Americans are being heard around the world as demonstrators launch their own protests in the countries in countries such as the United Kingdom germany canada iran and new zealand and many more but its not only showing support for the racially and financially oppressed underclass here in the United States that has brought many of these global activists to the streets its also the violence that Law Enforcement agencies have perpetrated in their own countries yahoo news reports that protesters are also calling for domestic chart changes in france there are demonstrations in response to the killing of black frenchmen the dhamma tarrar in 2016 and in australia protesters are calling for the government to reexamine the treatment of aboriginal peoples. And this includes our neighbors to the north and canada where toronto is currently reeling from the death of 29 year old black woman regis core chimpsky pocket who mysteriously fell to her death from her 24th floor apartment balcony after police were called to her apartment so today my friends lets examine the black lives Matter Movement outside of us borders as we look at canadas reaction the Police Violence against minorities as we start watching us. Whats going on a cd. You want to. See the prizes you always stay on says. Grace suggests least systemic deception is show which. Brings up the show as. Well were going to watch in the entire world than to run in the 6 joining us now to discuss the latest on the mysterious death of 29 year old black woman regis cortes inskeep after trying to police were called to her home is our correspondent in toronto alex male a bitch thank you for joining us alex. Thanks for having me so alex please explain to our viewers what we know so far about the events leading up to this womans death why were Police Called to her home and what were the and what are they saying took place that led to her to her death her fall. While what were still waiting to hear from the Toronto PoliceServices SpecialInvestigations Unit they usually look into cases like this where theres some discrepancy of what exactly went down but let me tell you something theres been a media leak from the toronto sun and this is basically the story that they are seeing of what theyre saying happened here so miss package has had some mental issues in the past her mother called the police to come because of a domestic dispute when the Police Arrived what they did at that point is actually separate the mother and brother from this pocket herself to go inside to the bathroom couple Police Officers went inside the apartment with her somebody stayed outside with the mother and brother and then out one point she bolted for the balcony according to toronto sun report she put some appliance to block that door of the balcony when a Police Officer saw that he basically ran to get to another apartment and book but she was trying to get from one apartment to another and before they could make it she fell to her death now from that account it looks like police were actually trying to help her. But the situation merits those some some interest in it this is a situation where you have somebody with a history of Mental Health issues it does not look like its necessarily tied to racism per se that said we have had protests in the city because of this issue that were tied directly to george floyd and what has happened in the United States and when you take it to that level again when we talk about merit this is not without merit seeing that we do have our issues here in this country we do know that racism is systematic in canada our own premier here in ontario doug ford. Also said that out loud after denying it in the beginning we do know we have an issue when you look at our Prime MinisterJustin Trudeau in blackface just a few years ago and of course we have them the media picked up on that we do know we have an issue when a former Opposition LeaderStockwell Day is just basically dismissing this and just the whole way the conservative element in this country is looking in to what has happened here in the past its like im saying systematic racism and were talking about anti black racism this is the issue of the day we know we have the same issues with aboriginal communities and other communities but lets talk about whats on the table here all you need to do is go to social media see my fellow canadians on there and you recognize you can recognize right from the 1st point that there is race of the racism in this country as much as we hate to hear it. Alex theres a lot to unpack here to help us with the current status of the investigation into the Toronto Police actions on that day. So what the police are doing right now they were supposed to talk to the family of miss park at this week basically wrap all this up but with the toronto sun leak what police are saying is that they are pushing this further back and it looks like we will have some information by next week from the f. B. I. You itself as it stands and there seems to be some sort of you know there is looking at this report and theres something definitely there are people protesting were going to see where that goes i mean if this does turn into something other than what this story is saying well then you know its going to be just like in the states that people will have a reason to protest something that says that does actually directly tie to racism but i sense as i said as it stands right now that seems to have nothing to do with racism and more to do with the Mental Health issue of an individual something that also Police Forces need to be very sensitive to and thats when theyre approaching people that have these type of. Problems there life. Thank you very much alex for joining us today and giving us the breakdown on that case i think its definitely one to watch given the given as your sub the nature of racism that we see in canada and around the globe that spacing a lot of Different Police departments thank you so much sir. Thank you. America remains in chaos more than a week up to the death of george would protest from coast to coast