Members of the port Lauderdale Police department were caught on body cameras comparing body counts and cracking jokes about the numbers of innocent black lives matter protesters they shot and injured with rubber bullets how lovely. And lets of course not forget the latest news out of c n. B. C. Who is now reporting that as many as 6700000. 00 rent burdened households could face of diction once enhanced federal Unemployment Insurance expires at the end of july and eviction bans across the country are lifted. This 4th of july we have every reason to be angry and fearful my friends as we celebrate this young nations birthday do not do not let the 2 Party Dictatorship fool you with their cheap patriotism and demands for status quo solidarity. Because my friends we have to remember that we are not the corporations that seek to monetize us we are not the Political Parties that seek to corral us we are still the dream that was the United States of america was still founded on the dream of equality and freedom a dream that even its founders never really completely understood or even adhered to truthfully but one that we can create for our very own as the nation celebrates its birthday this year and we start watching the hawks. If you want to know whats going on in the city streets you want to. Be so youd like to see the prices you always stay on see drone strikes graves suggests least systemic dissent says the late show which. Some billed as. Welcome everybody to watch of our clients are over into the music and joining us today to discuss the fear of the younger and the push for true freedom and equality in the United States is the National Court later with the movement for Peoples Party the one and only nick brought up thank you nick. Great to be with you guys so much Pure Research as i mentioned earlier that 71 percent of u. S. Citizens are angry and 66 percent say they are fearful should we see that as a failure of the 2 party system and that the leaders in the system and of the leaders of that system and that weve elected so far have they all failed us at this point. Theres no question about it its been a complete disaster before this catastrophe of the coronavirus and the way our government has handled it you had 18 percent of People Living paycheck to paycheck you know more than half of the country on less than 500. 00 saving and then what happened with coronavirus is just it has to be the final nail in the coffin with these corporate parties you had when they found out about the crisis that it was coming instead of actually buying up increasing protective equipment getting more ventilators members of Congress Actually bet and invested themself on the outcome they took money out of the stock market the rest of us have access to that and they never sent that all theyve done is they bailed out wall street and they provided nothing. Nic im kind of jealous of the room color you have going on right now as you know weve seen so many protests going on over the past few weeks and the entrance racism and corruption in our drug Justice System and people are really speaking out loudly and proudly about that and to be honest when the people on the protest are attacking both sides they are not really favorable democrats or republicans and what theyve seen as people just ignoring the issues of race in this country do you think that this will be helpful in fixing our broken Justice System do you think that theres going to be more push on both parties. Absolutely i mean neither of the 2 parties has come close to meeting the demands of the protesters and defunding the police reallocating those resources to social Services Community services you know while that sounds like a radical demand or the democrats are all the. I want you to believe that and back it becomes a whole lot less radical when you actually realize that thats what theyve been doing to education thats what theyve been doing to social services for many years theyve been funding them and so that the man has to shift the resources back to where it is to actually helping people and not just militarizing the responses to communities that need help you build a big proponent of 3rd parties over the years you would have 3rd party be able to fix those kind of racial problems and that institutionalized racism better than the 2 parties that we have well. Over 2 parties have built a system of sensually systemic racism that upholds the system that we have now and the wealth inequality is just galling Police Violence of course but its as well the fact that we have. Black families in the United States with children have just one cent of wealth to every dollar that white families have in the United States so that is that is a history of systemic racism that follows all the way from slavery jim crow and fitted to segregation today and its it represents the lost and forgotten and betrayed promise of 40 acres and a mule that was immediately after the civil war that black families who had been slaves were supposed to be given a chance to actually join parenting you know in terms of wealth and income with white families that promise was never fulfilled and majoring in party what were building now with the movement for a people party we have in our Platform Community policing d Restorative Justice and policies like medicare for all and then universal basic things that will help those who are dealing at the floor of the society who have been the most abandoned and they have the highest support among black and latino populations for that particular reason. That they needed most. Speaking about on saturday july 11th youre actually helping organize a nationwide protest in front of the homes of many prominent u. S. Politicians of both the right on the left im leaders calling and thats calling for what youre saying as a people stimulus right now we currently have more than 60000000 u. S. Households facing potential a virtual how does this protest that youre planning help those people who are facing got a virtue and what are some of the demands we arrested. Thats right because with the democrats and republicans have done essentially is that they say all right working people across the country were going to bail out wall street but and youre all going to lose your job for being 45000000. 