A National Record of 59000 cases in just one day one day across the United States one of the worst hit areas by far is the state of florida it is contributing 9000 cases a day. Or put a different way 15 percent of all cases nationally in fact just this morning that jumped to 11000 a day which would make it 19 percent if my math is correct of all the cases nationally 19 percent of all the cases are coming from florida consider this florida is just one of 50 states in the United States so thats a pretty big share there has been a suggestion that large numbers by themselves they dont really matter the president for example he said the numbers are only going up because more people are being tested floridas governor he also minimise the reason for alarm stressing that those that are being infected right now are just young people and young people tend to not need hospital care. Half the cases are in their early thirties or below and in then of the ones that are over that theres a huge bulk of them in their late thirtys and in their fortys so its been a real significant shift in terms of whos testing whos testing positive and whos testing positive at the higher rates the governor he goes on to explain that the increased numbers of young people will not have a his word clinical result it will not have a clinical result in other words that it wont result in more deaths and more hospitalizations because its just young people and they dont get that sec ok he made that statement on that the 19th of the 20th of june so that was what about 3 weeks ago right today were going to put that declaration to the test to see if thats actually the case and heres what were going to do were going to look at the numbers and were going to talk to Health Care Professionals on the front lines and one of miamis remember miami is like the hot zone of the hot zone right so were going to talk to somebody at one of the busiest hospitals in south florida right here on the news with rick sanchez where we believe it is time to do news again. Okey doke the list of the questions we think youll be asking tomorrow after watching us today whats happening inside miamis hospitals as a result of the surge in cases china snubs the u. S. Why is it opposed to meeting on weapons and why in the world is teslas stock skyrocketing today when theres. Theres no need these days for electric cars right weird all right so lets test the theory that big numbers dont necessarily translate to more deaths or more hospitalizations as both. The president and the governor of florida have seemed to suggest 1st raw numbers i just checked the latest numbers released just this morning i went in and looked and saw that according to florida officials here is what they are reporting deaths are increasing just this week theyre now reaching almost d 100. 00 per day and that is way up ok as far as hospitalizations go those numbers are also up there are up to 400 and 35. 00 per day in the state of florida they had diminished somewhat prior to this but those are numbers to get a real sense of whats happening on the ground we are joined now by dr jack michel he is an accomplished m. D. And chairman of larkin hospital in Miami Florida dr thank you so much for joining us you know youre one of the few people who happy to lee has a sense of whats going on on the ground so describe to us whether it is in fact affecting hospitalizations or not what are you seeing in your hospital. Were definitely seeing an increase in the number of admissions and the number of visits in the e. R. Actually if you look at the new normal report from Miami Dade County you also see any increase in the number of 911 rescue calls for covert 19 and you see that that went from like a few 100 to now 1000 almost a 1000 calls a day so theres a lot of that theres a significant increase in calls theres a the significant increase in admissions to the hospitals and as of now as of today i believe only 9 percent of i. C. U. Capacities are available in Miami Dade County so at several hospitals dont have i. C. U. Beds so clearly there is a d there is an increase in this what about your hospital how many hospice i. C. U. Units or beds are available now and how has that changed over the last week or so. Its we had significantly higher every ability in the last few weeks but now were down to maybe a few days if you bet prosperity so i mean were down to maybe 2 or 3 in you know in each of our hospitals but i know that the same situation is happening in all the hospitals in both miami dade and Broward County where you know the amount of people that are sick is increasing to the point that its really exhausting their ability d to to meet the demand do you also have to add to that the fact that the staff is getting sick theyre not getting sick at the hospital or getting sick at home because you know because of the situation where they do the interacting at home or with loved ones or relatives they say they come in with you know they get infected and then that takes them out of circulation for 2 weeks so its its a big issue and i know the governor sending 100 staff to jackson to help them because they were having a big issue with staffing Jackson Memorial hospital as the main state funded unit there in south florida you just mentioned you have maybe 2 or 3 beds left on last count let me ask you a question dr what happens if today you get 2 or 31000 Critical Care patients and they fill those units what happens when the 4th patient comes and what do you do with them. So thats thats the issue you know normally the hospital they go in that version this happened with a few hospitals here locally where they basically say we dont have any more beds so they have to there are 2 of the hospitals we you know we do have some alternative plans where we can turn beds that are not normally i. C. U. Beds into i. C. U. Beds of course thats a process but yeah thats what would they then have homes that is a some hospital we just say we dont have anymore i. C. U. Beds and so theyll let fire rest you know and then theyll have to that were to do all the hospitals so few. I mean at this point at the rate its going and this is you know jackson actually eat ice you director said that if it keeps coming at the same rate that they feel doubly overrun theres just no way to compensate you know to be able to expand so that capacity let me help me understand help us understand because what the president 1st said make sets we were getting more results in 1000 cases of more testing more people and then when the governor said dont worry because these are young people and theyre not going to get sick but nonetheless despite those 2 statements youre saying theyre on the ground you are seeing more hospitalizations can you explain how that