and here in the Nations Capital hoping to put an end to Police Brutality and to push forward the black lives Matter Movement here now are some of the most powerful moments weve witnessed in the past few days and i will put a disclaimer on them they are wrong they are real and they are violent. I think i you. Know you cant walk in here because if you want to come here youre not going to be here. Water so. Its like we cant talk we cant breathe we cant walk cant we cant sleep we cant do anything cant drive without being here we cant even call the cops for our safety. Locks and that. Great great great great great great great great great great big. No. I think whats going on in philadelphia in that moment its going for the law to me come out good to get out not write a. Racist name. I like to address what. I mean. But you can see. The. Situation right. Now. And thats again it is a federal. Law state. Or to use your State Facility to cite for this so i. Can feel. It and i says well you know this whole thing is not as if he knew. That what i was filing that they dont stay silent anymore and that you know they said to speak about these guys these things are important and we do need to speak about this because they will keep quiet its just going to stay the way they are. You know getting out right i guess. Joining us now to also try to try to bring us a deeper look into the case that we were discussing earlier with alex relevance and how it has affected the community and try to as well as the world as writer activists dont miss out on great thank you so much for joining us i want to start and ask you what bothers you and others in toronto so deeply about the polices actions surrounding this park caps and death and what questions desperately need to be need to be answered at this moment. Well unfortunately this is all too common. We have a gentleman by the name of angelo q who is experiencing a Mental Health episode and police were called to the building where he was that were and experience the episode shortly afterwards he was shot to death not for longer gentlemen but the name of the author of campbell wouldnt be a brampton area which is just outside of toronto suburban area it was also apparently experiencing a Mental Health that the so were some sort of servants and when the Police Showed up and he was shot to death and now we see it again where the circumstances behind behind the packet steps are still up to the special Investigations Unit sit still and question right now the fact of the matter is police were called to the home of somebody he was experiencing went to hope it was so happens so. Its unfortunate that when people of the Family Member or friends or partners of some Years Experience about the hope that with so it is going or going through them to have questions as to whether they should even Call Emergency Services what can happen what could be the end result of that. And underrate we know here in america that americans have a very long sordid in pretty troubled history with u. S. Law enforcement not only for people of color but also Indigenous Peoples and weve heard time and time again that there is such a push to have these people often go to a place like canada that seen as so much better in terms of its handling of race how prevalent is racism in canada Law Enforcement community. I dont even really know what to tell you when people say things like oh you know its different to canada they dont have the same kind of racism that exists in the United States unfortunately it doesnt help when our elected officials are people like our premier doug ford of ontario which is the most a populous province in canada. France where they go the other premier. Deny that stomach reaches them its even a thing that exists but we know what that is because. The statistics bear it out that were terrible it collecting data get it were awful like collecting statistics but what we do shows step there are disproportionate about the Police Violence that are used especially on not on black people in the one in which in this people these arent conjectures these are plain facts weve had marches in canada not only for black wise but also for indigenous lives we have had proof that there is a genocide thats been acted on Indigenous People in canada the young men especially from the genus communities do you think this report events of Police Violence so when people in the United States and elsewhere talk about racism being different in canada i have to ask what are you talking about thats a great question to ask you know i want to finish up weve got a little bit of minute left we see an incredible response across the globe to the black lives Matter Movement here in the u. S. In light of joy george lloyds death why do you think that countries like canada other countries around the world are so embrace in this movement were seeing protests all over the world right now. Well this is this is putting a spark to the few black racism not only in the United States but literally around the world you know even can you can find replicate so that sort of racism that is the United States you can find it you know it can be done you can find it in the mainland europe you can find in countries like south africa still its still a problem we like to believe that weve made strides of progress in that racism is the thing in the past and unfortunately if you if you talk to people from black new and used just about anywhere in the world they will tell you know like this didnt just go away because there were some social science made i think what youre seeing right now is the order to scold and the way to the idea that racism is a little longer a problem when you look at the fact that there are protests happening in every part of the 50 states and. People are coming up for a reason it is that that is so true i want to thank you very much for coming on and really highlighting this for us and hope to have you back on again soon thank you so much for all the good work that you do in covering these issues as well andrea. Thank you. All right as we go to break