The c. D. C. Is officially linking it to covert my team but. Heres the issue that link is not yet fully understood this disease this illness that were all talking about its called pediatric multisystem inflammatory syndrome and im going to take you through how it was discovered in just a minute but before i do that what i need to do is tell you that this syndrome in children is being compared to another rare childhood condition youve heard about this that was called the kawasaki disease because saki disease does indeed share some symptoms with this new illness that were talking about its not the same disease but they share some of the symptoms in fact should we go and show some of these symptoms to see what they look like whats true that let me let me show you what some of these symptoms are because i think this is important if your child presents with a fever that last 24 hours plus if your child has abdominal pains and diarrhea and vomiting if your child has a rash or changes in skin color see some of these are different than what weve told you that are the symptoms for kovan 1000 right if your child has trouble breathing that one is similar to cope and 19 if your child seems confused and hes suddenly overly sleepy those are the signs of this new illness that people are talking about this pediatric inflammatory syndrome so let me let me show you now how this all got started going to take you back to april 27th and april 27th doctors in london suddenly noticed that there was this this is inflammatory condition that a lot of children were getting and it was affecting so many of them because what was rare was the same children apparently had earlier presented with covert 19 so they started seeing the track they want to see there was a pattern so they sent an alert out all over the world to all the doctors all the Childrens Hospitals all over the world it got picked up in new york city with some Health Department officials. New york city said hey were seeing something similar here too so then next step lets go to may 2nd may 2nd in boston at the boston Childrens Hospital one of the most renowned Childrens Hospitals in the world they convened a teleconference where they joined people from all over the world and doctors so that they could share notes with each other what do you know what do you know what are you seeing where you are this included experts in pediatric fields and pediatric intensive care pediatric cardiology pediatric rheumatology Infectious Disease experts in the kawasaki disease all these acts were from all over the world are doing a teleconference together and what they conclude is that this syndrome in children is distinct from other illnesses so it is different and it seems to present in children so far that ive also been exposed to kovan but its very rare its still very rare thats important theres Something Else i want to tell you lets go back to talk about the kawasaki disease because again its a difference disease were hearing now from the u. K. s Kawasaki Disease Foundation these are people whove been working on this for years decades and theyre putting out a statement to all parents around the world where they want them to know that although it presents like college saki this disease that were talking about theyre not seeing a direct tie between coated 19 and kawasaki the disease itself you get that theyre not seeing a direct tie in fact heres the numbers they put up they say that of the 11000000 children the u. K. Including many who have been exposed to kovan 1000. 00 so far only 20 have tested positive there for kawasaki. For college saki itself and thats down from how many children they see with kawasaki on a normal year so see that thats good news right thats good news so were giving you everything that we can get the syndrome. Is an offshoot of kawasaki is it an offshoot of coed 19 or neither or both will it become more prevalent as we move forward these are very important questions and many of them remain unanswered folks this is new stuff but we believe its important to keep asking we believe its important to report to you what we know because thats what we think is important here because here on the news the rick sanchez we do think its time to do news again. Far lets go over the questions questions we think that youre going to be asking tomorrow what do we know or need to know about how cold it affects children do the death toll trends really substantiate are suddenly Opening Stores and restaurants all over the country will greed profit get in the way of the development of a covert team vaccine. Once again in case you didnt hear this news the very 1st case of a child dying from this covert 19 related disease or syndrome that weve been talking about has taken place its happened in france and its been confirmed this this little boy he tested positive for corona virus he received treatment at a hospital for 7 days and then he died saturday this 9 year old boy went into cardiac arrest and the doctors were not able to pull him out they were able to save his life with more now from new york where theyre dealing with us as well this rare illness here is our t. Correspondent attorney charges. That the c. D. C. Officially issuing a Health Advisory to thousands of doctors across the country warning to look out for a troubling new syndrome that may be associated with copd in 1000. 