00 unemployment i am but youre still expected to pay rent youre still expected to buy groceries obviously that equation doesnt square especially when people dont have any savings and so what were doing and to make the problem worse is the fact that you have the moratorium like you said on the vacations or foreclosures are about to expire next month which means that thousands of people are going to be out of their homes out of their apartment in the middle of an demick out in maine and that you also have the fact that the 600. 00 expanded Unemployment Benefits the crumbs that they gave us are also going to expire on july 31st and so what were doing is were going to on july 11th go to the home of members of congress and senators across the country and were going to hold rallies outside their home demanding people stimulus that mean the fund the police and divert funds back to schools and Community Services medicare for all its 2000. 00 a month universal basic thing cover payroll tax Small Business jobs the people on payroll thats what europe did thats why their unemployment has not meaningfully risen and also suspend rent hampel mortgage payments and and and credit card debt. Some big ass some coming up you know were coming up on Independence Day huge. A time of celebration for Many Americans its the 244th birthday of this country what do you feel are the biggest signs of hope that you see for the country in the midst of all of this fear and anger. This a breakdown that were seeing and our society right now which it which is really what it is has been a Long Time Coming this is high incredibly unsustainable the governments response to coronavirus the appalling other countries as i mentioned before have not seen. Some countries in europe not in meaningful rises and on the argument and so being the economic depression that weve seen over the last few months was not a necessary consequence of the virus it was a policy decision that was made in washington and the things that i think hopeful are that people are finally through that people are not complacent you know people are actually taking to the streets and demanding that in huge numbers and if in fact washington thinks that its going to take away the neger things that a people subsisted a survival level that expanded on planet benefit moratorium on foreclosures and not these things on their wallets even wall street trillion and a blank check from the fed then i think you will very quickly see a lot more uprising in the streets within weeks because people are surviving on a thread right now i think its important to note too that at the end of a very this country was was was founded on the protest and founded of rebellion so we cannot we cannot look at these people and say oh they are the exception to the rule thats the very you know bread and butter of this country is rebellion and speaking your mind mix thank you so much for coming on today and educating the audience like you always do. Kobe 19 things up across the globe with leaders in a tactical war to stop the spread of the virus america left its reopening plans largely up to the states with a mixed bag of results as Stores Restaurants and other areas reopen schools and Childcare Centers largely remain closed thousands of adults are still working from home considering the effects of this new normal parents working from home are now doing so with their young kids in tow employers for the most part seem to understand this duality. But Florida State university seeks to punish employees with children with grown up virus cases surging in florida the university released a memo no longer allowing employees to care for children while working with mostly employees of the university are baffled because for weeks now theyve received support from their bosses in juggling both parental and work duties during this pandemic but Florida States recent about face is that going signaling a new message do your work or watch your children you cannot do both while if you take care of them florida had reopened for a couple of weeks due to the rise in new coping 1000 cases and providers themselves testing positive for the virus the centers abruptly closed again parents are now stuck between a rock and a hard place and to put this further in conflicts with schools and daycares close children are at home 247 nonessential employees working from home must abide a tension between their workload and their kids employer flexibility during this time is paramount at this youth policy will impact female employees more than their male colleagues bill even for some women to step back from work and leave entirely if the same song we see play out even outside of a pandemic if youre working mom and child care is scarce or unavailable your career will take a major hit. To add i think to the disaster cake a new care dot com survey found that 63 percent of families are uncomfortable placing their children in daycare estates reopened and even more concerned about the cost of childcare now than they were before the pandemic will lead to disaster theres a lot of icing to go around theres things when you think things cant get worse they seem to continue its it blows my mind and this is one of those things i mean this policy change is devastating during append as you mentioned the state where were seeing what 10000 new cases recently what options do these parents really have with Florida States demands a reasonable any normal logical thinking person would say these are unreasonable demands what what options can they do to work with the most there are there arent very many so if youre a parent and you decide that of the few Daycare Centers that have reopened that you want to place your child there you run the risk of them actually getting sick or or that day care closing down again because weve seen across the state of florida a lot of daycare is that had reopened are closing because their workers have come down with koby 19 the thing with most daycare and Early Care Center workers is the majority of them are older women many of them are minorities that are africanamerican or latino theyre a lot worse acceptable to cope at 19 because of lack of Health Insurance lack of you know Adequate Health care but