Firm sky Bridge Capital well have been a good to have you with us trump held his 1st Campaign Rally in tulsa what did you take away from that event well i mean i mean i want to be as balanced as possible larry thank you for having me on i would say the event was underwhelming from an attendance perspective but i think they got a lot of rich data and of all of that registration that went on but i think he know his personality reasonably well i think he was very disappointed on saturday night how much trouble is he in you have your fingertips on everything is he in big trouble. I do think hes in big trouble i think that the momentum is swinging very hard against him right now but this is a very good price fighter and so you know if its a boxing metaphor he has to be knocked out of the ring a knockdown a t. K. O. Youre not going to win this on a decision you have to send him right through the rope so one of the good things that happened to him the other night he did so poorly that it could create some complacency on the other side and so if they want to beat him theyve got to come at him 3 times harder now im known for 40 years ago you know he seems to have no empathy and other as hes talking about the statues lets say of the confederacy and the says saying i understand how black americans could feel he just rips someone fired and says dont tell them down the Great American heritage what do you make of that. Well i think he i think the problem is as i said this in the paper you know hes the modern l. B. J. And so he had his skill set is hitting an era of time where all of the things that he was good at they got him to where he is not helping them for where he is right now and so thats the problem you know he doesnt have that empathy skills and he doesnt have that emotional e. Q. And so hes right now pitting a culture war hes got the red republican tribe against the blue democrat craddick tribe and hes saying hold out of the heritage this is like our guns this is like our prayer books hes trying to create that dynamic rather than trying to unify the country i think thats a mistake. Is making fun of biden a mistake. Yes i think making fun of biden is a mistake because he is not secretary clinton and so he cant lay a knockout punch on joe biden because Vice President biden is not as polarizing as secretary clinton moreover Vice President biden hes never taken the bait 19 politicians larry took the bait sleepy this liar that you know low energy this all those politicians took the bait from President Trump but joe biden just keeps humming along you know and i know it really bothers President Trump that hes getting thumped like this joe being in his basement larry or Vice President biden being in the basement and him being the president and getting crushed in the polls i know its driving him crazy is donald trump a racist. Well yes hes a racist because his actions are quite rich racists you know he does crazy things hes talking about a lot omar and shes going to govern the country like somalia he said last summer go back to the countries youre originally came from those are racist strokes but you just mentioned is that any empathy and so thats classic of a narcissist and most narcissist objectify people so youre not racist against a black or a white car so in that respect hes such a narcissist that you cant call him a racist the way you could call a k. K. K. Leader a races but yes hes hes polling racists tropes out of his playbook to try to win this election and so for those reasons classically defined hes an abject racist larry. How do you explain his kind of cavalier attitude about the coronavirus. Well again i think thats his skill set he was looking at the facts and he said wait a minute these facts are not what i want and so what hes often tried to do in his life is to reality distortion he tried to lie his way throughout his life to another reality and so its one thing to stand up in front of a camera and yell fake news and do that sort of thing but what you cant do larry is yell fake science you know he gets of the camera with the coronavirus he acts cavalierly and hes like telling the American Public that 2 plus 2 equals 7 but yet they can see on their hands that it equals 4 and they panic and they start to realize how disingenuous he is and so this skill set of deflection this skill set of over salesmanship in the overzealousness of selling is not working when met up against scientific calamity and scientific fact and thats why hes having such a hard time right now what caused. Well listen he fired me i met you in that beautiful kosher diner of yours out in Beverly Hills i was still loyal to the guy i had no problem with that i i never took my firing personally i became friends which became general i became friends with general kelly after the firing and i went on television and tried to promote the president s agenda but when he started telling the 4 women the members of the squad the Progressive Left to go back to the countries they originally came from i told mayor giuliani hey wait a minute im Italian American they told my grandmother that that is a racist nativists trope i cant support that im very sorry i said on the bill maher show last august i wish President Trump would stop saying that and so then he took it upon himself to attack me on twitter and so then i think i called him fidel 8 off trump i tried to get the fat shaming in there with the dictatorship and that got that got him crazy and then he started coming back at me you know im a new yorker so i just started blasting them and then he did where trump does he went after my wife whos basically a suburban housewife you met her in italy if you dont remember a few years ago and im like ok way to my wife got nothing to do with this and im im not im not im not ted cruz you know if youre going to attack my wife im going to tell you kid from long island im ready to go and so i will continue to punch until hes out of office its really just that simple youre not youre not going after my wife without having a real fight with me and so you know it but listen like i said last year if hes attacking me after i gave him a 1000000. 