You know its funny often when we think of records we think of highlights we think of accomplishments usually of things that are positive well so i to say this is not that type of record this morning the state of florida announced that its daily death toll for corona virus is at 173. Unfortunately that is a single day highest total ever announced by the Florida Department of health since the pandemic began the previous record was set july 16th with 156. 00 deaths the trend seems to obviously be going in the wrong direction i mention this here at the top of the show not to harp on numbers which frankly can get kind of tiresome right but because its that number and others like it that is causing us citizens to feel suddenly almost. Almost ostracized they heres what i mean. This morning it is being reported that europe has officially started reopening for tourism once again yea right i mean this after months of a lockdown due to covert 19 that means theres now an expansive list of countries whose citizens will be welcomed in most European Countries today. There appears to be so much confidence in the citizens of those countries not having keyword not having code and covert 19 most of them are being let in they dont they dont have to be tested and they dont have to be quarantine they can just travel among Different Countries there is the one glaring exception. The United States of america so tonight were going to focus on travel where can you go where cant you go what are the limitations this is the news with rick sanchez where we believe we do stories like this because its time to do news again. Heres our list of the questions we think youll be asking tomorrow after watching our newscast today how limited is travel right now especially for americans our church is being attacked worldwide why is portland ground 0 for a constitutional standoff. Lets start with this you could really blame americans right now for feeling both ostracized and somewhat confused under normal circumstances countries would be opening their borders to citizens of the United States for if nothing else economic reasons. But she would know that is not the case so what we want to do is try to break this down for you by asking the question who can go were. Correspondent joining us now from the update desk to trouble you. With all these numbers coming into that question for us. So global borders being shot it isnt new for most of the world raikes try traveling with for example an iranian passport right and prior prior to covert 1000. 00 american passport gave you visa free access to 95 percent of the world while others had to spend thousands of dollars just for the privilege of being rejected anyway is now covert 1000. 00 however has suddenly made everything very different americans have now gone from x. Having access to most of the world to being banned from most of it so right now as an american and all the places you cant go so right now there are some countries that are open to u. S. Citizens now with no restrictions now theres companies theres countries like. North. And serbia now in western asia there is turkey in north africa there is tunisia then islands like the Dominican Republic and the mall deaves lastly there is mexico but only adding clothes resort to americans now the most you have to do in these countries that are open to u. S. Citizens is a Temperature Check at the airport then there are the situations that are also welcome americans a budget with restraint actions now here are just a few examples of the restrictions for example you can go to cambodia but you have to dish out a 3000. 00 coded 1000. 00 deposit kind of on realistic since a lot of Young Americans tend to travel to Asian Countries on a budget then there is a United Arab Emirates has only opened up a dubai to americans all other parts of the emirates are still closed so if your flight is the abu dhabi well expect to be. Back now countries that are requiring it 14 day mandatory quarantine either ecuador and the u. K. So also quite unrealistic unrealistic for americans they usually only have 2 weeks of vacation per year so they can spend the 1st 2 weeks in quarantine then there is jamaica which requires that travelers coming from states like new york florida arizona and texas have 2 negative test results within 10 days and then we have. Thats only welcome in americans coming on a private jet now on the other hand citizens coming from these countries there are a lot to go to right now so countries like algeria. Australia canada that only has 2 percent of the total cases the u. S. Has or a little over 100000 cases only and then japan and here we go morocco i mean the list goes on and on now these countries are currently welcomed into the you unlike the u. S. So right now the only stamp araik that makes an american passport usable is one that says vaccine on it you know its interesting as i listen to you i get the sense that not only is it difficult for americans right now to fly anywhere but if they do choose to fly somewhere the limitations that are being put on them are so big that it maybe could prevent them from preventable for them to do so. Thats thats thats really something thanks so much so i have sharing that with us we certainly appreciate it joining us now to further this discussion and talk transportation is from the n. T. S. B. A former n. T. S. B. Official jamie french jamie thanks so much for joining us there forever so i guess my 