also because theyre being exposed because they have to go out many of them also work other jobs because if youre a daycare worker youre earning minimum wage or less than minimum wage so most of them are shuffling multiple jobs at the same time and now they have they stand the you know the great chance of transmitting coby 1000 to these children who will then bring it home to their parents its like i love seeing the you know more businesses and institutions saying hey you know what you can work from home this does actually work someone works just as hard from home as they do from the office but Florida State kind of saying this i dont want to see this catch fire and somebody suddenly become like the corporate go to like hey we dont want to see your kids in the background of the zune video like how how. Is this policy especially towards women more than this this policy is unfair for many reasons one when we think about florida we know that they have the highest case of rising new kobe cases in america period but in addition to that most when youre talking about Higher Education most of the people who work in that field are women so many of these women and women in general largely take on the primary caregiver role when their children are at home or when their children are in school you were critically speaking even in 2 parent households the woman bears the brunt of a lot of that of a lot of that leadership responsibility when it comes to their children so women are now being placed in a position where they have to decide between their work and their kids which i would argue is a position that no woman should have to choose never and i think its very sexist to put women in that theyre going to its also like the other middle of boggles my mind is how does Florida State expect to enforce this but how are they going to possibly know whether or not your kids are in a daycare or if youre just talking and doing your regular work day that is the 1000000. 00 question and its one that is a little bit difficult to answer they are looking at specifically and when they targeted or reached out to certain people before this mandate actually came out they were looking at new moms so the other issue that happened with f. S. U. Is that they are literally reaching out to you and targeting a lot of people who recently delivered children so theres a myriad of problems with that in and of itself again punishing people who are new moms or punishing moms in general and extremely wrong but. Theyre willing to why mislabel need those jobs though because im going from a mistaken childcare is expensive motors childcare in america heres where we are as you can tell us about our marriage i do know about it but i have worked in childcare policy that was one of the reasons i came to d. C. What we found is that childcare in america is the most expensive anywhere in the globe and here in america it is on average 10000. 00 a year per child in washington d. C. It is 35000. 00 a year. Her child so when youre talking about the expense of it a lot of people losing their jobs dual income households going down to one because of what were seeing with the kobe 19 Unemployment Crisis this is something that lot of parents simply cannot afford yeah and let people work at the end of it who cares if their kids are in the back or they can do both i mean its sad that they have to do both that we live in that society where we cant one person whether male or female cant make enough for their family to provide for their own family to both parents up to work but people can do both single parent households be be polite to them help them as much as possible and i think people do both every day and i think that this issue is only highlighting the fact that we need to do more for working families great point. Finally after months and months of waiting Jeffrey Epsteins right hand galad Gillan Maxwell was arrested and charged this week after her alleged role in sex trafficking operation but while we wait with bated breath to see of ms maxwell miraculously commits suicide or conveniently disappears report trial there is another mysterious disappearance down in texas at the Fort Hood Army base that is raising many eyebrows and questions including those of us representative tell gabbers im sorry of course about the strange disappearance of 20 year old u. S. Soldier but mehsud dion who is hasnt been seen or heard from since april 22nd r. T. Americas alex mahela bridge joins us now with the latest on the case. Alex i want to ask you right off the bat while the disappearance of any person soldier or anyone is wildly important why is the vanishing this soldier down in florida who had suddenly gathering so much attention and what are the details of this case. The time there youre looking at a 20 year old female latino soldier from fort hood of all places that disappeared and now were hearing a lot more information coming from her familys lawyer speaking about the case today. Basically that this is what we know now is she was speaking to the army time. The lawyer says that d. N. A. Was brutally murdered the same day that she disappeared she was killed with a hammer in an armory at the base while working we have a suspect that suspect will be Aaron RobinsonAaron Robinson was a fellow soldier he left the base just a couple nights ago on tuesday looks like he took off and what happened is when Law Enforcement caught up to him he turned the gun on himself and killed himself on the spot now robinson supposedly also went to his girlfriend who is married to somebody else to help dispose of dns body they and they tried to set it on fire didnt work and then you know we found parts that are in the end the Law Enforcement from parts of d. N. A. So this this murder itself is obviously very very brutal the the allegations here are very serious and again like i said its in fort hood and another aspect to this which makes it exactly what youre talking about why why is this so important so important because again told her family about alleged Sexual Misconduct towards her there were allegations of basically people coming to her and doing what theyre not supposed to be doing fellow soldiers sexually harassing her she was afraid to go to the police without her to actually