i think for them was the fact that at the end of the day they didnt have a message that really went beyond we just dont like donald trump we got to get rid of donald trump and yes thats a message but they didnt get into anything that they would do beyond to really help this country yes he said ok ill try to handle covert better than the president but i will not again there wasnt really a strong core message beyond just get rid of donald trump and i think youve got to lead i think for people running for president in your candidate you have to leave with a message that really educates people on what your overall goals are what your real plans are to make their lives better and i think it just got too bogged down in to vote for us because we dont like him and on the other side it was kind of the same thing so really the saddest part about this election i think the really. Early voting numbers and they had a pretty good turnout this afternoon here as well Fulton County and capt county and several other counties around atlanta theyre looking at you know 33 and 51 percent respectively as well as some areas arent reporting at all quite yet so in those Major Urban Centers in the georgia area and especially in atlanta we could see a little bit of a change but you know right now its looking like President Trump has georgia pretty much in hand but we will keep an eye on it because like we said anything could happen in this election and then we have a new bad new bappa with california oregon and washington have just been called. Polls were closed and that brings our new total to 209. 00 electoral votes for Vice President biden 112. 00 for President Trump again as we look this is nothing that is unexpected so you still going to keep an eye on minnesota wisconsin michigan ohio pennsylvania North Carolina georgia and florida are all seeming to trend towards President Trump but that midwestern blue wall could be what were looking at deep into the eye and maybe in the coming days as well rick. Its going to be very difficult for joe biden if donald trump does indeed it looks like hes going to win georgia it looks like he was likely is leading by quite a bit in florida if he does win North Carolina where hes leading now he pulls out a win in pennsylvania and a win in arizona then he just needs to pick up maybe wisconsin or michigan because ohio looks like it is as well and if that happens its looking like hes really very much in the drivers seat right now and again these are the leaning these are the tendencies that were seeing does not necessarily mean thats the way its going to finish but thats the way its look at brett right absolutely and like i would like weve talked about and wed. But saying this for weeks pennsylvania is going to be a key here now arizona may be key as well because if that does go for instance to a joe biden that opens up the map a little bit for him but he still has to succeed in wisconsin and michigan but pennsylvania is going to be that key and like we said with the way theyre voting counting votes if the election comes down to pennsylvania which it very well might we may not have an answer tonight we may not have an answer for a couple of days as they try to get every one of those votes counted kind of slow counters and boy is one of the things that we do have to mention right now all of the close polls are closed except alaska only 3 electoral votes and when you say polls i mean people have stopped voting people have stopped voting in all states except alaska so now its literally just going to be watching the wires and writing. Theres a protocol in the way diplomacy is done in this is something that the world has become used to especially when you look at europe i mean you know the very old school they like to do things a certain way President Trump brought in something very different it was more about a business deal it was about negotiation it was something that america should say europe was very very uncomfortable dealing with simply for the fact that they never had to go through a transactional type of Political Movement before in the pot so for europe it was has been shaken by trump and some would say thats a good thing the whole political process sometimes needs a good shaking but at the same time for europe right now joe biden you know he said hes going to pick up the phone basically call everybody say hello and were with you 2 very different sides of are 2 very different approaches to an ally because our european neighbors are our allies to the United States. Is thats the question you know what do they want to see most likely the europeans right now theyre hoping to kind of get back to normal but with things that are the donald trump is done i mean this in certain arenas you cant say that they were all wrong and you know sometimes the establishment needs a good shaking. Well right now all eyes are on the midwest and the rust belt we know that biden has to win pennsylvania we know that wisconsin ohio michigan are leaning towards biden i think that was a loss to not have florida it appears that thats not going to happen but as someone who is an insider for the Biden Campaign has a lot of friends who are working top brass for the Biden Campaign the belief that he was going to win florida was that one that was really off off putting at all we knew that there was a large chance that he might not so the move towards you know looking at these midwestern states in the rust belt states was always one that was a lot stronger and then also waiting to see what happens in georgia you know have been a very good advocate for the progressive position i do and seeing you on the air many times not just here but in many places spazzing that position do you do you have a sense of disappointment right now in terms of the way things seem to be shaking out even though we dont know what the final score is yet its starting to look like this thing may be decided by a field goal. Well i think that there were people who were hoping that this would be a slam dunk that this would be a blue wave i was never one of those i knew that this race was going to come down to a nail biter and be super close to begin with and i think that thats playing out across the country and i am still extremely inspired by the amount of early votes that we saw come out this year it was historic by so many levels and also those who actually did early vote we saw a ton of new voters we saw the diversity in the voter base that came out i think that thats something that america should be proud of im definitely not im definitely not downtrodden at this point i think that we still have a long night to go and those major battleground states weve got hours before many of them are going to be decided where hes going to have to hes going to have to win wisconsin hes going to have to win miss youre going to looks like hes going to have to win. Pennsylvania his home state. So biden is still in a little bit of a pickle here im sure the biden camp has got to be wouldnt you think a little nervous right now well when this is fairly say nervous but in the start the biden camp understood that bidens road to 70 was a lot more broad based than donald trump was and right now you know with the numbers weve seen come in donald trump won a lot of the states that everyone knew he was going to win anyway those were solidly red state with the exception of what were seeing happen in florida where there was a there was an idea that maybe it might turn blue but for the most part the states that are key and trump the base right now are the state that republicans of one time and time again so theres no huge surprise. Well there is still a chance in North Carolina. You brought this up as far as a big can a point of contention when it comes to wisconsin those Union Workers being promised these jobs then losing them do you think that is going to have an effect on wisconsin and also just those union parties themselves oh my god its an amazing amazing horror show of late stage capitalism i mean donald trump along with scott walker and foxconn you know dollars from thought this battleground state all but helped bring 13000. 00 jobs to this relatively small area and so he works with foxconn normally has these slave laborers in china right theyre the ones that make our i phones and so far its got agrees this deal because they want to be best buddies with donald trump because its good for them right thats good for their deals but of course they quickly find out if they can actually pay American Workers to make l. C. D. Screens you know theyre paying people pennies in other countries why would they ever pay people in wisconsin so theyve torn up the land to built a couple of structures and for the past several years have done nothing with that they hire people for a month in order to meet their quota theyre given billions of dollars in tax subsidies were promised billions of dollars in tax subsidies would you and i might call bribes and none of it has actually come to fruition i mean its amazing catastrophe and i dont know whether it depends on whether people see through it and they see. Happen there in there that actually it causes them to vote a certain way im not sure but hold on to that point that is the reason why people wanted donald trump in because they saw all those bad trade deals they were having products here in the United States be built across them into foreign lands for so how does this all really different this question is that the heart of it is just proves once again that we need trade deals that what i thought we were on the verge of having with china that keeps our actual factories here and at my cost is a couple more dollars at the walmart down the street but at least were both in the products and were keeping the peace of the employed here in the United States instead of the slave labor that your right exhibit is trying to get but if you try the opposite this prove its wrong to say its more strong says were doing this and he still to this day so acts like theyre going to hampel none of its an example of why did we have more companies on the other side of. What happened to carol you say you had a carrier actually was and youre saying here in indiana when that happened it was about a year after trump was in office he had promised to keep carrier there and they got a bunch of tax breaks to stay in indiana and then i believe it was almost a couple days before his actual Year Anniversary in office they ended up going down to one thought a mexico and you lost a couple 100 a lot of 100 trade deals now the reason why hes going. O. s d of businesses like kerry or you could give a darn about you there donald trump or joe biden or congress or anyone else what they care about is their shareholders and if their shareholders say you didnt do a good job and you didnt make me enough money and the only way i think you can make me more money is if you take your plan to get to mexico then thats exact. What he is going to do and it has nothing to do with trump or biden or politics or anything else because thats just not the way business operates so every time it seems that we go into one of the elections and one of these politicians says ill get them to do this frankly i know you wont because not the