remember that you can also start watching the looks on the man through the brand new portable t. V. Up available on all platforms coming up the n. F. L. Is being accused of preposterously for their official stance on the protests taking rocking the United States taking place and then archies burn problems that brings us the latest on the fallout the president trumps threats of martial law straight to what. You can be both with the yeah you like. I think it was Government Official of president i dont have faith in the system i swear im god its all right im too liberal the system is not decided for people like me whom you believe are struggling. To find the poor here for Different Reasons but also job loss to home. Most people in philadelphia are only a ballot 2 paychecks away from homelessness. Kind of financial survival john today was all about Money Laundering 1st to visit this convention to 3 different. Luxury automobile again from that you know what Money Laundering is highly illegal thank you so much kaiser of course. 54 jets and more than 1300 military personnel are headed to air force base in alaska where is that to say come on ill show you whats the reason for any type of enhanced u. S. Military presence in this area rush up. What is it suddenly about the South China Sea that makes it so that it 11000000000 barrels of oil you. Take a look at this map who really owns what kind of says no it belongs to us india says no we claim that that belongs to us both of these countries have Nuclear Weapons capabilities there is reason for concern so thats why were going to drill down on this story for you today right here on the news with rick sanchez where you know as we always like to say we do believe by golly its time to do news again. Thanks its protests continue in the wake of the george when were weve seeing Officers National guardsmen people of all races and backgrounds joining in solidarity some are taking me others are marching alongside protesters and giving voice to the voice. But the solidarity doesnt stop there the race issues in america are also receiving support from professional sports coaches and players too Even International in v. A. Icon Michael Jordan known for his effort to get into action in social Justice Movements is taking a stand and an interesting show of protest support also came from n. F. L. Commissioner Roger Goodell the same goodell that made sure Colin Kaepernick would never play again after taking a knee just a few years ago here to tell us more is our team america sports producer regina him id like to bring good news monday i would just one day and were waiting for it were waiting for the day what were doing to the n. F. L. Is currently under fire for its response to the protests over the death of george lloyd especially since it essentially blacklisted collin capper nick whos still is not able to be employed by the n. F. L. For taking me or that the National Anthem what are some of the comments teams have made and how is the leagues response being received overall oh the league oh the league you know youre playing devils advocate youre got your it leaves you said Something Like if they hadnt said anything the i or they would have drawn would be immense the you know the n. F. L. Said theyre saddened by the tragic events across our country the protesters reactions reflect the pain anger and frustration that many of them feel many of them interesting considering theres only 4 non white coat head coaches in the league one nonwhite owner and 2 not my g. M. And then the broncos coach vick then gio he decided to chime in and got himself in some hot water he said that the n. F. L. Is only a meritocracy i dont see racism in the n. F. L. At all i dont see discrimination in the n. F. L. At all and of course as you can imagine many of his fellow coaches and other players only kind of when you need to check yourself if you think theres no races in the n. F. L. This is the same lee that blackballed calling cabinet as a as much as you said where are you saying this is a totally fair you know league that were going to do sorry were. It was all white white and one day our city isnt there yet no youre pretty much like a crumb in an oreo cookie theres a lot of frosting and one crow the broncos coach is trying to keep his job and you try to apologize he did he try to do that i realize what i said was wrong but didnt say he that the problem didnt exist so if the n. F. L. Is under hot water and your breeze decided to add fuel to the flames saying that he doesnt agree with anybody disrespects the flag including somehow Aaron Rodgers aside in a cabinet so its been a weird stance in the n. F. L. And you see them kind of sticking their status quo nothings changed if we switch over theres a theres another Major Sports League in the United States that actually has been making some pretty good strides in terms of what since all this started the n. B. A. Has been praised for that only supporting players who protest but theyre also making strides towards legitimate changes within their league in terms of how they treat black athletes how this is out of their comparative the n. F. L. With what their players and coaches are doing you see a lot more support from the top down in the n. B. A. You see adam silver the leagues commissioner talking about how you know they do require players to stand for the anthem but they push your players go out and talk on social issues go out be active in your community and thats the big difference is the fact they want their place speak out actually its stuff curry was just out protesting in oakland with the protesters there so theyre encouraging their players they actually have a the National Basketball association established a committee on in Justice Reform with gold star or as head coach steve kerr and Gregg Popovich of san diego spurs both very outspoken on social media about this cause and getting out and let me assure their players are vocal about it and that is what we need to see in our professionally you need to see more of coaches and players and League Officials be like