say to the military to the home People Better and higher levels command theyre afraid of being blackballed and this is where we ended up we ended up with one young woman who was trying to serve her country and now shes dead while alex this is a home story is its heartbreaking and so many ways trying to catch my breath here with everything that you just said. We know that the need to Movement Still has a lot of fire behind it and one of the things ive seen on social media personally with people calling out asking why didnt people jump on this in terms of advocates and need it later a lot of questions around that and weve seen that at least one person has represented tulsa gabbert shes taken an interest in this case and is calling it calling out a lot. The mythology as well as the sexual abuse the happens in the male military but what is it that she can do or what is it that people in Congress Need to be doing to not only eliminate this but also be able to get to the bottom of a lot of the cases of sexual abuse that women are falling into also gathered. You know what i believe coming looking from the north to the south that would have been a wonderful take it with sanders and jabbered that didnt happen and why gabbert as Vice President why governor because she knows intimately what the u. S. Military looks like she served for 17 years she knows what the chain of command means so she went wild with family. I should say d. N. C. Family she spoke side by side with them urging congress urging the department of defense to do something about this this woman disappeared over 2 months ago we knew about the allegations that she made and it seems that whatever internal investigations going on there are not talking about it she wants some answers and she wants congress and the department of defense to react and for it so that things like this not to happen in the future when you hear that at fort hood female soldiers soldiers are told to walk together at night that theres an issue there when youre hurt when you hear about all this Sexual Harassment going on at fort hood theres an issue there and it surely goes beyond just one base in the United States of america that it most certainly does alex thank you for this reporting on this on this really brutal but important case thank you so much sir. Thank you. You know what else was interesting about that case there was a young latino man who disappeared earlier was found buried outside the base earlier this year to 8 months ago fort hood is full of problems lot of problems there are at everybody on that note i guess out of our sorrow breed of a remember everyone in this world we are not told that we are loved enough so i tell you all i love you i rolled into an animal keep on watching all those hawks out there and have a great big and like everybody. Well coming up to us from around the world live from Central London this is off to u. K. M. P. s warn the government the u. K. Could be heading for a 2nd wave of shortages in personal protective equipment if theres a resurgence of covert 90. And amp which studies the symptoms of corona virus finds the number of new cases is no longer declining for the 1st time in mums as parts of england already begin to see spikes in infections are we talking to a medical expert. An inquiry is to be launched into Police Across england and wales to find out if the practice of stop and search is based on racial profiling opera joined by a campaigner. And illegal phone calls for a view of the evidence behind lesters return to long down amid claims the governments action was on more full. M. P. s are warning the government that the u. K. Could be heading for a 2nd wave of shortages in personal protective equipment if the resurgence of corona virus the m. P. s claim the issue isnt being treated with sufficient urgency. Was dashed to expose the various failures in supplying p. P. Throughout the pandemic. As a u. K. R. Knocks the lock down it seems many a bracing for a 2nd wave of the corona virus but also a 2nd wave of a shortage of people he is not new news the us throughout the entire pandemic and they just stop on the frontline really struggle to get hold of protective gear to adequately safeguard against the virus for months on and it seems like they looked at lessons havent been over the Department Says it is committed to building the stocks to meet longer term demand we are not convinced that it is treating the market with sufficient urgency or that. The government is adamant that the stock of p. P. Has never run out on a National Level but with demand increased by 20000 percent those on the front line would beg to differ in fact 50 percent of and it starts so there was not enough p. P. And although day to run its usage is hard to get hold of a survey of nurses and carers found that nearly 90 percent were worried about catching the virus at work while the government stresses that the main challenge it faced was getting the right people to the right place at the right time initially out of date masks were issued and then the statement was made that actually we have tested them. And these masks are ok having said that they now say we need to improve this mask so theres a lot of luck so frayed and you need to answer this rather than to say the market has now been resolved with demand spiralling to u. K. Hard to look further afield and source people on International Markets but that came with its own set of problems a plane from turkey landed at the peak of the pandemic in april carrying a batch of 400000 much needed p. P. Accounts upon arrival it emerged that the equipment didnt meet british Safety Standards in a very embarrassing blunder for the government so the u. K. Is able to produce a fair share of its own people there is no imminent guarantee that it wont need to source from abroad again with experts in the field saying that the quality is the key component of effectiveness in for. Tactic against the virus perhaps the government should try before you buy that gov it shows how a consistent and clear position on craigs compering which is the good quality face coverings that really do filter out all particles essential part of protecting Health Workers and others whose jobs have become in frequent contact with people