00 in most commonly were seeing kids present with high fever its been going on for 3 or 4 days typically a rash and its a very disseminated rash the illness called a multisystem implement tory centrum being seen in children across europe and at least 18 states plus washington d. C. Their reality is that were still going on which. Is an acting. Doctors in the u. K. 1st sounding the alarm to this engine in april since then physicians in other countries including italy in france. Have reported clusters of similar cases. And what were seeing in the children it suggests that in some children be that a rare small number of kids they have a hyper. Inflammatory response that happens the state of new york accounting for more than 100 infections and 3 deaths a 5 year old boy a 7 year old boy and an 18 Year Old Girl we thought initially bad it didnt affect children were now dealing with an issue thats very disturbing the illness which affects blood vessels and other organs has similar symptoms to talk sex shock syndrome and callous saki disease the main thing about how psyche disease that worries us as pediatricians is that it can leave its untreated lead to something that we call coronary artery aneurysm and those can be fatal and they oftentimes develop after the symptoms of. The disease which is most commonly found in children under the age of 5 was named after japanese pediatrician thomas sacu callous saki after he described 50 cases of infants with persistent fever rash redness and cracking of the lips in 1967 and the 1st cases outside of japan were reported in 1976 the callous saki disease occurs worldwide the highest instance of infection is in japan for every 100000 children between 132140 kids under the age of 5 get infected most often affecting boys meantime estimates indicate that at least 3000. 00 cases of the illness are diagnosed each year in the u. S. With less than a point 5 percent mortality rate experts say the illness in most cases can be treated with aspirin reporting in new york trinity charges r. T. Let me say once again. What i think is a really important point here a lot of this information is brand new a lot of really. Smart people are still trying to figure it out and calculated we happen to be lucky enough to have a really smart guy whos joining us now and i mean this guy invented the term Network Health reporter he was one of the 1st Health Reporters for n. B. C. News for many many years he and i worked together as a matter of fact were joined by none other than dr bob are not talking about a very very serious story that were still trying to come to grips with right dr bob have you what is your sense of this thing what does its leading you to think is going on. So rick whats so interesting about this is that you know we have seen in the very severe adult cases this hyper inflammatory syndrome just give you a sense of this you know we look at these markers c. R. P. Each opponent ferritin d. Dimer so you might have you know an aisle 6 score a c. R. P. Score you know 50 or 100 theyre seen in the thousands so the main thing when you start to see the you know the respiratory collapse and the severe shock in adults is you have this tremendous and planetary response so you gave an excellent count of the very symptoms those with our saki disease and this you expect to see the redness in the eyes you have a rash perhaps on the face you have the lymph nodes the raspberry tongue you know the peeling to the hands and feet whats different here is that you have this very severe abdominal pain and diarrhea in the cardinal sign the one that worries all of us so much is that effects the cardiovascular system and youre actually reporting there were saying that look it would kawasaki disease you expect many years later that they may develop an aneurism of the quarter arteries they are coming in shock as you saw 3 of them and they couldnt they couldnt revive were started his adults too with a comedian flavored shock and its leading some thoughts about a new technology rick which is called movie a for this. Extra kapoor ial membrane oxygenation basically a heart lung machine that theyre starting to roll out and some of these cases are extremely troubling and anybody whos cavalier about sending kids back to school has to think twice or more with the syndrome much this valving yes and heres what so confusing. We have of color saki disease we have this pediatric inflammatory syndrome that were talking about and we have code 19 all 3 are different diseases different situations conditions if you will and theyre trying to figure out how they interrelate right but it seems to me from all the research ive spent the morning on they havent quite figured out yet. Well rick im going to i was listening im really impressed not to go to a doctor at you really know your stuff i was really in thrall by your reporting there so you know whats interesting is of course is that you know not all of these kids who come down with this new syndrome are positive for co but at the time that they come into the hospital they may have antibodies from the past so we know about kawasakis diseases that there are triggers and that there may be a genetic component with the covert cases it doesnt seem there is that genetic or from the a component but they do have in these cases with the disease this terrible inflammatory is in rome and you know i have been dealing with a lot of the i. C. Used around the world to do a call almost every day with various ice use and what theyre seeing and they are starting to see the charitable terrifying cardiovascular collapse in iraq younger adults and now in children so you know what is it we dont know some crossover the kawasaki. Symptoms obviously but also you see that some of these kids you know dont test positive for covert so tricky and bottom line i always said when this disease hits our shore and you look at all of the medical talent here were going to find a lot of very Surprising New aspects of the disease or it and her 1st at it in terms of bringing the viewers around the world great job probably the best dr bob arnot and the key word here is rare so far and lets just cross our fingers and hope it stays that way thank you dr appreciate it welcome. All right there is the news rick sanchez youre watching our special coverage and were going to be right back dont go away. I like it when the hosts ask a question for the guests and then actually listens to the guests answer and then react to that answer a folks Dennis Miller here ive got a new show. On the larry king question being listening learning you know always said i never learned anything when i was talking its important to listen to. Question more. Ive seen the horrors that arise the money in the evil. Corporate criminals who trashed countless lives to add just one more dollar to their billions. They