way capitalism or bass not the way that you can always drive where they work that way but it doesnt work that way here no its wrong its profit over people at the end of the day you may you may hold a couple of jobs for a minute to make it look good but at the end of the day theyre going to want front and why then should we just send all the jobs across ever theater to south of the border should we not you should start to understand how the Economic System works absolutely lets try to incentivize them to stay here and build their products here instead of going to other countries its not hard i agree but its also a partnership where those red caps made. Well where the trouble i get to and which ones are the official ones on the knockoffs me right all down here is theyre either a business term you may be familiar with low f i l o 1st in last out thats what were waiting for right now pennsylvania the 1st votes cast will be the last ones counted because they were the male vote were seeing the booth votes today well thats the thing you know pennsylvania may be very different from florida in that sense and you know thats a great point that you just made so in florida the 1st votes that were counted were the folks who voted 2 weeks ago and had dropped them in or mailed them and those were counted starting last night and by 7 oclock this morning they had 50 percent of them counted so in florida what theyre counting now is the folks who count who voted today in pennsylvania its the converse so essentially theyve already got the ones who voted today and now theyre going to figure out the ones who voted over the last 2 weeks lie low yeah and by the way that could be advantage biden right that could be advantaged by the because according to all of the reports that we have seen most of the people who voted early tended to be democrats so that might be one of those right might be finally some good news for biden we know his Party Affiliation we dont know how they vote exactly right thats a great point you know they were democrats it doesnt mean they voted for biden because as we know in the last election a lot of folks voted for drop who were democrats as well. You know when it comes to florida were talking about 98 percent of the precincts reporting in i do believe we do have brant standing by that we could possibly jump over to it with any numbers that we got how about you know. So the big map that we just want to update that quick utah has now been called for President Trump at 6 electoral votes again no surprise here so they were at 209118 at this point and i wanted to talk about exactly what you just mentioned there fair and if we can bring up the florida numbers that were looking at here 98 percent reporting 51 percent to 47 percent so there is no leeway whatsoever right now it would appear for Vice President joe biden to make up that groud every vote that comes in at this point for him is crucial and he really in his campaign have to hope that you dont see additional votes for coming in as theyre counting that last 2 percent that we are seeing in florida we could be on the cusp of seeing a call from the Associated Press within the next couple of hours when it comes to florida rick and farron its interesting so florida too close to call gee what a surprise. Yeah but biden could still put together a map with yes yes biden could still win even if he loses florida even if he loses North Carolina and georgia but im telling you right now its getting very very its getting much more difficult with each passing its getting late moments later in the evening for him to be able to do that we talked a little while ago and i want to make sure youre a part of this conversation the fact that the Democratic Party continues to go with old stalwarts i mean it really is i mean the pen the bull hes nice and Everything Else but the voices of so many people. Well in this country who have been making strong arguments about new directions and the Democratic Party and certainly the Republican Party doesnt want to listen to there are some signs with the house races corey bush and jamal bowman who may be new members of the squad looking like they may very well win or on over there already been projected but so yeah theres some movement on the progressive but yeah i mean the other thing is that these polls that everyone was saying all bidens doing so well is doing so well and and now it seems like at least in some of these states you know hes still got a great chance of winning but in some of these states it seemed like he wasnt doing as well as i thought its because it seems to me that it continues that these posters are not accounting for millions purged from the rolls were talking millions investigative journalist greg palast is one of the few who is really delved into this and there were 8000000 people that did not get their vote counted cast last time around this time probably something similar these are largely people of color and they were purged from the rolls they think theyre voting they tell people theyre voting some of them even go in and fill out a provisional ballot and think they voted and it is not counting so i mean using these polls when millions of purges laughable out of me show you still with us some wondering what your take is on charges that the Republican Party continually suppresses the vote in the United States why i think lee is absolutely correct and weve seen those of murder voter purges weve seen that Voter Suppression ratcheted up not only with certain poll closures but also with the targeting of mail and ballots we see you know what happened in Harrison County texas weve seen time after time where the Republican Party has instituted these very racist policies when it comes to preventing access to the ballot for africanamericans and i dont think that that changed in 2020 if anything it is only increased and its extremely problematic because the more you suppress that vote the more you arent suppressing that vote the harder it is for these communities the ones that have had. I have made demographic shifts over the past 1213 years to actually have those peoples voices heard and as an africanamerican as someone who was. In the National Urban league i know theyve worked over the past few years with specific i did 2020 paying attention to just how ratcheted up these methods were going to be and you know we didnt see extremely long and crazy lines today thank the lord but we did see a lot of those voter purges we do know that there are people who were told to vote in one place and that polling place did not exist we know that you know in georgia right now in county the largest county in georgia is going to be reporting 4 hours behind what we initially thought was going to happen because there was some type of water leak just in time for the election the ballots to be counted in the most diverse county in the state of georgia and theres a lot of hanky going on but i got to we need to balance this out though because look in pennsylvania today there are videos time and time again republican pollsters Republican People wanted to go in and vote in pennsylvania and were denied and turn around its across the board this is something that both parties charges. And then i marry you i hear you got it but theres a long history in this country of suppressing the black vote and i dont think that this can be negated by anything theres no you know you think youre having a governor of pennsylvania were talking with. Several court. Were talking a boating right and long history in america of suppressing the black vote and that is not equal to it doesnt mean were talking about you know i was not agreeing in pennsylvania just so you want to vote for tennessee girls i havent remember memphis there is a reason to go through voter rosters when people move i live here in d. C. I live in nashville i voted national i got them attention i got a voting thing here in d. C. In my condo said to my condo ok there is a reason to make sure that our voting rosters are legitimate and actually going to voters there is corruption within those its not a republican or democrat issue it happens on both sides youre Voter Suppression i agree theres been you know we dont know that answer to every one person that we can. Sure it was a letter to one person i dont remember it immensely tell me Something Different people dont want to know but i dont want to talk unless it were in sort of thing lets not that i dont want to talk about it why did you want me about my going on with air and look at but ill tell you a story i dont know what they made it i crossed again where it had been country there has been work to stop africanamericans from voting and trying to equate that to anything that is episodic in pennsylvania its actually you know what to everything the civil rights leaders and africanamericans im not going to do that were going to get only a fight right now literally going to be allowed to do you legal that i want to thats what i know that comparison does not make since it is no no no lets go there live and youre going to get why do you want to do it my voters arent surveying outlets but really were not labeling lets just bring down the heat a little bit although its very passionate conversation and we appreciate perspectives from both sides let me show at the end of the day what are you pulling for as youre looking at this map right now to see if indeed biden can make the comeback that a lot of his supporters are hoping he makes is that arizona is it pennsylvania is it ohio well im a native chicago and so im always rooting for the midwest may think that its definitely going to be wisconsin michigan ohio and making sure that there is a great showing in pennsylvania and i think that those are his pathways those are the pathways to the great numbers hes going to need this is a nail biter and this is going to be a very close race but he definitely have to have the midwest and he has to happen something. President need to do at this point what are you looking for are you looking for him to score one to be able to make the rust belt pennsylvania its michigan its going to study is going to have to square that we do think that arizona is going to be called for biden congratulations to the democrats theyre going to both get a senate seat and claim arizona i think is where its going to lean towards what its looking like so theyre going to hes going to pick up the other ones minnesota still hasnt been called wisconsin hasnt been called michigan has been called it comes down to the ballots are going on down to the hard workers of america in order to decide this election but either way interestingly enough texas though it looks like its going to be a trump. Say at this late hour it has still not been called despite the fact that all its neighboring states have been called at this point lead for the show take us out with the last word way well she says it comes down to the workers who are getting screwed by both parties i would just like to make that clear they are celebrating that wages are stagnant or theyve been stagnant for decades meanwhile the rich get richer trillions of dollars to the top few individuals and its rather disgusting well and i thank you for putting it so i dont know but it