talk about this please get involved in what cream of. Jobar good lord im so angry about this you can hear it in my voice and he even came out and spoke about it so you need to see the other leagues the n. The n. H. L. The m l b the n. F. L. Pushing their players that this is good to talk about this for the betterment of everybody absolutely and i think that in all of the leagues we need more. Coaches like steve kerr live popovich to have the entirety of their careers being raced forward being the people who are just extremely understanding of whats going on this isnt new to them theyve been true to this more decades know they they stand by what they say they stick by their morals and so much for bringing us this news from the sporting world always a pleasure from. Ordering tear gas attacks on Peaceful Protesters in the Nations Capital backfired for us president. It looks like his last minute photo op in front of one of the oldest churches whats holding a bible wasnt the right move not only is trump facing criticism from the bishop of the local diocese of washington religious leaders throughout the country elected officials and concerned citizens troops top brass have spoken out to u. S. Military advisor James Miller Jr resigned from his post in a strongly worded letter directly calling out secretary of defense mark answered in the letter esper is accused of by leading his oath to defend the constitution through his support of troops use of the military on peacefully protesting civilians joining us to shed more light on this developing story its hard to correspondent. Good to have you once more im so you were there moments before the now infamous picture was taken on monday and then the next day you were also there with protestors what was the energy like in deployed to up heighten the protests you know its funny to me so my photographer and i we were just minutes in front of where those canisters were fired so had we waited 5 more minutes we would have been in the thick of it all and the next day as you mentioned you know when i was with those protesters we also saw tons of religious leaders from all faiths coming out they were praying outside of St Johns Church where our live shot was set up to announce that were trying to do even have catholic priests going to the protesters and sprinkling holy water on them now these were some of the photos that i happen to take while we were there but its mondays photo obviously thats the big issue that james miller has with the defense secretary marc esper who actually published. His resignation in the Washington Post writing to asper president trumps actions monday night violated his oath to take care that the laws be faithfully executed you may not have been able to stop the president but you could have chosen to oppose it instead you visibly supported it. You know its interesting because now you have a whole lot of backpedaling going on since the spota war at the bottle started it seems like james millers seeing what everyone else saw what is the trumpet ministration you know our other excusing what of it what leg are they leaning on today reisa tyrrell so when when you think about when you were a little kid right and you got in trouble whats the 1st thing that little kids say i didnt know was going to happen right thats exactly what mark esper is now saying in fact trump is actually mad that hes backpedaling now but as for says that he was told that he was going to be doing just 2 things the 1st was looking at the damage of St Johns Church from the night before because they got spray painted it was part of the basement caught on fire and talking with the troops in Lafayette Park which is directly across the street from the white house he also did push back on the media though saying that what was reported was actually an accurate listen to this National Guard forces did not fire rubber bullets or tear gas in the crowd as reported. Second guardsmen were instructed to wear helmets and personal protective equipment for their own protection not to service some form of intimidation. And we also have another person who was on that walk the nations highest ranking military officer echoing what asper just said and you also have attorney general bill barr hes coming out saying that it wasnt trump who ordered the gas canisters it was him trying to take all the blame off of trouble so again its rewriting history or is it protesters reporters getting the facts wrong whos to say. That thats a good question a very good question to ask fair and i got to say thank you so much and thank you for bringing that report to us live and thankfully you werent caught in the middle of a very dangerous photo op by our president thank you so much always a pleasure thanks. And we should just keep building and building doesnt that never seems to stop no no i do believe a word coming out of the white house when they talk about bill barr saying oh were just trying to like you know stretch out the block and i dont believe a word out of the white house in general and i definitely think that you know this story keeps on changing and more things keep getting added to it it tells us that you know once you start a law youve got to keep the law going that seems to be the case isnt it its like they just cannot give up the go its like no we didnt look at this historic moment that im reading a member senior to reading off a p. R. Piece talking to reporters today the White House Press secretary saying went oh no it was a great moment and really good she had an email like m. L. K. Quote because you got to have one of those youre the only people who think that was a great moment the rest of us are frightened to death by that moment are that is our show for you today remember everyone in this world were not told the love that stuff so i tell you all i love you i wrote that for us and im going to keep watching those hawks stay safe out there and have a great day and night. A murder was never great was founded on the rapes in the murder. Nothing changed so we said no response so these situations that were dealing with.
