A moment to assess what the real situation is by the way just in recent time there has been the blame russia narrative im sure youre very familiar with that and then there was the blame mexico narrative and who could ever forget Freedom Fries when we decided as a nation that it was time to blame france so now our media and our government leaders want to shift our attention away from whats going on right here in the United States and focus instead on what happened in a lab in china last year which may be a legitimate side of the story and certainly worthy of coverage but shouldnt whats going on right here right now to all of us affecting our families be more important just a question theres 2 ways to look at this right and i want to break it down for you numerically and visually 1st the numbers. There are right now 234000. 00 people in the world who have died from the coronavirus of those 63000. 00 are americans that means the United States which accounts for less than 5 percent of the worlds population 5 percent of the worlds population is responsible for more than 25 percent of the worlds coronavirus deaths think about that and the trend also is not good remember when we used to watch stories out of places like italy and we marveled at the death toll and we felt really bad we felt sorry for them right now the world is looking at us the same way in fact in april alone but number of deaths in the United States is larger than that of all of the people who have died in both italy and the u. K. Over the entire year and those are the next 2 countries on the death toll list globally after the United States were number one then 2 and 3. And then theres this i want you to take a look at these videos from all over the world depicting the extreme measures that countries are taking to try and somehow keep their death tolls in check lets start in mexico this is in the t. Wanna see this they set up elaborate drive through is for all the vehicles that must be sad ties daily bolivia they come up with a system of designated heat and steam venues encouraging all citizens to pass through at some point this video that were going to show you from caracas but this could be anywhere else in the world where they use disinfectant trucks and hoses and they send them out before daybreak to strike scrub the streets every single day and all vehicles and buildings by the way here weve got this theyre doing the same thing in moscow maybe a little more sophisticated with columns of sanitation vehicles set out every morning to make sure all the streets are clean lets stay in moscow look what they did they built the russian authorities there built an Emergency Hospital they did in less than a month they built a hospital exclusively for kovan 1000 patients that may need Critical Care so they can be taken care of china they did the same thing but they did it even faster they build an entire hospital complex in 10 days is this the u. S. Version of this this is the United States tents and tarps being set up as a makeshift hospital rooms in central park in manhattan. Our country. So whether you look at the numbers or whether you look at the visuals the results right now for our country are not really so good right if this were a business and some of us whove had a little bit of experience in business these are the questions that we would be asking what did we do wrong and what can we now do better questions by the way which have nothing the hell to do with politics. This is the news with rick sanchez where we truly believe its time to do news again. Theres the list of the questions we think youll be asking tomorrow after watching the newscast today that were going to present for you is the u. S. Far behind the rest of the world on covert 1000 and why what happened with the sudden acts of defiance in michigan and in new york this is amazing video you going to want to stick around to watch this and what do prosecutors handwritten notes reveal about Michael Flynns case remember he was convicted. Good evening today the president of the United States is threatening to punish china once again and he wants to do it with even more tariffs the threat has sent wall street reeling the Dow Jones Industrial has consistently been down all morning under 500 points after the president s announcement meanwhile the white house announced yesterday that the u. S. Has made quote all the right moves when it comes to the coronavirus in fact jared cushion or the chief white house special adviser said and these are his direct words the u. S. Response is an american success story. Joining us now to discuss this is former u. K. Member of Parliament George galloway i guess george i start there do you see this do you think the world is seeing this as an american success story. Well im looking forward to the 1st frying of freedom noodles and i cant better your brilliant introduction seems in inverse proportion the braca duck chill of the trumpet ministration on the bottle strengths in government here in london and the actual outcome on the on the ground im in london its 15 times more dangerous in london than it is in berlin which is less than 2 hours flying time away and the United States death toll is indeed the worst in the world and britains will indeed be the 2nd worst in the world now you can make up your mind whether you think its just a coincidence both of our leaders of the shock of blond hair are or you can conclude that both of our countries have historically and contemporaneously been doing the wrong things i mean no. Stand all those countries you are. All the things that they did that we didnt do must be connected to the outcomes places like singapore china south korea this is not political had 0 deaths yesterday we had 750 and havent knows how many youve had so when the history of this comes to be written it will not be like world war 2 where mr churchill was determined to write his own history about his own achievements trump and johnson will not be allowed to do that and i think it will be quite damning the volumes that will be propriety joost how could this be though think about it your u. K. Historically one of the greatest most sophisticated countries on earth the United States of america certainly the most sophisticated country on earth for the past half a century or so how is it possible with all of our resources that we. Could be falling behind the countries like as you mention south korea what are we getting wrong what dont we get george. Or how the mighty have fallen if you look on in europe greece has done fantastically well despite its broken back to calling me its heavy rain debt ratio and sauron germany of course is a rich country and has done fantastically well despite a huge and very dense population this is what we need to consider carefully after this is all over how did it come to this how did 2 great countries like yours and mine turn out to be the wost countries in the world in handling a pandemic the question of will the pandemic came from is of course an important issue but its a secondary issue because people are still dying like flies in both our countries and indeed in many other countries at this point in time but i sense an election coming on in the United States and the us just like russia gate has dominated the last 