threaten they bribe theyll do anything to keep their crimes in the door but the people theyve heard are demanding justice their stories need to be told on americas lawyer. V. Im holland cook i invite you to climb with me above the main stream media mire and from that higher fan to each to glimpse the big picture question more. But america is the United States and countries all over the world d begin opening up stores and restaurants and people start going back to work this question bears asking do the trends the death tolls the hospitalizations etc do they substantiate people going back to work at the words are we going back to work because things are truly Getting Better or is it simply because we put a we picked a date on a calendar and said this is the day that were going to go back to work and do we invite a 2nd wave of the disease by going back to work and questions right where the numbers say what the researchers are saying what are states finding out lets go to Michelle Green stuff shes been following the story for us some you know what charges 50 states out there can you try and give us a sense of how things are going so for or is it a little too early well there is definitely time to get a sense of what theyre reopening picture looks like nationwide what were looking at now are the states that are either on lockdown or no longer on lockdown now the green states are no longer on lockdown they dont have stand homeowners and they dont have statewide shelter in place orders like arizona their stay at home order actually is expiring today so as of now arizona is a green state and some news out of wisconsin this week the state Supreme Court ended the emergency order calling it a vast seizure of power so now wisconsins no longer on lockdown as well its green as well now in red these are the states that still have lockdown policies in place for mond was actually set to have this order expire today but just extended it to june 15th but some of these lockdown policies are set to expire before the end of may before the end of the month so lets take a take a look at that so some of these red states are going to be turning yellow we have minnesota whose order expires on the 17th and North Carolina whose order expires on the 22nd now lets take a look at where people are dying and actually overlay it with our map to see. If theres a correlation between morbidity rates and states deciding to reopen so for example we have some things like jump out right away right new york is both red in terms of deaths and also red in terms of not still being under lockdown and that makes sense right that sounds like you know the governors making a decision based on morbidity rates then you have things that actually start to stand out a little bit you have illinois which is going to end its lockdown policy but looks like its still red in terms of deaths now another interesting case is texas it looks like theyve reopened right Retail Stores are opening theres no shelter in place or theres no stay at home order but texas actually is still red in terms of death so its begging the question why would texas do such a thing so now i want to take you to another way of looking at the situation were going to look at this based on deaths per 100000 people this is another map that actually accounts more for a population some experts say this is better you know when were comparing different areas while also accounting for population density now new york still had the hardest with 140. 00 deaths per 100000 people but when you look at deaths per 100000. 00 people texas starts to look a little better right now texas is actually a little bit later its not in the red like a state new york and texas actually just has 4 deaths per 100000 people now rick this is what the numbers say and you also asked me what the researchers say but the thing is theyre not all saying the same thing some say that given these mortality rates you know places like new york 140 people dying per 100000 people we should not be opening up people should stay home and states like texas should prepare for that infamous 2nd wave but other experts say that because were not testing everyone in this country that case numbers were working with are actually lower than they really are the mortality rates are actually higher than they really are but of course rick we still know very little about this virus and its possible that if there is a 2nd wave it may not be obvious to us right away thats good good explanation bridge to show for taking us through there and lets go to russia you know in the news. I dont know if youve noticed c. N. N. Everybody is running with this story and a lot of a lot of folks are asking questions a lot has been written a lot is being talked about today regarding coronavirus numbers that are coming out of russia moscow in particular the peculiarity of russia is that while the case load is high the mortality rate is remain low there are many explanations that are being offered for this does it have to do with the reporting does it have to do with the way the Health Care System works does it have to do with the patients and their own natural d. N. A. What is it joining us now from moscow heres our r. T. Correspondent shop all of our try to help us get a better understanding of this what what what what are you are what are you being told there are in moscow by Health Officials you have. Probably a whole of the rise yells things and measures regulation i think both cools the russians have to send big saying to you to all the doctors nurses ambulance drivers and all those medical workers and loads for that absolutely outstanding work whats important is that all sort of doxes like surgeons kinds eulogists even dentists in some cases have been called to hospitals and qualified to deal with coronavirus patients and a quick word now about the russian Health Care System which is not particularly schools and you will criticize it here but he in russia we have inherited this soviet Health Care System which used to be free of charge and oriented to absolutely all the patients no matter how