was always are very good at very politely and delicately making your point we Campaign Ladies and gentlemen all right guys were going to continue this is. Well welcome back im rick sanchez its now 30 minutes after the hour of 11 oclock here on the east coast of the United States were following several developing stories certainly the crowd starting to gather in our Nations Capital as people who are extremely anxious about whats going on with tonights vote letting their voices be heard we have correspondents on both sides of the city who are going to be checking on that for you then of course weve got the big map which is showing you how things are shaking out right now in fact as you look at it right now and as we shake out the states that are coming in there doesnt seem to be any major surprises as weve said before its not about whats been called its about the the tilts are the indications of what hasnt happened in other words the expectation was that we would see places like florida down there george North Carolina just above it by now being called in fact most people were thinking that was going to probably go blue at this point the fact that it hasnt gone blue is showing that theres an expectation that it may very well go red so were watching that as soon as we get one of those calls which may come shortly were going to share that with you so for now i think its time to get back over to the big mouth i absolutely think it is and if you thought 2016 was funny election guys theyre having fun with us tonight folks what were going to go over do a bunch of bore host a boom bust now for the latest numbers out the wall brian and remember i mean not only do we have a highly contested election here we also have that incredible amount of early voting and mail in voting due to the pandemic which we try to mention quite regularly here too to bring that context in there but thats why were not seeing some of these states called as soon as we maybe would have in the past and i think to your point re. About texas thats what were seeing a lot of there as well because they had a lot of ballots to count as well so well see what happens in the coming in the coming hours when it comes to that but i want to go through a couple of states i want to touch on that blue wall again that we talk about up in the midwest and were going to start with wisconsin here and this is what we have right now 60 percent reporting 46 percent for Vice President biden 51 percent for President Donald Trump and what you have to keep in mind here is this is another one of those states for some reason in the midwest they have specific rules when it comes to the way that the early votes are counted in especially mail in ballots so theyre actually saying that look we may not know who wins the state of wisconsin until the next morning and dont worry that doesnt mean that they did anything wrong is what the officials are saying more is about the fact this is take this process takes longer but i do want to talk about the in person voting numbers that we are seeing that have already been counted in damed county thats where Madison Wisconsin is thats a democratic stronghold in the state of wisconsin theyve already voted earth theyve already counted 84 percent according to the Associated Press press Milwaukee County another democratic stronghold in the state has already counted 99 percent so if you know it could all come down to early voting and if thats the case its going to be interesting to see how long that takes for the state of wisconsin to get those numbers out and to share those as well i also want to check in on minnesota if we could check on minnesota another 60 percent reporting 55 percent to Vice President biden 42 percent to President Trump and thats to be expected you know what once was a purple state in minnesota has really become more and more of a blue state in recent years so well see how that ends up in the battleground not ready to make a call there and then i want to go to. Arizona because arizona is going to be a play a big big part here and were not seeing a lot of the in person voting numbers coming in quite yet in big counties like Maricopa County where phoenix is or pima county where tucson is were not seeing those big numbers yet this is a lot due to early voting and that is why youre seeing that lead from Vice President biden at 53 percent to 45 percent for President Donald Trump again we knew that this was going to happen coming into election day because when it comes to early voting it appeared that democrats were really out in front of that and while republicans seem to be more in favor of in person voting on the day so why you see these types of numbers even with 73 percent reporting you have to keep in mind that a good chunk of that is still not counted yet rick unfaired good stuff appreciate that report. Keep us honest let us know if anything changes so we thought by now we would get some new calls new projections but its looking like theres too many of these states that right now are just too close to call if they are called or if theyre projected were working with the Associated Press were going to bring you that right away and you know rick i got to ask you one question really quick. You know we always had these battleground states and weve always you know its always you have to kind of wait till the end of the night youve covered many elections in your lifetime certainly what do you see differently this year about these battleground states and how people are literally waiting on the edge of their seat i think the fact that kobe had caused people to vote in mass early has literally thrown a wrench into the system i think the system right now is extremely confused and i think many people in the Democratic Party were convinced that because the early vote seemed to be democrat that that was enough to justify the fact that biden had big leads in a lot of those states i think when we go back were going to find out that essentially they got it wrong i also think we have a problem in this country right now and i think it has to do with the fact that most people are frustrated with having only 2 choices and especially in this case 2 men who are well into their seventys now and i think for a big part of the American Population almost anybody under the age of 40 they look at that and say you know im not sure when i get to be that age im going to be my best to i think right now the fact that there are only 2 people to choose from becomes a problem for a lot of americans and that may be keeping them from voting and you know to piggyback off of that you know there was a new study that found that 6 in 10 americans they actually want to see a 3rd Party Candidate and its one of these things where we often wonder why arent we seeing them often you know why cant they break the barrier why cant they actually push forward well theres a reason behind it and i did a little bit of a deep dive on this one and take a look at my special report on 3rd parties. Who am i. Why am i hear ya when was eve the 1902 independent partys Vice President ial nominee with ross perot where was he the v. P. President ial debate stage this is a movement that came from the people weve seen 3rd Party Candidates on the ballot for years i was not put on a ballot by either the 2 parties i was not put on the ballot write a pac money 94 lobbyist money by need special interest money no modern 3rd Party President ial candidate has come close to the stage let alone close to winning yet they Still Campaign as long as we admit that we all have an equal right to run for election we should not engage in this political bigotry yes anyone can run but there are institutional barriers in the u. S. Election system that make it impossible for 3rd Party Candidates to get any attention and to not run an independent campaign against that person yeah ok you. Raise your hand now if you dont make that pledge tonight turns out the biggest way to get attention was. The president ial debate stage and to get on it you have to go through the commission on president ial debates controlled by other republicans and democrats who dont want to see a 3rd Party Candidate the Commission Sets the rules and theres only one 3rd Party Candidates must have at least 15 percent and the National Polls to get onstage so what theyve told of the 3rd parties is if you want your voice heard if you want to be seen then you already have to have had your voice heard by 15 percent of the people and they have to have liked it enough to already want to vote for you otherwise nobody can see it but they already cant shia political experts say the quote winner take all mentality in u. S. Elections forces voters to ditch the Weakest Party for more viable option. Ultimately squeezing out 3rd parties so in other words youre not always voting for the candidate you like or the one that really represents all of your use youre voting against the candidate you dont like so how do we fix it there is a solution called voting and everybody should know about it and demand that we have it the people in the state of maine just got it it does away with any possibility of a split election spoilers and make sure that we have candidates elected by majorities and it gets rid of negative campaigning it sounds simple on the surface but how does rank Choice Voting actually work all right so lets say we have 3 candidates howland myself and rick voters head to the polls and rank their candidates based on preference 1st 2nd and 3rd that parts easy its all the votes actually get counted well then the system gets a little harder to understand so if it gets more than 50 percent of the 1st place votes he wins thats the end of it but lets say he doesnt and instead these are the results where the person in last place sorry holland gets eliminated now anyone who chose rick as their 1st choice will instead have their 2nd choice counted as a full vote that changes the results turns out most of hollands supporters like me better than rick and now the results look like this so even though i wasnt the majority or the plurality is 1st choice i win however theres only one state that does this maine the good news it doesnt need to get passed by Congress Rather just at the state level but if you still have no hope for a 3rd party remember this the end of the 2016 president ial election ended up with just 2 candidates but we all remember the debate of 16 on the republican side so when the old cliche excuse of we cant have 3 people on the stage its too many well it appears that excuse is gone now. And you know rick its interesting because as we have been comparing to see. If trump has either gained or lost voters in different states and how he did in 2016 you know i have to say you always saw in certain states especially battleground states at least 2 to 3 percent for gary johnson you know that i think was maybe the last time we kind of you know from the road win though there minimized the right to minimize the 3rd Party Candidate right under but at least theyre on the ballot you know at least on the ballot at least theyre making some headway here this year nothing it is just one or the other and its interesting to see this year you know as somebody who because i work at this network