00 for his campaign the transition all of that stuff i worked for him got fired and stayed loyal if hes attacking me because i didnt like the racist comment that he made about the congresswoman that hes got a screw loose and what i said last summer this is like trump noble theres something wrong with the guy cognitively hes going to start melting down at the core. And then the republicans are going to have to make it the sit in are they going to cover it up like they were trying to do in trump noble or turn noble or are they going to clean it up and they made the decision to cover it up and that was a juror matic and disastrous mistake for them because now he is a millstone around their necks going into november whats your overview of the bolton book so its interesting my fathers day gift was for me to sit home yesterday read that damn thing so i read about 400 of the 600 pages it is very damning it is a full blown indictment on the president you know bassett or both it goes very far in chapter 8 and discussing full blown criminal activity and so i call chapter 8 of that book the orange jumpsuit chapter i think the democrats are sort of basket or bold for not making that testimony of vailable during the impeachment but i say otherwise the republicans to quote President Trump donald trump could have shot people on 5th avenue and they still would have acquitted him dont ask me why history will have to judge that and resolve that but ambassador bolton i think is correct no matter what he had said you know in the ensuing impeachment trial they still would have acquitted him and i think he was locked in the loading for the election coming up and i think this book is a very damning indictment of what the president has done and youll look to see the the Biden Campaign and republicans like myself that are against President Trump use the book as fodder come november to explain how dangerous this man is to our Civilized Society into the american way of life. Why arent there more republicans like you i mean that was the mitt romney is broken with but other than that they seemed to stand tall with him or. Well you know they asked john kennedy wrote 3 books he wrote why england slept the nation of immigrants and he wrote a book that he won the Pulitzer Prize for a profile in courage it was a very thin book teddy wright said to him why was that book so thin and john kennedy said well theres no courage out there i mean i was looking for senators in the senate through American History that broke from their party and stood on principles and the foundational patriotism of the american democracy and its constitution and i couldnt find that many and i think that thats evident today d moreover larry this is not the greatest generation these guys never served together in the war howard baker he looked around the senator from kansas bob dole they were all war veterans and say wait a minute we saw our brothers down i and spilled their blood in europe or in 84. 00 this document and for our freedom we are going to stick to the rule of law we didnt see that this time its a damning indictment on those men and women but i do think theres an opportunity here if we can defeat President Trump we can go on and rebuild the Republican Party this is the biggest schism in the Republican Party since the jerry Ford Ronald Reagan schism in 1986 and i think if he goes which i predict he will by the way we can reset the Republican Party and open its tent demographically to make it a more Inclusive Party in a more Competitive Party if he wins god forbid hes going to narrow down the lane of that party and it will be a Minority Party for a generation well be right back with more a little more of anthonys scaramucci right after these words. And its an International Portfolio that matter and i think frankly for rightful reasons the president trusts him hes a hes an in law or pretty you know a Family Member although in a jewish or an italian family inlaws or outlaws you remember that right mr king so but i mean for the from this perspective hes inside that orbit and so i think the president trusts him and i think he has a lot of power away from the things that President Trump wants to handle himself tell me about you know Political ActionCommittee Call right side what is it and whats its purpose. Well i mean we came up with a clever name where from the right im a republican and so this is another movement of republicans against President Trump and for Vice President biden and so right side it was a play on the words right side of history to be on the right side of history and what were doing is were its a grassroots effort and were going to be raising money deploying some of it in ads but mostly creating a Field Operation i expect to be in places like michigan and pennsylvania and parts of west concent explaining to people who could have potentially voted for then candidate from 4 years ago why he is a systemic danger to their way of life and why we need to rebuild repair and renew the american spirit and the American Enterprise and democratic system and hes just not the right guy to do that and so were trying to put together a mosaic a very colorful mosaic of men and women who will bind together and are jacked this sort of tribalism and this sort of racism and i tell people what im out campaigning i say listen the 1st name of the country is united each one of us has a story many of us face or grandparents face some level of immigrant gratian horrors or discrimination but were here to create progress where theo here to heal the society and make the future better i dont want to have a war over the past and what statue belongs where i want to talk about where we are today and how we can go Forward Together and make this an Aspirational Society for all walks of life of all races colors and creeds and sexual preferences and mr trumps not capable of doing that to your point he doesnt have any empathy and so hes not the right type of leader for a country that you eat needs unity right now. Anthony finally based on whatever weve heard tonight why are you a republican well its a good question i mean i grew up my my dad is a very very funny story only David Axelrod actually knew this but the Republican Party controlled the unions in Nassau County long island and so my dad was a crane operator even hourly worker for the union i was 17 yep and my dad was a blue Collar Worker and so i went to my pops i was 17 about to turn 18 i said dad im going to register to vote what party by registering for us i know youre a republican you know you got to vote republican those are the people that are helping me with my salary and so i said ok great im a republican and then i when i got to college Ronald Reagan was in office he was a popular figure back then with young people and i got to you know read about him and the politics and so forth and i became more you would remember to be an eisenhower rockefeller