1st question is one of the business. Talk to people in the airlines all the time and lets just do a logical and the mom here right if americans can fly airlines cant have passengers if airlines cant have Passengers Airlines could be in a lot of trouble or some of these are large jaimie going to be going under. You know thats the 64 that was your question i mean. Is yet to be seen. A lot of them the major carriers a lot of them of already consolidated quite a bit and some of the smaller carriers like spread spirit or some of the frontier or some of those are the budget carriers will see how they survive but the legacy carriers like American United delta. Theyre cutting back i mean theyre literally losing millions of dollars per day. And so theyre theyre Cutting Services theyre. Cutting growth other theyre using and. Come october 1st theyre going to start cutting a lot of people wow let me ask you a question since you work for an agency who is expertise is risk right now in the e. U. And most of the countries in europe are banning americans we learned now Hong Kong Hong kong. As an entity is all but banning americans. Should we understand why theyre doing this maybe the way to ask you this question is jamie can we blame them for doing so. No not really i mean we are not following what has been the standard rules that all the other countries are following. I understand the american independence on this issue i understand theres we dont like to be being american so i like being told what to do but at the same time weve lost that kind of like were in this together attitude mainly because there has been mixed messages that has come from the top down throughout this entire process from the governors the president the local officials what have you its been a hodgepodge of of reactions and things that you need to do or dont do this or do that or in changes daily daily from day to day. And so i can see where the americans are very upset but as far as this goes this is kind of what we can expect if were not going to kind of play by the rules and play nice with everybody else than everybody else is like a list. In the house let me ask you a tough question here put you on the spot because i know you can handle it. Give me the airline you think is least likely to survive and also the one that d you think is most likely to survive when all this is out of that well i think. The least likely to survive is going to be some of the newer airlines that have less. Equity and less deep not as deep pockets like the legacy carriers but that is does not mean and say that the legacy carriers are completely inoculated from this i mean like american airlines. American legacy carriers are all American Delta united southwest also but all of those you know we use outdoors and we had brand after we had certain we had u. S. Airways all of those have consolidated to these big 3 so i think youll see. Not just the airlines. Cutting services as far as routes. Youre going to see a lot smaller planes that are going to be getting rid of some of the bigger planes that delta has already announced its eliminating its triple 7 series and a program there. Had been a huge component. For their International Travel so they let you know how much International Travel is has been impacted is there theyre just completely eliminating the triple 7 by the end of this year. Jamie fitch always a pleasure to have you and great bow tie for i think this is the news with rick sanchez youre watching our special coverage when we come back were going to look at a string of attacks on Christian Churches and statues and it appears to be happening globally well be right back stay with us. President donald trump and both men and their offices confirmed to us that they have discussed the topics of the 19 pandemic strategic arms control and Irans Nuclear program no other specific details were given but we will keep our. Asking well let you know what we learn. There seems to be a troubling trend were seeing not only in the United States but around the world churches synagogues religious symbols being attacked yesterday we told you about a string of attacks here in the United States correspondent peter all of our reports from berlin. When a fire ripped through the cathedral of st peter and paul in its last week it was watched around the world one with an Investigation Continues in that case incidents of attacks against churches and going on reported according to the observateur on intolerance and discrimination against christians in europe kristie an incidence. 285 percent since 2008 director says its not just limited to from among countries that do report those numbers are rising as well for example according to the data provided to the organization for security and cooperation in europe by the u. K. Antichristian crimes doubled from 2017 to 2018 we know that they are rising in spain germany and sweden as well statistics from the French InteriorMinistry Show an average of nearly 3 kristie and incidents every single day the numbers for here in germany less than churches are also a target. A radical feminist group claimed responsibility 440000 worth of damage after a minibus belonging to a church it was set on fire i have said before there churches are lightning rods for activists and each group has their own reasons for choosing to attack a Church Churches can represent the patriarchy authority tradition homophobia the christian west. Target churches for