which is a Global Network and we look often times what we say about other countries and oftentimes we use the term lack of democracy and then. Theres really a lot that can be said about the lack of democracy in our own Voting System in ways i mean not only is it because of the Electoral College most people dont understand why there are wonder why we cant just use a plurality but i think the most important thing and i think this is what comes out in your report is that we have Party Stalwarts who choose the people that we get to choose from so is it really a democratic choice if the decision is being made for us you get to choose between one from column a and one from column b. But youre not look at youre not allowed to look at column c. Or d. In the end not to be hypercritical but i think thats an important question that we as a nation from time to time probably should ask ourselves and you look at canada for example who has 98000000 people they have 5 parties a country of 320000000 americans only have 2 what are we afraid of exactly afraid of what we have more choice because thats the toughest suite is joining us now shes our stellar correspondent from los angeles to fill us in on how things are looking right now out west shes been looking at a couple of states for us interestingly enough novato is one of the states shes looking at right now i mean were not even getting im looking at nevada and were getting 00 precincts reporting and very Little Information on that its supposed to be a biden state but i guess no news yet but the tosser. Yeah this year is certainly a different kind of election and we see you know texas is leaning red but of course that one too is still too early to call biden claiming california Washington State or in new mexico and colorado President Trump wins utah wyoming and idaho results are still trickling in for arizona where polls closed more than an hour ago and officials in Denver Colorado theyre tallying ballots boarded up with plywood erected out of fear of demonstrations or violence and we also just heard that there is an Unlawful Assembly being reported in Downtown Los Angeles near the Staples Center Los Angeles Police were encouraging businesses today to close early anticipating those potential riots and curfews were enacted in a handful of cities like Beverly Hills and many voters in texas showing up in person today but in california people clearly taking advantage of mail and voting as there are virtually no lines many looking to Arizonas Senate race the husband of former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords mark kelly is running against senator Martha Argerich sally a former air force combat pilot well kelly is a retired astronaut and has been vocal about gun control since his wife was shot back in 2011 colorados republican senator losing his seat to democratic former Governor John Hickenlooper and in alaska the incumbent dan sullivan hes fighting for his seat against independent Al Gross Gross call soul of an a pump it a puppet rather for trump and soul then criticizes grose for his views on drilling in the arctic so rick unfair and may not know the results for the alaska race until 1 am eastern time and of course were still closely in the state of arizona at this hour or 2 to talk this week natasha thank you and you know rick its going to be very interesting youre calling nothing yet with nevada youve got to remember and look at nevada for what it is it is the Hotel Tourism industry capital of basically of the United States maybe the world you had grown. Virus comment and you had a lot of those places shut down its going to be really interesting and watch and see what those hotel Union Workers are going to do that they want to keep the economy open do they want to stay safe from the interesting to watch were going to be watching it and one other thing were watching right now is whats going on outside the white house our own has been monitoring the situation there more and more people are joining the fray sort of speak so far theyre maintaining the peace or at least they were last time we checked in ben whats the situation. So weve got a couple more arrests read since the last time we talked its all happening down kind of the end of black lives matter clause a here so its not right where we are right now behind me if you look you probably noticed there are a lot fewer people than there were the last time we talked to you the reason for that is probably 5 minutes ago or so there was a lot of hopping going on it sounds like firecrackers being set off down at the end matter of laws and about half of that crowd took their flags and they began walking down that way right now that we havent heard any more noise we started following but we need to become back in order. But it doesnt look like it was anything too serious but there is this popping kind of reoccurring popping and starting to go on we have started to see some people for lack of a better term starting to melt down out here a little bit but there was one woman who came by she was in tears and very frustrated saying you know just frustrated with everything thats going on right now so thats kind of whats happening right now more and more who were seen or people who are kind of the situations devolving a little bit but its not you know violent its not been tremendously messy people dont seem to be getting aggressive with each other so were keeping an eye on whats happening out here though as the night goes on no question about it more and more people are. Frustrated its not what they thought it was going to be lets put it that way at this time of night at this point in the evening what is what is transpiring so far is not what they expected yeah theres no reason this. Celebrate although maybe what theyre popping off in fireworks was something they were expecting to use later in the night to celebrate and now theyre just firing them anyway at least ill have my fingers crossed but thats what it is right. There. You have been following the situation there for us with a bunch of people around them and lets get over to tyro tyrrell is following the situation on the other side of town there you see the capital the Iconic Capital shot behind him we should let our viewers know something all of us who work and toil here in our Nations Capital have seen in the last 3 or 4 days which is it almost seems like when you come into washington d. C. Right now and the closer you get to the white house the more you see that. Almost every building has now plywood outside of it anything that was glass is now plywood its almost like the city is boarding itself up preparing for any eventuality right kyra. Oh most definitely as as in the last last week really you saw a lot of the Big Chain Stores the big corporate conglomerates stores you know they were really quick to put boards up probably coming down from the from headquarters but then you saw them then later you saw a lot of little mom and pop shops and more independent Business Owners putting boards up today around town and definitely in places that you you wouldnt normally expect like you kind of expected downtown but even when you got out into some of the like outer ring suburbs and things like that you saw a lot of the gas stations c. V. S. Is pharmacies places like that putting boards up one of the things that was interesting is i talked to the election official this week who was out you know work in the polls and more and taken peoples votes and put in the ballots in and they told me that surprisingly there wasnt a lot there was no incidents whatsoever during the voting process here that they could that they saw or could report on and they also told me that even today as the big day smaller crowds than expected and here tonight in downtown d. C. Again apart from more bends one is out of black lives matter plaza in front of the white house the rest of the city very quiet very dark even the Police Presence here in Freedom Plaza as has really disappeared in the last hour or so far not very many squad cars going by with the lights on so things are real quiet on this side of town. You know a question for you is far as what were seeing right now looking at the map it looks like there is a possibility that we might not know tonight who this winner is were still waiting on a number of these states obviously but you know for example we all know usually texas by this hour is already called red were still waiting on this what say you know youre absolutely correct we cant underscore enough the the mail in absentee ballots those came in and droves and its going to take a while to count them and i think that were not going to see this election finalize or even know anywhere close to a call for some of the most important states in terms of the battleground states until possibly from time to morrow its going to be again a nail biter but were definitely in for a long haul i dont think that tonight or even over the next few hours were going to be able to 100. 00 with 100 percent accuracy say that anyone has made their match to that to 70 or out its going to its going to be a while i do see that fox news is projecting that donald trump just want to go so i think thats interesting but until life the other nation other stations break it come going to wait wait and see what happens but yeah were seeing that from them right now looking at ohio right now as a matter of fact as soon as you said that im looking at the map the problem with that projection and im not im not quibbling with fox news dare i say that they usually do a very good job in the prognostications but cleveland to lido columbus cincinnati parts of those d have not come in yet so those are usually pretty blue so theres still a possibility that those could come in just to underscore the fact that we are not yet ready to call ohio and the so seated press who we usually partner up with has not called ohio yet either it is it does something that will. At this point were still waiting on both florida georgia North Carolina and the fact of the matter is we know that places like pennsylvania have been saying look folks were not going to be ready to make our announcement on this night because we just have too many votes because of the way the system is its going to take too long for them to be able to make this call so it really is starting to look at this point anyway like we may not have a. Decision or a projection about who our next president s going to be no youre absolutely correct rick and i think that going into this looking at the sheer amount of mail in ballots that were cast this shouldnt actually be a surprising scenario i would actually be frustrated if people were trying to call it tonight meanwhile knowing that there are millions about ballots across the country that were still yet to have been counted i think that for now it is you know making sure that every single vote is counted we know how important that is and waiting to make those problems cations and so we actually see those things come through because the issue with calling it early is that you could be entirely wrong 345 even 6 hours from now so i definitely think that we just need to hold our worth is wait and see what happens but let me say what the issue is with calling it late