happened why is that are they young people getting older people sick. You know its you know its a combination of things obviously you know it was somebody youngest sick you know and dead that person doesnt always stay away from elderly people or from people that especially because in they feel well if theyre asymptomatic you know if youre well im fine im im not sick so i can make anyone else think of that separate separate out there now having said that you know there is no age that makes you emu from dying from this disease i mean weve seen kids died at 11 or 12 years old but now probably if youre under the age of 15 you know have to worry too much but honestly we you know there are people dying in their twentys there are people dying in the thirtys people dangar fortys so theres no theres no rule that says you cant die i think like any other disease obviously people who are elderly are more likely to be affected by that doesnt mean that young people can die. Could you describe for us so we can understand since were not there nor do most of us ever want to be there what its like right now in your intensive care unit draws a picture of the feelings and the actions that are going on there as we speak. Well i mean i have to commend my staff i mean you know what at these people are just go over the above you know the call of duty theyre working hard. Theyre they are happy to be saving lives and so but its hard i mean its hard because you dont see usually this level of illness you know and especially in a situation where you have to also protect yourself so youre wearing all this equipment you know you cant really touch that patient in the human way you know without gloves or you know if you cant have that interaction you know he would have that has that healing power to it so its tough you know because its that that just separation just even just from the person going by itself and the fear i mean obviously if your Health Care Provider the last thing you want to do is bring this the euro at home so you know its a tough thing at these people who are really heroes i mean theres not mincing of those words theyre really heroes of the problems and i admire the work they do every day were talking to dr jack mashal the chairman of the larkin hospital and probably one of the most busy covered 1000 places in the untied states right now Miami Florida final question doctor given what youve described to us and given the new numbers that were seeing in florida do you think its time that we re lockdown and for governors and local officials to tell people lets close things up again for a while. I mean thats obviously an option i think we need to do is to really ramp up Contact Tracing you know what weve done at the hospitals we have a group of one. Its a vote years who we train to be contact racers Contact Tracing and testing is the is the best way you know barring you buying a vaccine to recruit these buyers we actually translate creasing course that you have there by asked association of state and territorial Officials Health officials we trusted dispatch sure now is that able is that its were about to translate into creole those things are important because that way you can call chilean appropriately dog signed by one people you know once closeted you know and those share with you contacts so i think thats key but yeah definitely wrapping up on that tracing is huge right now but right now the testing is so behind i know people in miami who called me and said we tried to take the test weve waited almost a week and a half we still havent gotten the results this is crazy dr Jacques Michel as usual i know youre very busy thank you for carving out a piece of your schedule today to be able to join us on the air and share with the rest of the world whats going on right now in Miami Florida. Not pleasure or anything. This morning china is snubbing the United States plans to hold Nuclear Disarmament talks with them and russia china seems to be suggesting that the United States is not serious about disarmament and fact it is saying that it would be quote chinas word here happy to attend the meeting if and when the United States reduces its arsenal to match chinas we checked the numbers presently china has about 900 pardon me 320 Nuclear Warheads russia has the most by the way with about 6 and a half 1000 while the United States has roughly 6000 with more on this side no push back here is r. Im holland cook i invite you to climb with me part of the Mainstream Media and from that higher fan to watch to glimpse the big picture question more. We have noticed that something kind of weird is happening on wall street i mean its crazy i dont know if you had a chance to check today but part of the story is that is happening as we speak this stock market for tesla is skyrocketing new heights i mean in the in the last 3 months in the midst of the covert my Team Pandemic right the stock has risen from approximately 6021400 beyond i think about that how is it possible that a company that makes electric cars would be gaining value at a time when no one seems to need electric electric cars because the price of gas is so damn cheap it just it boggles the mind right whats going on here here with more on these bizarre tesla numbers as our t. V. Correspondent but the sweet. Is the success of test a game changer for the electric car maker or is this recent growth in its stock merely a bubble getting ready to pop tesla stock is currently trading at nearly 1400. 00 a share and it has the year 2020 to think tesla stock is up 58 percent in the past month alone. Up 155 percent in the past 3 months and 232 percent year to date and now teslas market cap rounds out at a whopping 250000000000. 00 if tesla is added to the s. And p. 500. 00 it would be a huge milestone for the company and of course c. E. O. Elon musk electric car maker shares have already surged over 500 percent in the past year but some critics arent so sure according to Mark Hurlbert a financial analyst teslas stock even if it does well over the long term is now too far ahead of itself those like holbrook believe tesla stock is merely forming a bubble in part through short stocks but those expecting tesla stock to crash have even received attention from musk im self must release these tesla set and short shorts on line is a drip jab at short sellers of tesla stock the shorts were a hit on line much like the stock itself if the Company Shows a profit on july 22nd in its Quarterly Report test that would be one step closer to being added to the s. And p. 500 reporting for the news with Rick Sanchez Natasha sweet. Thats amazing and im watching as we speak its up to 1488. 00 its gone up like 70. 