who have the virus and w. H. O. Wanted to make certain that these very special place marks their cause and 95 or every 3 years are available for Health Workers everywhere because we were really worried that they would be bought up by or stockpiled by people who didnt actually need them the most so that was the reason why w. Werent sure was very particular use that high quality praise protections for Health Workers and theyve been dealing with the shortages by revising the accounting tactics why not double the numbers instead of counting each pair of gloves as one why not count each club individually and hey presto youve done what youre stuck without even lifting a finger this catalogue of air assassin who werent sitting choir surely to get it right the 2nd time around if theres a 2nd time around that is not in line with most of the governments coronavirus responses they say its too soon there will be an inquiry of some form. The cove across is over we dont even know when weve reached the halfway because this is of course still rolling but i do not consider at the moment. A full scale nationally is a good use of official time earlier this week the chancellor announced a 15000000000 pounds boost to p. P. But will it be a case of too little too late especially as some of those in government say were only halfway through this pandemic child edits dashti artsy london. Now an app which studies the symptoms of coronaviruses found the number of new cases has stopped declining for the 1st time since the last time. It was imposed Data Collected by the covert symptom study shows there was an average of 1472 cases each day in the 2 weeks leading up to july the 4th or the number was slightly higher than the previous fortnight when data suggests there were 1445. 00 daily cases or 27. 00 fewer becomes a separate data from Public Health england reveals the rate of infections has slightly increased since last week in 8 areas of england well the worst affected area is the south coast city of southampton which has seen the highest rise in cases in the past week jumping by 4. 00 per 100000 of the population or other affected areas include bromley in southeast london where cases rose to 2. 00 per 100000 the north london bar of islam to their cases rose to 2. 00. 1 to discuss the findings are now joined by medical professor paul hunter professor hunter thank you very much indeed for joining us lets say if the decline in new infections was slowing down before july the 4th what do you predict well see by the end of the month and then beyond. Well i think its actually quite difficult because there are several ways of measuring the spread of the infection in the community theres this theres the o. N. C. Study theres the reports of cases both hospitalization and deaths i think by and large they were all pointing to a slowing in the decrease in cases in new cases towards the end of june. What weve see but what weve seen now is that possibly that in terms of the in terms of pillar one testing the hospital cases that decline seems to have sped up again so maybe that was a temporary phenomenon and we will continue the decline in numbers that weve seen pretty much the from april through to mid june however when nobody can be certain of that and we really have to wait for another week or so to determine whether that temporary small increase nationally was in in one system. Was was prophetic of whats going to happen or whether it was just a statistical glitch it means that the areas are being affected at different rates arent they so our localized lockdowns like the one in leicester and they are the way forward. Well i think i think we will see more localized lock downs because that some point the. It despite what i said about that the next few weeks some point its likely that we will start to see increases again and rather than this be uniform across the country i think what were likely to see is is more localized outbreaks like weve seen in leicester and possibly other places as well and and the point is that if we control those adequately if weve got a very good test track and trace system that really works well with local Public Health teams then we should be able. So act soon and suppress those localized outbreaks and keep the incidence of the disease nationally at a low level but that does depend on having an effective Surveillance System that communicates well with local Public Health teams professor hunter the meantime pauls gym Sports Centers there will reopen from july the 25th are we reopening at the right pace. Again it is difficult to be absolutely sure i think we have to be kept we have still got quite a lot of illness circulating in the community so i think. The relaxations we have to when we implement them we have to be very careful that we keep an eye on what numbers are doing and stop those relaxations. If that number of cases sustainably start increasing and i suspect at some point during the rest of this year we will actually have to rewind some of these relaxations i think with the summer although the weathers not so good at the moment but with people being outdoors more then we will have some more leeway in how we relax restrictions but that the good weather as we move into autumn will not continue and and i think that will be the time that were really challenged with some of these relaxations in the meantime the government is spending 10000000000 pounds on the test to Trace Program 48000000000 on Public Service is happy pet is the u. K. For 2nd wave. I think were a lot more prepared than when we were beginning it does depend. On whether weve got the effective text track and trace system working well by the autumn. At the moment its still only detecting a relatively small proportion of cases that we assume are occurring in the community and i think as well that the previous. Topic that youre talking about was where the p. P. A. Will be around. And that is absolutely crucial we have to have our care homes we have to have our hospitals our Health Care Workers really good access to p. P. If were going to whether thats the next wave day professor paul hunter thank you very much indeed for talking to us my pleasure. Well meanwhile u. K. Ministers are reportedly planning to opt out of an e. U. Coronavirus