it becomes a matter for lawyers Scardino Hughes joining us now along with holland as well to continue this conversation i mean if this thing drags on for a couple days were going to have some of the highest paid lawyers in the United States of america essentially working for the democrats and then the other highest paid lawyers in the nation who were chosen to picked by the democrats are going to be working for the republicans and this thing is going to end up well as some might say in ugly ville going to have sorry to burst your bubble right but i think you were reporting i saw this lawyer says teams of lawyers have been in place for a while already in those states looking at it so this is no shock no surprise and the good news is they were prepared for the situation but it does make it prolong. But lets just hope its not as much of a media circus as what we saw during the hanging chads movement where theyre holding him up to the like to see whether or not who is voting for lets hope that were a little bit more advanced than we did during the last go round and its a little bit more efficient you know it seems to me all and i mean if youre still a part of the conversation which i think you are that the idea that we would be looking at another 2000 election the idea of those thing goes to the wire it ends up with lawyers fighting back and forth just not a pretty picture show of hands who among us here on the panel thought it was going to be over tonight. There was. A i thought there was a loss of billy there and then i have very good chance that it was then were going to hear it says here one of the producers asked if i was available tomorrow night. Well i guess that. I had a rare and extremely unscientific poll on twitter was often asked in my fastball oh am. Which do you expect to hear the president call for tonight stop counting or keep counting yeah and assata counting 164 to 36 percent now you know darn well hes over there get ready for a fake balloon drop and hes going to try and gaslight all of the trumpeters into thinking the partys over but i predict theyll be on t. V. With you know morrow night. And were going to be on t. V. Tomorrow night anyways with them because at this point what regardless we are going to see an autopsy start the 2nd we have a winner were going to have a loser in both parties are going to be talking about why their team watched and what doing so were going to be on anyway you know its interesting to see. States which im looking at right now that you would think would already have been called trump has led georgia from beginning to end he leads it now by 8 points 76 percent of the precincts a reporter. And so can i as it rains like now just just a fit to put a final point on this it seems now like some of the reporting agencies are getting shy about making calls so heres my question for this hour as we know this interviewer also have to go because either side its what weve been reporting on all night weve got some issues in the streets right now and obviously the closer we get to a winner youre going to have a reaction from the opposing posing side in this case if they were going to call georgia florida North Carolina texas you know things that were pretty much are probably going to go that way anyways its going to put even more in that number and all that does is ratchet up the heat out in the streets and the longer that we have that wretched he without a solution i think we cause more trouble and turmoil and nobody wants to see any city in america barring the news is the news no i mean if the calls have to be made of the projections are and then the projections are in i mean you know you cant a mission mentioned call that fox news made which we have not yet right now and you have called i like her but between our panels ive been channel surfing around out there and fox news has been the most aggressive all night of any of them and its what we talked about before there are now more news channels the news stories and theres a quest to get it 1st sometimes at the expense of getting it right and let me show we were talking a little bit a while ago a little while ago i should say about africanamericans and the sense in the Africanamerican Community that they have certainly been slighted as well they have theres no question about that for many years now. There was a. There was word on the street that the African American vote would coalesce around joe biden especially when we started to see president barack Obama Holding these rallies in places like florida and pennsylvania if it comes up a little bit short for the blue team do you think it was bidens candidacy that maybe wasnt able to push the africanamerican vote to where perhaps it was for barack obama. Well to reframe this a little bit i think that the africanamerican vote is going to come out in large number we know that around the we know that around the early voting totals we know that most of the new voter drive was basically from africanamericans and solved and that historically speaking barack obama reached epic levels regardless of what Demographic Group that you cut around any time you have the 1st black somebody to do something youre going to see more black and he was the album around that so i think that its quite unfair to compare barack obama to joe biden that sense but there are so many people specifically in the Africanamerican Community that want to see that continued obama biden legacy and i think that having barack obama on the campaign trail actually helped to solidify that to a certain extent but i would also say secondarily in kaamelott harris being an excellent b. P. Choice because not only do black people see themselves in her shes a member of the by 9 africanamerican sorority and Fraternity Groups she is a h. B. C. You graduate the 1st one for a Major Party Ticket theres a lot that goes through this ticket that makes sense for the Africanamerican Community and is a little that live in by the heritage of people who look like me so i think that were definitely going to see those numbers across the country in terms of the representation im not worried about the africanamerican vote going for you know going where it needs to be in the Democratic Base im more worried about and i think that the Democratic Party that necessarily take into account as much as they should the latin x. Both africanamericans i know where thats going to go every year it was a lot x. Just as we thought figures could not get more interesting they are continuing to get interesting and when we say interesting its not because anything dramatic has happened in fact its kind of the lack of drama at this point where were almost at a standstill we have reached a stalemate proportions on this night as you look at that big map that weve been showing you throughout the night we can tell you that there just hasnt been a lot of movement on this thing i dont think that weve made a call in the last 45 minutes or so and usually about this time is when you start making repeated calls so yeah theres something rotten in denmark at this point as far as what we were thinking could happen whether it was going to be a call for trump or a call for biden right now it looks like its going to be a call for no one you know and its one of those things where like you said for 45 minutes weve just kind of been sitting here but one guy that hasnt been sitting there hes been watching the numbers over and over and over again we have boom bust host brunch abor who is going to bring us some of those latest numbers if hes got any bright and well the numbers are still coming in and just said no calls as of yet and to your point i think it was roughly 45 minutes ago when we called the utah which if you follow american politics was not a highly contentious. State in this president ial election in fact if you look at this map no battleground has been called as of yet so those big races that weve been looking at and weve been looking at for months the candidates have spent you know so many trips to these states and were not seeing any results as of yet but i did want to go through the numbers that we do have in some of these battlegrounds lets start with florida which it appears it may be getting away from Vice President biden at this point. 98 percent reporting 51 percent for donald trump 47 percent for joe biden of course as is the case of florida we could see these counts go into the night into tomorrow and if theres any chance for the Vice President you would imagine Election Officials are going to make sure that all the votes are counted because thats why so many people have voted in fact weve seen record turnout. Records for 4 recent years in these elections. This year so its something to keep in mind about how many votes were seeing not just the interesting way that theyre coming in it as far as when it comes to mail and voting is an early early voting but also just the sheer number that were seeing lets check into North Carolina which was seen as a battleground but again. The numbers are close 93 percent reporting 49 percent for President Trump 48 percent for Vice President biden at this time lets check in with pennsylvania next were going to go to pennsylvania and see where things are so again remember they dont count the early vote especially the mail in vote they could not start opening them until this morning the morning of election day and actually at this point now were past midnight eastern time that was yesterday morning they couldnt start opening 52 percent reporting 56 percent right now for President Trump and 41 percent for joe biden although as weve talked about many times those states that count the in person voting 1st those are likely going to show a little bit of republican right away those who counted their early votes diverse and shows going more towards joe biden our next state were going to ohio ohio was not necessarily it became more in play in the last couple of weeks but it had been generally seen as favoring President Trump well with 94 percent reporting were seeing 53 percent to President Trump 45 percent to. Vice President Biden going to michigan and this is going to be a big deal here because. It appears that if Vice President biden is to win the white house hes going to need at least wisconsin michigan arizona and pennsylvania so heres what we see what we moved already to wisconsin thats 560 percent reporting in wisconsin we have 51 percent for President Trump and 46 percent for Vice President biden at this time and then finally i want to check in with arizona which is our last battleground state again the democrats have this in play heavily 74 percent reporting 53 percent for Vice President biden 45 percent for donald trump and just a reminder again thats one of those states that counts the early votes right away and thats why youre seeing that large margin right now for Vice President biden but when we get to the early vote when we see that in person voting for the day rather thats when were really going to have to keep an eye on how that margin tightens up and how close it ends up getting record fared here is the interesting story and i mean you know we have been hearing for the better part of the last 2 months that the path for President Trump would be a