right oh poor so right now any patients an elderly lady for example with high Blood Pressure can call an ambulance even 3 times a day and it will arrive sri only times and thats patient will receive necessary help free of charge so these days people are being advised not to go to clinics in case theyve developed a cold like symptoms but to call ambulances in order not to spread the virus you know apart from that. Cools theres been a number of measures undertaken by the government russia had some extra time to get the pads when the pandemic began to rage in china and then in europe the disease came to the country to russia later so deals overseas have to pad theres an old existing hospitals even in maternity hospitals full patients where they had 910 class new hospitals has been built all are being built right now even the armys involved in be construction process plus officially its not called a court yes im just thinking that explanation you just gave make so much sense because im going to do a little comparison youre in moscow im in washington d. C. Here in america 47000000 americans do not have insurance those who who who have insurance dont even know what their insurance covers many of them are afraid because they think theyre going to have to pay for things that they may not have to pay for therefore in america people do not have a relationship with their Health Care System they dont even know who their doctor is unless theyre 65 years old and on medicare in countries like russia and other places in the world you do have a relationship with your Health Care Provider i think youre on to something i think that does make a big difference. Well yeah youre right actually i do know my doctors but that doesnt matter that if you have a problem you just need to call ambulance or call your clinic and. Help but were live absolutely and all this lia we have all the all the widespread measures all come common place measures like everyone in other countries has that the government has closed all Day Enterprises restaurants cafes beauty salons and just people to stay home pushing restrictions that movements people are allowed to leave for a shop twice a week if they will could dog they can yet their house near that apartment block. And so on people are strictly advised to keep social distancing and me myself as observing the socalled core unseen thing with my family in a remote village in the Moscow Region safely he is a devil i apologize for my Internet Connection right you look great you look fantastic and youre doing a fantastic job and i think theres a very instructive segment were so glad that youre there for us let me ask you a question in moscow maybe on like the United States did they put these policies right away and did that generally speaking most of the populace abide by them. Well its a good question actually because many people do criticize them but i think all of those and. They are absolutely necessary and yes people just have to. They just have to they just have to do a little dance that tool to yeah because i think that goes back to i dont know if thats. The making of different people or the fact that we do come from the soviet system where you know there were mandates its a different type of governance so theres a fascinating conversation you and i could go all day about this and im glad we have this conversation i think people learn how other people in the world are dealing with us there she is really a shop of all of a good enough to join us from moscow to share with us some of this information well lets do this lets do sports theres a turn steve christakis is good enough to join us now we call this segment usually on fridays joke talk but since weve been doing it all week long we figured wed keep going and have this conversation how you feel is everything going to good if i had everything right a shelf already im ready to go no ties on fridays you know keep it has been comfortable its good what do you do it well today you know we like to bring some fun videos from the week some of the best videos weve seen the most extreme there was an actually spun 11 year old brazilian skateboarder geek yuri now he took time during the core team to perfect the skills now he didnt just perfect the skills right there he does a 1080. 00 spin look at 3 full rotations and hes 11 right tony hawk set a record on overt ramp back in 99 doing a 900 he just broke that record on overt rip so how many do in their 134 and so thats a 1080 he is the 1st person ever to do a 1080 on overt rant breaking tony hawks record our friend from laureus actually hes a nice guy but it looks like a lot of fun it really is but that have that much skill to do that i mean tony hawk was very much older when he accomplished back in 99 so that was pretty incredible to set a record like that but one of my favorite videos that we can show you heard about it we talked about mike tyson were big boxing fans here a lot of people in the office talking about box scene now. Now mike tyson took to his social media and wanted to let the fans know that he has something in the works but watch him take a listen to what he says at the end here check it out. With a great beer. Here that. Kind of like in a j. M. Big stats that is really that i really am that its him on monday he dropped out on his instagram social media so thats him training now if theres rumors you know Evander Holyfield tyson part 3 we might have you know evander the next day dropped a video saying hes back to here he is training i mean now ok mike tyson is 53 right there holyfield 57 look at these guys it looks like theyre in their ideas event or on the field doesnt surprise me now that hes always been that way right he was the was when he was this is true yeah and he knocked out tyson the 1st time 2nd time of course tyson bit his ear off a couple times so we want to see Tyson Holyfield 3 maybe its going to be for charity down to 30 seconds what number 3 now that was our top video of the week that was that was the best one we had for you mike tyson i thought that was the could you do some funny ones at least.