moderate new york republican and so so i sort of you know im a loyal guy you know i happen to be a mets fan and you and i were talking before the show started how much pain that is and so you know im a loyal guy and i want to see this party fix itself and so thats why i you know thats why im a republican but we weve got a ways to go in the Republican Party weve all loud President Trump to really damage it and then a thank you so much was great having you with us i was great to be iranian im a huge fan of yours larry. One of the biggest bombshells in john boltons new book is is our President Trump sought to help in his reelection effort from the chinese president will this impact u. S. China relations were Going Forward for analysis were calling on asia expert gordon chang author of the coming collapse of china and the great u. S. China tech war he joins us from new jersey and what do you make them both mr charge that trump was trying to get the Chinese Government to help him be reelected. Well it certainly is a bombshell revelation and bassett or light hisor the u. S. Trade representative who was in the room at the time says that boltons charges absolutely untrue also weve got language from vanity fair which spells a plea has President Trumps exact words bolton said that trump was pleading with c. Jinping the chinese ruler the vanity fair language shows the trump was trying to intimidate seige and trying i actually dont know whats going on at this point but clearly the charges are going back and forth and you know this is not going to end because clearly as you say if true this would actually be a problem for President TrumpGoing Forward bolton also claims that trump told she he believed chinas mass incarceration of muslim minorities was the right thing to do couldnt possibly have said that. You know that that really is a shocker as well and that revelation by the way was the same day as President Trump signed the weaker human rights policy act. I dont know exactly of course what would trump said decision paying but i doubt that the words that were using were the ones that trump actually said because that doesnt sound like the president i know the president doesnt put human rights at the top of his list but to actually approve what the chinese leader was doing i think probably as much further than trump would have gone now one of the one of the concepts of the Term Campaign is that joe biden is weak on china what to you does that mean. Well i think what the Trump Campaign is saying is that trump would be a much better defender of american interests then and then biden there are a number of statements from biden especially from a 1st of last year which are troubling both candidates though trump and biden have vulnerabilities on china the one difference larry is that as president. He can actually change Voters Perceptions of his china policies so it gives an advantage to trump and that means that trump probably is going to be a bit tougher on china than he otherwise would have been during the campaign tell me about whats gone on now between china and india. There is a border dispute a high in the himalayas in what dock on june 15th there was a clash at least 20 indian soldiers were killed perhaps as many as 35 chinese soldiers were killed 10 indians were taken prisoner who have now been returned disappears the u. S. Intelligence Community Says was a deliberate provocation by china but in any event whatever occurred that night it has triggered mass protests against china in india and its going to have consequences for beijing because people in india just were outraged by the killing of indian soldiers in china as more worried about trump or biden. I think theyre worried about both of them but in different ways one thing that trump has done is hes not really worked with allies in trying to build a coalition against china thats something biden would be much better at but i think that the chinese look at trumps policies as being much more resolute than what. A President Biden would be implementing so there are pluses and minuses wrists for beijing i think beijing though ultimately believes that whoever is elected the next president is going to be tougher on china than otherwise largely because its not the question of whether its trump or biden its a question of beijing pushing the u. S. In directions we dont want to go so this is a china question not a President Biden or a President Trump question what it what is beijings reaction to hong kong. When beijing right now is trying to do is in the process of implementing National Security legislation its going through the National Peoples congress in beijing probably will be finalized before july 1st which is the anniversary of the handover of hong kong from britain to china. Basically beijing bypassed the Hong Kong Legislative Council in putting this unpopular legislation in place and this really means a full takeover of hong kong because the provisions that have been released are really draconian and indicate that beijing is not going to put up with any dissent in the territory is it ok to travel langa say for americans. For the meantime it is but we got to remember that even in calm times china will take hostages so for instance there are 2 canadians who have now been held for more than a year and a half only because canada detained mung long joe the weiwei technologies chief Financial Officer at the request of the us and shes subject to an extradition proceeding. And so what china did was it reached out and just grabbed 2 canadians and held them in incommunicado almost so china is always going to be dangerous for foreigners and especially more so as we move into more tense times hong kong is not going to be very much safer or that for them then china you think will have of these 2nd to china in the world i dont think so larry right now what china is doing with its will for diplomacy is aggravating everybody has a we talked about in india the United States even europe is becoming a bit tougher on china the problem with for china though is also its economy it contract in the 1st quarter of this year in reality i think its going to continue to contract this quarter that makes china vulnerable theyve also got a 2nd wave of chronic virus now in beijing which further weakens them so china appears a lot less fearsome than it once did and i think thats going to have repr kushan the us is inherently a Strong Society will weather this and we will be where we are Going Forward gordon chang as always thanks for your time today.