Different Reasons and i guess what example. These groups are more and more active these days its not just activists that. Are also calling for help from the state practically cathedrals they said must receive proper protection from civil authorities and any attacks on churches or religious images must be treated as what they are hate crimes while people like the want to protect churches they also feel the looked as christian incidents. Mentioned there is a major had to face and way over whether its of arab carried out by groups such as isis should be islamic terrorism its old news with rick sanchez from germany peter all of the good stuff peter thanks for bringing us that report so peter is reporting that theres an increase of almost 285 per cent and it goes back to Something Like 2008 we thought it would be a lot to discuss this a little bit further so were being joined by 2 guests joining us now is former u. K. Member of Parliament George galloway also the host of the steve gruber show steve gruber himself gentlemen thank you so much for being with us steve im going to begin with you because yesterday you or i had this conversation yesterday about some of the trends that weve seen more recently we decided here to dig a little deeper on this and we found out that theres really nothing new about this in fact its been going on for quite some time and it should be very bothersome to all of us the attacks on churches that seem to be increasing year to year steve to you. I tip my hat to our to you for doing this for a great story great piece or by peter oliver. Illuminating whats really going on inside to an Organization CalledGate Stone Institute says you do 10193000 attacks occurred im Christian Churches schools cemeteries and monuments all across europe everybody has to be getting a tad it happened to the United States it happens in canada it happens in europe. But to be honest with you rick its not just Christian Churches in thailand a buddhist temple attacked in Christchurch New Zealand we know what happened there with the muslims and sri lanka im Easter Sunday 260 people murdered i mean the list goes on and on and around the world it has to be an attack by an artists radical feminists as peter oliver pointed out far left and some far left right groups as well its just push for secularism and i think maybe these churches represent. The traditions of these countries whether its poland or france of United States the traditions the institutions being attacked here of Catholic Churches of mosques of you know synagogues all of this yak and its all under attack it appears in fact to your point steve im glad you said that i had one of our researchers pull some data for me listen to this last year 4 in 10 European Jews reported they considered leaving their countries because of their concern for their safety saw an increase of 52 percent in islamophobia incidents so there just to be a sudden increase in attacks for the institution of organized religion or at least maybe thats the way im seeing it George Galloway what are your thoughts. Well all that is sacred is increasingly profaned in these godless materialistic times people are turning against religion turning against the idea of god for a long time in this country churches where increasingly now theyre increasingly attacked and something that is profoundly disturbing and this that this that you pulled out just how disturbing 3. Day in europe against christian by symbols property or christians themselves this ought to be extremely alarming to the my. Media the politico the Church Hierarchy it never somehow seems to be its like a christian phobia it is the last respects to be. Allowed to have attacks on synagogues and mosques all right in lakeland and wards attacks on christianity are more ignored the deep lord yeah thats interesting why why do you think that is steve i think george of raises a really good point there and you know we have to be careful im Catholic George i think youre catholic just for himself disclosure here steve are your christian. Do you know i think he hit on something very important there and its the silence of the media in general christians are open target its free game its a free for all whether its Easter Sunday or whatever it may be and these attacks are open and what youre not seeing youre not seeing militant methodists and barbarian baptists taking to the street quite the opposite as pointed out its an arc as far left fringe focusing and i go back to to the idea that its an attack on the fundamental foundations of all of these nations of western civilization they attack the churches run the churches out because its an easy target maybe these young people went to churches and they didnt like the experience and of course the Catholic Church im im sorry to say has been has become an easier target because of all the scandals surrounding the Catholic Church so maybe this is the way its exacerbated in the public eye but it is disturbing that the media by and large turns a blind eye doesnt talk about it because like i said 3000 Christian Churches schools 700 monuments attacked in europe in one year that is a crisis its almost like a religion is not cool therefore its not covered as being such and i think you guys make some great points unfortunately were out of time my thanks to both of you steve george for being with. Thank you on this story protesters in portland have been calling out their citys mayor for months now