vaccine scheme on the grounds it will delay britains access if a successful vaccine arrives well the u. K. Was invited to join to the 2000000000 euro e. U. Code 19 Vaccine Program by the European Commission the program will secure participating countries access to effective vaccines purchased by the e. U. In advance the u. K. Government sources reportedly say participating in the scheme could result in 6 months delays and caps on the number of doses allocated to each country britains refusal to cooperate with the year is expected to spark a backlash from opposition politicians. Now the independent office for Police Conduct will launch an investigation into offices across england and wales to determine whether they use of the stop and search practice is racially motivated well joins me now with more details on this are very sick so can you tell us what prompted this inquiry or the p. C. Have decided to look into police in england and wales to determine whether the steep rise as its being portrayed in stop and search is being racially motivated not people from black and minority ethnic communities are 9 times more likely to be stopped by police that are 8 times more likely to have a taser used against them in particular since the beginning of the covered 19 lockdown theres been an increased Police Presence in minority ethnic communities in black communities and the sense that police are targeting them more and for example finding people from minority backgrounds more in cases of breaking locked up marriages and so for voters reasons complaints have been brought forward and pieces are now going to be looking into the conduct of police in england and wales. Evidence of disproportionality in the use of Police Powers has long been a concern which impacts on confidence in policing particularly in black asian and minority ethnic communities but even with the numbers and the statistics particularly from stop and search data we still need to better understand the causes and what can and should be done to address this in the coming months we will be launching a race discrimination as a thematic area of focus to establish the trends and the patterns which might help drive real change in policing practice now in the past few weeks weve seen some high profile examples of police perhaps targeting black people whether of course its racially motivated this inquiry perhaps will try to get to the bottom of it one of those examples being Bianco Williams and her husband shes a british athlete they were pulled over in their car with police saying they were looking for perhaps drugs or weapons of course mrs williams being a professional athlete neither of those were found within the vehicle and then they took up their complaint since which crested the metropolitan Police Commissioner has apologized to the family weve also seen a case with the rock around his father big tales dissolve of the father being tasered by police during a raid on their home so a general sense again that police are stepping up their tactics and what has been described as profiling in particular against black people in the capital but the Deputy Assistant commissioner for local policing amanda pistons argued that its how some of that disparity is also to do the fact that. Particularly young black men are also more likely to be victims of Violent Crime. Stop and search is a tool we can use in order to prevent Violent Crime when we look at the victims and perpetrators of Violent Crime they are over represented by predominantly young black males even just taking one machete off the street might prevent another homicide and therefore that link between what the demographic of those people who are victims and perpetrators of homicide obviously then there is a link between that and those people who may be subject to stop and search given the information and intelligence we have on them. That inquiry is due to start in the autumn particularly in the case of the metropolitan police it was more than 20 years ago the very were described in the mcpherson report as being is generally racist and with trust still at low levels and the perception not having changed in minority communities this inquiry will have to go a long way in order to try to build up trust once more. He said thank you very much indeed thanking. Want to discuss all the issues raised there are now joined by child antidiscrimination campaigner cheryl phoenix cheryl thank you for joining us what do you make of the inquiry being launched and what can we expect you think. My expectations are very high but the fact that there is an inquiry about the Police Actually doing an investigation into themselves as bizarre in the 1st point and secondly with regard to what was said to stop the search septra one thing that we have to also look at and take into account is that we have this matrix that the Police Actually have a solid guys matrix and even those that are victims of crime are actually caught in there theyre not using correct intelligence when theyre actually stopping and searching people sometimes it can be a threat random so you know there is a bit of animosity between the community and the police and i think that it is to be more intelligence led not just a blanket sweep of anyone just because a young black male what do you think the stop and search in itself is an effective tool in preventing crime. No because the statistics are clear with regards to stop and search and anything with regards to stop ins and stopping crime it actually statistically shows that stop and search does not work with regards to the combat in crime so there needs to be another way then he should be more investment in our young people and just stop in with generalization that all black males are criminals when theyre not where you work with you save been affected by discrimination i mean what are their feelings generally about the place. I want to start very positive even despite setting up clubs and doing other initiatives with our young people 1st for a younger age its ok but as they get older and theyre allowed more freedoms to go on the road they then are can be sometimes stopped and searched 345 times that can be only a way to or from school your only all 12 or 13 years old and you already see