very difficult one but lets put up the map right now and show you exactly what that path might still be so the conventional wisdom is that mr trump had to win florida and georgia and North Carolina i dont know if youre able to see those there i dont think you are but youre looking at them anyway over there that he had to go on to win pennsylvania and ohio and arizona well interestingly enough at this point the trend seems to be showing that the president can very well accomplish that goal if present trends continue so just to let you know. That what was once. Not plausible is now becoming quite possible and thats where the story is right now and we also have a story too coming out just outside of the white house were going to send it over to our ben swan who is sitting up there for us whos been monitoring the situation and you were talking last last half hour about hearing pops possibly fireworks whats going on out there now. Apparently that is exactly what it was fair and it was fireworks but it was not quite what we thought it was multiple reports to us tell us that it was a group of empty for about a block away from here who came through the area and they started setting off those fireworks and they actually started threatening the journalists on the other side who were set up over there telling them to get out of the area that they shouldnt be there and threatening their safety and they were the ones who were setting up the fireworks now they didnt stay very long kind of rolled through didnt even really stop for a long movie but shut off the fireworks i guess is intimidation and then move on from there so they have left the area at least for now as for what i mentioned to you that there was a group behind us who kind of moved that group has not come back so i dont know if they joined up with those folks who are walking through but they have not come back so weve lost about a half the crowd that was behind us out here and maybe part of it is exactly what rick was just just talking about this idea that they were supposed to be a very difficult for the president tonight it doesnt look like as i did the cold it seems to be maybe folks decided that theyre not going to stick around anymore what was going on back here and theyre moving on to do other things throughout the evening tonight but thats at least an update as to what was happening here those fireworks that went off about 10 minutes ago were in fact set off and you know band its one of these things we were just mentioning rick was just saying weve been kind of sitting stagnant here for about 45 minutes now not making any calls you have states like texas that would totally be called by now are you seeing as the night is going on and nothing is happening that tension is. What are you saying. Well we felt the tension building but as i said that a lot of the folks who remember i said to you guys a couple hits ago that the mood had changed it was a different kind of atmosphere out here in that things were starting to look very very different see there is a tension starting to build up certainly. As we watch that happening right one of the things that we have to keep an eye on is that there are people who are d getting bored theyre tired of waiting and they werent expecting that it was going to take that long to begin with in the 1st place right they thought this was supposed to be a quick night as opposed to be over with quickly its not working out that way the night is dragging on and even as it drags on it doesnt seem to be dragging on in the favor of anyone who was voting against a ruling against the president tonight so i do think thats part of it but there is a frustration and as i said the folks who are behind us the ones who seem to be the agitators the most in terms of agitators theyve left theyre not here anymore so really whats left here is very much Smaller Group maybe half the number of people that we saw before these are the people who are pretty theyre pretty relaxed and pretty chill its not like the group that was here carrying around the gas masks and looking like they were looking for trouble and we thank you for being out there on the front lines for us well keep in touch with you stay safe let us know if you need anything thanks. For joining us once again to talk about the situation as it stands right now it is interesting to take a look at where we are at this point if you play the expectations game then the president of the United States is winning. Well i think that President Trumps path seems to be a little bit more broad than what was originally diagnosed by several people and that is it turned out to be a game day decision is what it appears to be a feel thing that there is there is a lot left in this night several states that still need to be call particularly those that have been key battlegrounds from start and were not going to know those for hours possibly a couple days so i still think that you know there are several places that are in play but for the for President Trump the Trump Campaign i could imagine them feeling a little bit more cozy right now than they probably did a few hours ago do you think the president at this point is thinking that all the criticism he got toward the end for some of his times lambasted statements that he was making at some of his rallies which we said oh my gosh it doesnt seem like hes being kind it seems like hes perhaps being too loud yet it resonated enough with the people who are his fans to make them want to go to the polls perhaps more than the kind nice quiet grandpa figure. Well that tells me something more about the character of america when you can get by by being brash being nasty by not being willing to take to take responsibility for your failures and leadership if thats something that america thrives on at best something that people at his rallies thrive on more and more power to them i pray for their souls but i do think that there is something to be said about this bullish nature that President Trump has that hes always had he didnt just have it when he walked into the white house there is a concerted group of his base that is actually you know thrilled by those things but more than that i think that there is a population that buys into the rhetoric a population that believes that the more diverse this country becomes the harder its going to be for them to maintain the status quo a population that is ok with child separations a population that is ok with pushing against racial progress there is a population of america that is absolutely all right with a lot of the social ills that have occurred across this country and that quite frankly its disturbing yeah it almost comes down to tell me who you hate follow you more and i think. In deference to donald trump thats kind of the way both sides are playing though right i mean are we more interested in what we dont like than what we do. Well i think that this is just a more macchiavelli and type of thing where you see a president where his fear me or love me and i think that he chose in his cave that he wanted to be adored by people but he also wanted to showcase that those people who are from the blue states are the things that did not vote for him but he could still have a process of trying to steamroll quite frankly if disappointing but were watching it day in and day out and i think that this whole reliance on suburban women which keno mean suburban white women has shown itself to be a path that pollsters were just highly incorrect about. Let me see across thanks so much for bringing us that and i think weve got another i think finally weve been waiting it seems for more than an hour now but i think we finally have another call and i think you know brant im not going to lie i think we all would love to be on this tiny Little Island across the pacific ha at this point we certainly would call y. E has officially been projected for Vice President biden 4 electoral votes will go to Vice President and just a reminder for those i dont know its on the screen all day if you follow us election you know remember were trying to get to 270 thats where were trying to get and without all of this starting to fill in well were not going to see that possibly tonight so were going to keep an eye on that record fair and let me show you how President Trump gets to 270 give me the big map i want our viewers to see what the president s path is right now which seemed some point to be something that we can pick up. Here it is our theres the big map im going to show you what the president needs to get he needs to get florida he needs to get georgia he needs to get North Carolina he needs to get pennsylvania ohio and arizona if the president gets those states he has 272 electoral votes and he is now the next president of the United States or should i say remains the president of the. Knight it states that path that at one point seemed very very difficult to achieve is now looking like something he can achieve because at this point he seems to be up there hes up there hes up there and hes up there as well by the way ohio hes up the only place where the president still looks like hes got some work to do is in arizona that is how the situation stands right now christiane is standing by for us and shes going to fill us in on i guess christie your expertise that the world of business i dont think ive spock i have spoken to one person that i know whos either a money manager or c. E. O. Or someone in the Business Community who is not pulling for donald trump so a good night for donald trump is usually a good night for big business isnt it. Absolutely like this was supposed to be a blue wave and then if not a blue wave and it was supposed to have been a landslide victory for biden over trump but now im of markets are not so sure and you can see the market already pricing it in as we go on because you see those massive shorts crees unleashed in the nasdaq which resulted in explosion of the nasdaq up to about 3. 9 percent so futures are nasdaq jumped as simpy index jumped another 1. 