complaining about how police have been training them heres whats weird the mayor appears to agree with the people whove been protesting him hes now joining them in a march to protest that identified federal troops that are coming into a city correspondent alex has more on the story. Approach with a metal tear gas and rubber bullets shot into a crowd after nearly 2 months of mostly peaceful protests tensions have reached new heights that the president told troops of the destruction ordered police onto the streets of oregons largest city just a few days ago. Was not speer by the u. S. Government forces weaver was tear gassed by the agents as he stood near a fence guarding a federal courthouse although jeered at times by protesters the mayor showed solidarity with the curly black. Wheeler has opposed the deployment of federal agents in his city from the start and the state has how does back let me be very clear with oregon when i spoke with the director of the department of Homeland Security last week i told him to go home and to take his federal troops with him. This is a democracy not a dictatorship however critics say the portland mayors to blame for local police using tear gas and other methods to disperse crowds prior to the arrival of the feds some local Business Leaders believe that america should have brought the the protest under control weeks ago. There were really there were no missed the people at the rallies. Protests were sharing their message. Because. The huge crowds did not seem to be cowering to the with many believing that the white. Just to point out our newest Government Agency is in fact fueling the flames instead of restoring order for news with rick sanchez i know its mileage good stuff alex thanks so much for that report you know theres Something Else that happened in portland that we thought was noteworthy a news team covering the story it was attacked by police they were clearly identifying themselves as journalists they were wearing the press badges that you see on a porters and photographers and still they were hacked with but tongs one photographer says that he was thrown to the ground and his phone was taken away now who were these reporters this news crew channel one it is a Major National network in russia and their crew is covering the story much the same way one of our crews in this country would be over there or anywhere else in the world covering a story start about this joining us now is veteran journalist Ruben Navarrette who has a lot of experience covering stories like this and trying to identify himself as a journalist which these days is a little harder to do ruben i want to 0 in on this one situation this one addict opi because i cant help but ask myself if these were american reporters abroad it be a big story that they were mistreated by who knows some other police from some other country somewhere right. Rick sanchez good to be with you yes it would be a big story it be a big story if u. S. Cruise news crews were mistreated on foreign soil and its a big story when u. S. News crews are mistreated on u. S. Soil as routinely happens in some of these operations this is a curious case of the media not covering this story as much as it should i almost think its about geography you and i know rick weve lived in a part of the country where youre in the new york d. C. Nexus you look toward europe as Foreign Policy you ignore russia you ignore china you ignore mexico latin america and that may be part of this here because youll recall that when weeks ago a british and australian cruise yeah were targeted by Law Enforcement and now with covered wall the wall is a different story but were not supposed to do that as a journalist youre supposed to you know not have a fog in front of your eyes when youre making decisions as to how you cover somebody a news crew from mexico should not be covered any less than a news crew from france of the u. K. A news crew from china a news crew from russia its a news crew youre not supposed to look at it within your own prejudices and that determines your coverage right. And right you and i are old School Journalists and this is the big story in journalism media today theres been a great sea change a big sea change in terms of younger journalists who show their biases who are nearly as objective as they should be and they all do view these stories through their own lens and so they cant help but get excited about some stories more than they do others and this is a bad story let me push through that a lot and that they hold us down i want to push back on you know a little bit is it that individual journalist is prejudice or its the prejudice perhaps he feels from the institution he works for that expects that of him to treat u. K. And china and russia and mexico differently. Could be either i mean ive talked to a Young Journalist its clear that they wear their biases often on their sleeves in ways you and i were taught not to do lets be clear any state cracking down on any drone. This is a bad thing no matter what the circumstances are this story is important the individual players they dont make it any less important yeah yeah youre right youre right we should be color blind we should be nationalistic blind or whatever that term might be. Journalists we should be journalists thank you thats the punctuation and all that well yeah thanks so much for being with us stay safe. Stay on portable t. V. Good with portable t. V.