as some sort of criminal when you havent actually committed a crime instead of actually just generalizing like i said already just because youre young and youre black why not actually have some more intelligence led police in and when i say teligent i mean just just data that doesnt seem to amount to much right now it just seems to be a blanket across all young black males and thats not their own then that then breeds a slight resentment among young black males towards the police have also breeds that content of war you only stop me because im black show me the evidence that says otherwise the cause right now thats all it is when you think the black eyes not a movement to shine a light on this issue and thats why the inquiry has come to pass and yes i definitely believe that the black Lies Matter Movement has actually put this into the spotlight has put the issues that face young black males and women any cake under a spotlight and i see that things are now being done but my concern is how long is that going to last before we go back to how its always been whenever a black person does speak out about racism discrimination in a form regardless of whether its police brutality. Well whether its in the workplace where shut up and were told that we cant speak out on it weve got a chip on our shoulder or were playing the race card i think it is about time now that people actually start listening to what weve got to say because this is our reality and this is what we face on a daily basis and as soon as policy changes with regards to how black people are treated even in Mental Health with regards to why is it that a black woman is 5 times more likely to die from childbirth than anybody else that shows that there is a clear problem with discrimination so we do say that thank you to highlighting this but there are organizations right here in the u. K. That are also fighting but are not being heard so i hope now they will start being heard listen to and things actually been done not just a tick book exercise will show finally when you said about things being done can you answer the things that you think will need to be done on a practical level dude new roles need to be recreated do we need to complete rethink in what were doing on practical levels. Absolutely well when you look at most Senior Management positions whether that be in local authority or that being government you can just look at parliament for example to see where things need to be changed you cant tell me that everyone and everything were just living in some homogenous society because someone who is not of the same race nationality as me doesnt understand what im going through but yet not welcome to the table to sit out when it comes to making decisions about things that actually affect people that look like me and the young black males that were talking about so from a policy perspective and not just a size we need actual practical policy changes right now they will say that they have this policy in policy and change in place but if someone has been subtly racist to me in the workplace how do i then get to prove that because a lot of the time theyre not prevented a lot of the time people are pushed out of their work positions and probably pushed into poverty because theyve been victimized in their workplace that gets in sick and gets an ill so there needs to be a real discussion that takes place with the Senior Leaders of all kinds of workplaces so that things can actually change and thats practical reinvest that needs to go back into black grassroots organizations who are making a change day in and day out but are being overlooked by large corporate organizations who get funding and other things and they struggle and then they they die away and then we see a reintegration of crying and things going wrong theres so many great organizations within the black community who understand and know this community but theyre not being supported by a central or National Government chair finish we have to leave it there but thank you very much indeed. Thank you. And in the next hour discussing the implications of the stop and search practice with criminologist minnesota. Now is almost half of im going to merkels cabinet headed by women germany is already one of the most progressive hear a pin countries when it comes to women in politics but the chancellor c. D. U. Party now wants to go a step further and introduce quotas so that women make up half the entire party in the next few years with the details his arties peter oliver. German conservatives the c. D. U. Looking to dramatically shake up the demographics of their party top brass this week approved quotas for women in senior positions with quoters for those standing in elections under consideration this decision was long overdue the quote is a crutch it doesnt solve all problems but it is the 1st important step to better involve women if women continue to be represented in offices and mandate as little as before they can have no influence in shaping the future so how will this work the plan is that in the coming bundestag election 30 percent of the positions in the Christian Democratic Union will be held by women rising to 50 percent by 2025 in order to proceed the equality proposal has to be approved by Party Membership in december that may not be so easy with critics saying that position should be based on ability not gender shouldnt Quality Counts instead of a quota or there was a would be for a quota based on various professional qualifications economic 60 years and years of work outside of politics criticism of the movie isnt just coming from men with some c. D. U. Women saying this attempt at equality is simply or just it could end up backfiring a quote 40 and 50 percent does not correspond to the proportion of women in the membership if in the future it is easier for women to get a position in c. G. Than men it will be unfair while others say this will lead to the achievements of women who reach senior positions being belittled i myself would have opposed it if i had been told that you can into this office because you were quite a woman many women find undervaluing to assume that they only came to office because of their gender more than women dont want to be stamped the c.