6 percent and now these gains are coming in as investors hoped that hope that a delayed or contested election is going to be avoided so this recent uptick its a little bit of a relief theyre feeling that theyre looking forward to having this huge overhang finally lifted and removed but aside from that yes all of businesses all of the corporates they are hopeful that trump is going to make all of these tax cuts permanently Going Forward make and you see this massive rotation happening in the market right now because just a couple weeks ago we were expecting those blue wave but now the sentiment is gradually changing and the market is this great betting prediction arena so where now instead of seeing a massive risk. Trade youre seeing a massive read deflationary trade which is good for treasuries growth and tech names so its interesting because on the one hand wall street was thinking well it wont be so bad with biden because you know we can pretty much control him as they kind of did with the Obama Administration i mean thats just the way things really went. And at the same time if we get biden in there were probably going to get more stimulus and thats going to stimulate the economy so itll probably be better for all of us on the other hand if trump comes in were going to be able to keep the tax base low and then were all going to make a lot of money i think what im getting to here kristie and i think youre probably following my drift is they will no matter whos in office. They do when no matter whos in office and previously when they were rooting for biden it was mainly a shift in sentiment being like oh we have to accept biden if hes going to become president now were going to have to accept these massive tax hike but then youre absolutely right the benefit to that was that biden would have introduced a massive fiscal stimulus policy in which case he would have printed massive amounts of dollars which would have mainly benefited the one percent so that would have been the case if the democrats win yes we would have seen a massive drop initially in the market as they get hit over the head and you have about a. P. s loss of about 20 percent in the s. And p. That was already expected and that is why we are already seeing the drop last week however that would have been a short term thing because a massive fiscal stimulus would have rallied up the market again because as we like to say never fight the fed never fight the government and never fight the largest possible policy which basically just prints this unlimited amount of stimulus into the market so that stimulus as predicted by Goldman Sachs that would have lasted present by that until 2023 which case then we would have run out of stimulus we would need additional helicopter money to last us to 2024 but at that point that becomes someone elses problem for having about 4040000000000. 00 excuse me in debt oh that helicopter money kristie stay there we may be coming back to you in just a little bit but i think after that conversation it behooves us to bring in the lead can lead. Yeah should i say wall street apologies. At one point dont we have to pay the piper i mean how much can you borrow i mean if you add up what obama and bush and trump have now essentially borrowed there i mean i dont know i my households not like that you dont know what seeds economy what happens christine let me bring you back into this conversation with i think is an interesting point we what are we up to now Something Like 2120 trillion or Something Like that ive lost count but if we continue to borrow and borrow and borrow and the debt and the deficit continues to increase are we essentially handing china and to a certain extent russia and other countries an opportunity to dollar rise the world economy. Absolutely because at a certain point the dollar literally becomes useless and especially when you add on top of that the coronavirus pandemic that is going to wreck havoc on the u. S. Economy because even with all this to missed you dont really expect the u. S. Economy the actual real g. D. P. To grow right now especially when youre still looking at this massive amount of unemployment this massive amount of like people still working from home where is the growth where as consumers spent the entire economy has been relying on Consumer Spending for the last 4 years of trials presidency and now with the consumer segment this batter with very little income very little savings a savings have been depleted over the last 6 months this high unemployment and now going to 4 q were looking at the worst Retail Consumer sumption season on record there is nothing to boost u. S. G. D. P. So if we keep on printing and of g. D. P. Growth is unable to keep up with that then the u. S. That map right there if you check on any of the anybody else theyve already speckled and put their colors on stage at the a. P. And you and bret your Fact Checkers are making sure before you call a state it is done so when bret says these embers people might be looking at all but the states are going to know it has its not 100 percent fact i want to give you a lot of credit for that and scott i mean thats thats something we tried to do here at r. Its going to make some kind of statement here at some point i know at this point this is conjecture but if you could put your analyst hat on for us and try and figure out what the thinking may be for team blue here analysts had it on rick and im glad you asked that i think that moving forward what joe biden is going to do is try to quell some of the fears democrats who are you know basically some who are in heart attack mode right now trying to figure out whats going to happen with some of these state i think hes going to tell them sit back hold your horses this is going to take a few more hours could possibly take a few more days relax i think that hes going to try to calm them down and let them know that this is not the end of the road and that these votes are coming in very slowly and that you know this is a tighter race than some people thought it was going to be but i think this is him trying to calm the nerves of some unsteady democrats right now thats fair analysis good stuff mischa to hang out of you what it means youre going to be coming back to you but the hall and i see you waving your hand i know its got to you got something to say about those 2 but im joe biden jog up onto that stage and i have one project the real time electoral vote count and say so far so good lets all go home and get a good nights sleep no one has a happy face on it one of the no one hours past his bedtime one of the New York Times reporters online made a note of a cliffhanger wisconsin is that in some of the jurisdictions they will not announce an absentee vote total until they have counted all the absentee votes so theres a lot of corks and one of the strengths of our system and why it really hasnt been hacked the way it is is because paper rocks yeah you know weve got 51 different ways to count votes in the usa and nobody can just bang into the motherboard and change the numbers on a study you have a historical reference on by then making a decision to make the. But i think is interesting and salient absolutely both campaigns right now i think are being haunted by the ghost of 2016 and were going to look at the Biden Campaign one of the greatest mistakes i think Hillary Clinton did that night as she never came out and addressed her audience she actually set out her Campaign Director which was a big red flag and everybody then speculated what her Mental Health was like that point bidens not going to make that mistake hes going to come out and be optimistic full of energy on the reverse you do have dont trump he has set up over the eastern theyre serving french fries and president ial cups and its a complete opposite i kid you know french fries and rather than just being passionate sounds pretty good right. There he set out to do a very private it looks like its a lot of the former staffers people there that a bit of part of the administration hes going to give a speech as well i dont see teleprompters actually going to be in this either so his is going to be very impromptu speech i think which will be very interesting to see what message hes going to try to send his supporters to hold on i dont think either one will declare victory completely tonight so that would be pretty brazen if they did know right i think at this point its about everybody and you know we have to make note its 12 34 in the morning right now folks its november 4th we have officially become an election morning show at this point but its one of those things where at this at this point we also have to go send it over to the press host Steve Malzberg who is now joining in with us steve what are your what do you make of all of this right now. Aside from that well you know there was a controversy and i have to be honest i dont know if you guys addressed it or not if you did stop me but fox news declared that arizona would when to joe biden and after they made that declaration fox news acknowledged that they caught a lot of heat from the trunk camp who objected strenuously to that call but not only did not only did the did the trump camp object subsequently the governor of arizona and others. From the republican establishment in that state said we havent counted a lot of what are good to be read votes we havent counted votes from some of the places that Trump Campaign what are you doing so they withdrew their their check mark. From arizona tonight and thats hardly now its now its back in play one thing that also bothers me philadelphia and some other counties stopped counting there they write in votes early like it was 1030 or 11 oclock were done for the night will resume tomorrow morning i dont think thats the way to do it i think that that just raises the questions of possibility of what what donald trump and others had feared would happen from philadelphia theyll see how many votes they need in a somehow theyre going to come up with them so you want if you just finished counting the vote steve we got a call and this is not going to surprise you or anybody else here because we have been saying all night long it looks like florida and georgia were going to be going in this direction here we have now to confirm what we thought would be inevitable take away brown and florida has officially the Associated Press is projecting President Donald Trump will win florida and its 29 electoral votes at or and our map should update shortly but it will be 174 for President Trump at this point to 223 for a Vice President biden were still waiting on georgia North Carolina but based on what weve seen they could follow suit still before the end of the evening and getting that kind of red southeastern core door for the president and then its really going to leave it up to that blue wall in midway in the midwest that you know really President Trump took advantage of in 2016 to defeat Hillary Clinton so that could be where we are by the end of the night if arizona goes as steve just mentioned where fox news is projecting were not ready to project that yet. Until the associate press gives us that project that we will keep arizona in the gray right now but thats what were looking at right now rick and fair and so just to take a good look at it now if you could joe lets put the big map up one more time and i think i dont we dont there you go i was going to say what im going to florida thank you very much. So were were waiting on georgia were waiting on North Carolina were waiting on pennsylvania were waiting on michigan were waiting on wisconsin texas interestingly enough novato i would have thought would have come in by now i dont understand still whats going on in nevada and arizona seems to be the fox news dispute do we give it to trump or do we take it away from top i guess fox news has decided that those who give it can take it away whatever dream do you know that its not a bad fall into fox news wow i never would have imagined i could have to leave bringing you into this conversation now as things are shaking out what do you think and well im thinking we would know a lot more right now we would have a lot more analysis going on if they gave us the freaking general exit polls but they stopped doing that you know theyll say this many women voted or people thought health care was a rodent but they wont tell you the general exit polls because guess what they kept being