00 just today joining us now christiane i. Preciously know. What gives christie whats going on with this just doesnt seem right. A very interesting stock and the problem is its a cult stock its a momentum cult stock which is led by and very few companies have generated more headlines and. All the way from his legal battles with the pedal guy to his tweets that landed him in hot water. And if you think about it anymore more company with this kind of press coverage and this kind of negative press attention it would take an adept at a hit but somehow comes out unscathed and its really because of the fan base and the. So that iran has generated it continues to attain massive massive valuation despite unmissable expectations and a lack of profitability so even in the face of multiple quarterly misses the stock is still resilient and is now trading with a forward p. North of 65. 00 which is completely unheard of and similar to other cult stocks it is because of the image that it inspires not the reality the image it inspires so even on somehow inspires belief from investors belief that he will deliver despite not really performing at all up to this point and he has kind of perfected this entire pitch already because every single time thats going to be a bad report he covers up with something new something shiny another distraction like cyber truck or that auto pilot is upon us and auto pilot taxis will be everywhere by year 2022 which is something that he said or the new gigafactory is up and running but because of stock market is so forward looking it is always looking for the next big thing so he eats up every single press release that iran says and tries to price in the new future of big thing thinking that he will eventually deliver so he is constantly generating a new story in order to push the stock valuation up with some new angle some new groundbreaking idea and the cult just follows reality be damned seems to see what youre saying would you think that their price and their value would be tied directly to the price of oil who want to the electric car if the price of oil is as cheap as it is today and yet that doesnt seem to matter at all that for a were hearing that some people think the president ventura get bugged up to about 150 barrels a. 150. 00 a barrel what are your what is what is what are you seeing in this regard all this is actually a report issued by j. P. Morgan megan making a very bullish bet on oil actually betting on 190 dollars by year 2025 so not many other analysts agree with this price target but this analysts argue that what. The pandemic set and while prices collapse it sent producers slashing supply massively to the point that supply has been taking offline is completely overdone and the pendulum has completely swung in the opposite direction so because of this they say that theres going to be a massive supply constraint later on in the future and when it does the entire pendulum will swing from the boom to the bust cycle in the oil industry that could send prices soaring in the us in the near future within 5 years however not many people agree especially when you have big names such as b. P. B. P. Is actually mourning the complete opposite saying that demand for energy is not going to be coming back and if theyre going to be for the sustained period of time because b. P. s very own price projectionist brant at 55. 00 per barrel for the next 3 decades. And that would make sense when you consider that most people are going to be working from home people are not going to be driving as much theres not going to be a need for oil or at least thats what the most layman would look at and come up with great stuff christine thanks so much for joining us and taking us through your favorite topic thats. All right lets go to the dark live about whats going on the on this friday edition of jock talk as we like to call it in the world of sports what you got me rick i dont have good news for all the sports fans like you and me out there its not looking good its looking bleak you know we know professional sports are trying to start up right now and be a m. L. S. As we speak and theyll be but college in the fall now this week weve seen the dominoes begin to fall as weve been speculating all all spring and summer now and it started with the ivy league here canceling their fall sport they were the 1st one league to do it no fall sports for the ivy league then stanford made permanent cuts over after the 202021 Academic Year 11 of their 36. 00 varsity sports are no longer going to happen and then the power 5 schools the conferences started getting affected now were talking big 10 announced conference only games and they said the language in their statement was if there is a season so im thinking theres not this is just the 1st step were still waiting oh by the way ohio state another another school suspended although its. So you know so this is where they get their money by the way oh yeah but were talking about big time were big fans obviously of the big 10 minnesota Michigan State they made nearly 3000000000. 00 in 2900. 00 from the big 10 alone so if they cancel those games from the power 5 compromised but if they cancel those games that means theyre not going to bring in any revenue and thats kind of sad for the others people who go to school who are subsidized by that money exactly you know you have somebody. You know Field Hockey Team all those other athletes theyre not going to be able to do it and many other power 5 schools are going to follow suit from stanford those sports are cut permanently speaking of fencing rowing wrestling a lot of others are going to have to cut now because theyre facing you know 1000000. 00 deficits now that they wont be able to make up thats crazy it all right lets talk lets get into some of the some of the fun highlights so 1st i got this gem for you you know started practice summer camp out here in Comerica Park a place i know very well in detroit thats derek hill Center Fielder for the tigers makes this over the shoulder go watch it again check this out watch willie mays right exactly in the flesh in the you know remade right there look at that amazing but did you see how it goes from one glove to the hand he gets it right before he catches it after yeah that was the 1st practice so hes a midseason form already and its only a 6 game season so thats good a good sign for the tigers next up we get this guy out of canada his name is jordan kilgannon hes a 6 foot one approach i call this the lost and found because look he loses it and then he catches it you can see it from another angle hes only 61 and he did that so i give it a 9 to get out of im going to give it a 919 well ok so his outfit all right. Im a fashion these tell you about about me right thats true you have to like the blue the blue pocket square.