off and they kept being off because people are purged or theres machine stuff going on but in a lot of countries exit polls are done very well and people look to them to see if there was fraud and if there are over 2 percent off from the actual vote then there was some kind of fraud and you know you look at what just happened in bolivia even before the count came in they had the exit polls and they looked at them and they said guess what we won we got rid of the u. S. Backed coup and they knew that from the exit polls and you could do that you could do it but we dont do it here in this well known nobody ever said our system was perfect. You know you know its interesting about texas and i got to say this when i was down there for the 2008 election when i covered but to work and ted cruz i want to say that im not surprised that texas now. Is theyre still waiting but when you look back at that race went back to our work and Ted Cruz Ted Cruz only won by a good 2 percentage point knows how to use this kind of the most hated guy in the senate you know hes not even on the republican side lets say so i will say im not shocked that im not seeing anything from texas but still again it is also shocking at the same time to also mention the big state that i thought somehow theres a lot of rural areas in texas where we think of metropolit dallas i was just there 2 weeks ago theres still a lot of places out there that a lot of them are rural farms and small little towns trying to get their votes and they want to make sure theyre accurate before they make the call have everybody given their vote weve just gotten some news that the Vice President s motorcade his vehicle has arrived i think i dont know if we got a shot of that but the parent lee hes still there its starting to look like hes going to be coming out any moment now we are seeing just the people and their supporters and their cars and one of these car rallies that he. Former president obama have had were told that hes still in his vehicle and will probably will soon be making his way to the podium my god this is starting to feel a lawful lot like al gore back in 2000 isnt it and i was there i was there national in al gore that was a very hard as we were there with all the kids are right next to the legislative plaza you know theres a very embarrassing night i think was right about this time here on saturday i am out and then he said he was going to. You know concede and then he decided wait no im not going to concede a lot like whats going on right now with arizona. As you see a situation like this where there is confusion this did not this does not bode well for our democracy which does not bode well for a sense of certitude in our country as far as all the people that lead have been lead has been talking about to us who feel disenfranchised and now theyre watching this and theyre wondering. If things can probably get any worse well you know i think a lot of people knew it would be like this new that you wouldnt know with that many mail in votes that many you know absentee votes knew that it would take a while to count and less it was a landslide on one side or the other it was going to take a day or 2 and i kept saying in the lead up to this that you know everybody the media needed to be talking about how this wasnt going to be decided tonight and it really part of it is expectation weve created this expectation that you announce the president the night of but its just you know you cant do it and rick you know its interesting you know now i think weve been stagnant now for a good hour and 15 minutes or so the why or why. By the way we go we get lets go to biden hes about to speak theres dr jill biden and the former Vice President biden lets take a listen. Here to. Your patience is commendable we knew this is going to go wrong but who knew we were going to go into maybe tomorrow morning maybe even longer but look we feel good about where we are. We believe one of the natchez suggests that weve already had one arizona but were confident about arizona thats a turnaround we also just. Called it from minnesota and were still in the game in georgia although thats not what we expected. Were fairly really good about wisconsin and michigan was and by the way. Its going to take time to counter those were going to win pennsylvania law was tough to function fairly Allegheny County scranton and there really encouraged by the turnout and what they see look you know we could know the results as early as tomorrow morning but it may take a little longer as ive said all along its not my place or Donald Trumps place to declare whos won this election thats the decision of the American People but im optimistic about this outcome. And he also got is that we are a huge or at least underneath a good mood i dont think you know i think the last word spoken i think from south heard what he said and if hes smart when it comes to see hes going to come out there and hes going to go an even better a more optimistic and more empowered speech on and waiting on texas to be clairvoyant to whats interesting is that you know if president matters the precedent thats been set by democrats in the past is they were always weak late to the party and as a result they usually got. Manhandled by republican operatives or just a really good at this kind of stuff republicans dont want to win this kind of thing too little its kind of interesting that hes playing before you go home and i want to bring in a me show and steve. To get their reactions to what we just saw a michelle ill start with you you were the last to comment on what you expected Vice President biden to do it almost sounds like he read the script that you wrote. I mean he is that joe biden is a statement. And i have worked in communications for the d. N. C. So i kind of know how these things go but i think that for joe biden tonight again it was reinvigorating the base letting them know hold on we still have a path its going to take a few hours possibly a few more days but do not over react do not dress and i think that he was setting expectations they are being mindful of way you know was spoken on by your panel a few moments ago that i think that to a certain extent media organizations pushed this idea that for whatever reason the thing was going to be called tonight will be quite frankly wolf and i dont think it was ever oppose to be called tonight but it helps media organizations to get people on board to watch so i think that what were seeing right now from joe biden is optimism but were also seeing the acknowledgement that a lot of these votes are going to be cast within the next few hours are going to be counted within the next few hours anyway so he is setting expectations and you know its interesting lets bring in Steve Malzberg here really quick you know its 1248. 00 the stock markets going to be opening here in about a good 3 hours you know steve what you know as far as where were at right now and you know trump is a real Big Stock Market guy were going in the balance right now we dont know what happens tomorrow. Well on the stock market i know the futures were up earlier in the night so i dont know exactly where they are right now but look i think a lot of people either expected joe biden to blow trump out of the water because hes hit larrys evil the dictator hes every name in the book women hated him they were going to vote for him and he had theres no way he should be in this position right now or they decided that or figured that its going to go to the courts eventually and i think thats where were going to be headed i think one sees ballots counted in one way or another especially in pennsylvania that law that the Supreme Court of the Court Decision that the Supreme Court lets stand they reserve the right to review it again and they will review it again because the stay in the constitution the state legislature decides the rules on federal elections and what that lower court decided was that the state Supreme Court could decide that you could postmark a boat 3 days after the election and it could be counted thats not going to stand when it eventually goes to the Supreme Court and i think pennsylvania will be the difference eventually in this election so we have a long way to go but what do you guys make of the argument that the Vice President made about the fact that a lot of the votes in pennsylvania his home state by the way he said he mentioned scranton he mentioned other parts of philadelphia he thinks that theres going to be enough there to carry him over the top and true to form if he wins pennsylvania and he wins arizona and he comes through in the 2 remaining states which is wisconsin and michigan. Then hes got it so you know to be a big picture kind of guy. Although we are accustomed to talking to the r t america audience will remind the were on internationally tonight yeah so to everyone whos watching us here in the east and everyone whos watching in europe and asia good morning and heres a and it is a useful explanation of the american system that we are serving up here tonight were explaining how things work even when they dont work so. Meanwhile here is what mr biden needs mr biden is going to need pennsylvania he needs michigan he needs wisconsin a needs arizona and obviously he needs to thats the path to victory for biden the one i just drew for trump gives him to 79 this one for biden gives him to 74 those are the 2 pass that these guys need at this point and theres a good chance theyre fighting for the same state and you could be 268 to 16 i mean there is a chance when its all done that were going to stay here to 68 to 69 for a while and we have to process every single vote in pennsylvania fact of the matter its looking like were not going to have a winner tonight i mean i think. Thats what we have as a regular part of their eyes and i was just trying to walk out and say ive won its over a good night now. I dont think any of his advisers like you take his advisors advice are saying walk out and claim winning right now because nobody wants that soundbite did you have to honcho it is surprising those and its got to we thought you told us earlier in the night and not that im questioning your report because i think it was valid that there were sources saying that the president was going to be making some kind of statement early in the day you surprised if i beat him to the punch you know i think that was the thought he need the we want to make sure im sure that the trump team wants to make that texas is declared georgias declared North Carolina the ones that we know are going to go trump wants those numbers because then he can walk out and say look at my numbers he does not when he wants to be a strong positioning he knows people are not going to bed yet when its this close i guarantee people are probably theyve got the t. V. On in the background they might have won iowa and well theyre still watching it it seemed like the message biden was putting out there was go to bed yes its cool you can go to bed and be confident that when you wake up in the morning were going to have great youre not going to sleep through a resolution you know its kind of interesting anyone sleep with the nightmares that are going through their heads right now.