3 years in american politics china gate is going to dominate the next couple and this is all look over the blame someone else as you say even france your historic country your revolutionary country that gave you the statue of liberty was put on the king stool when george w. Bush needed someone to blame for the disaster of iraq do you think sometimes it has as much to do with anything else is just as a country both yours and mine sometimes were just and im going to use this its an american term im not sure if youre familiar with it over there just to cocky overconfidence. You know american exceptionalism british exceptionalism frankly the only thing exceptional above us right now is our death toll amounts of a grisly grim way of being exceptional. Out of gumped empire and we all know the hubris comes before the fall and im afraid both of our empires one fall and one falling and these are the telltale signs of that i must say when i look at pres the drum with all respect to the American People i feel im looking out the raging of colleague good luck. And slightly better educated he oftentimes is on connected to reality and these are hallmarks of falling empire and if we again im against them pos but if we want to have our countries in the front ranks and surely we do then were going to have to do everything that we do very much differently in the future was what weve been doing is what has paved the way to this spot and whats most interesting and i think we must say this because i feel it and i know its true those leaders and that type of leadership that you just described that were undergoing right now is not representative of the british people or the people of the u. K. Nor is it representative of the American People but it is what it is George Galloway my thanks to you i appreciate the conversation there are 2 big stories that developed this week that may best capture the frustration that Many Americans seem to feel about whats going on with the coronavirus in the United States one occurred last night in michigan amazing armed citizens stormed the capitol and then another occurred earlier this week in new york where members of the set of Jewish Community disobeyed rules about large gatherings by taking to the streets in mass here is r. T. Correspondent john. Protesters stormed the State Capitol in lansing michigan thursday demanding to be allowed on to the house floor as michigan lawmakers debated an extension to democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer is emergency coronavirus orders would merit standard Michigan State of emergency orders until may 28th a move that will keep many businesses closed particularly bars restaurants and casinos while opening some other retail establishments and allowing people to use parks boats and play golf still protesters some wearing bulletproof vests and armed with guns demanded the entire order be lifted and the entire state be allowed to reopen so far there are more than 41000. 00 coronavirus cases in michigan with close to 4000. 00 deaths President Trump tweeted his support for the protest in michigan writing quote the governor of michigan should give a little and put out the fire these are very good people but they are angry they want their lives back again safely see them talk to them make a deal the scene in michigan is one of several other recent protests against a coronavirus emergency orders in harrisburg pennsylvania april 20th hundreds of people protested the governor shutdown orders there through may 8th when the state plans to start gradually reopening its economy and another scene unfolded this week that made headlines this one in Brooklyn New York where the n. Y. P. D. On orders from new york city mayor bill de blasio broke up his city jewish funeral for a well known rabbi where hundreds of mourners at least packed the streets the blasio blasted the gathering tweeting something absolutely unacceptable happened in williamsburg tonight a large funeral gathering in the middle of this pandemic when i heard i went there myself to ensure the crowd was dispersed and what i saw will not be tolerated so long as we are fighting the coronavirus the blasio followed up with another tweet saying he instructed the n. Y. P. D. To start handing out tickets or even arrest anyone gathering in large groups writing this is about stopping this disease and saving lives period he later apologized for lashing out at the mourners saying he spoke out of passion and frustration and his great love and respect for new yorks Jewish Community. The notion that people would gather in large numbers and even if they mean to would spread a disease that will kill other members of the community is just unacceptable to me for the news with Rick Sanchez John honey so those 2 are they acts of defiance the one in michigan and the want to new york is it an act perhaps of patriotism or is it something bigger frustration that is being felt by americans right now were going to ask that question of a psycho therapist when we come back this is the news with rick sanchez and youre watching our special coverage will be right back. We go to work. Straight home. Sinks. We. Ask. So you saw that video we showed you just a little while ago 2 of them actually people storming the capitol in michigan and people having a funeral in defiance of the gatherings rules that have been set up in new york so we asked the question now with these types of things and by the way both situations got kind of ugly there when the police had to move in what is going on is there a general sense of frustration in the United States and is it as much of anything else just psychological i mean almost to be expected given what were living through right now joining us is dr lisa palmer she specializes in psychotherapy at the renew center out of boca raton florida my stompin grounds as i like to say dr lisa thanks so much for join. Take us what is your take as you watch those videos are you looking at that and thinking you know there cant help but be some frustrations among the american amongst americans right now there absolutely is frustration theres no question about it we have a few problems big problems the economy being what it. Is you know over 30000000. 00 americans lie or unemployment and so theyre willing to wait at that and the pressure the financial strain is causing a lot of trauma. In addition to that issue of loneliness thats been created by this forest isolation and so thats putting a lot of pressure on but i imagine theres a difference between the loneliness that someone feels whos getting their full paycheck while sitting there watching netflix all the time and maybe complain because their back yard isnt big enough and whats really being felt by those who dont have work have lost their jobs arent sure theyre ever going to be able to work again and are wondering how the hell theyre going to be able to feed their kids in the future. Absolutely no question about it is scary thought if you dont have savings what the heck do you do you might end up homeless thats a reality for a lot of americans who are wondering if they can work if theyre going to be hired of go back to their jobs if their current jobs are going to let them go in for how long its going to last i know that ive had a couple of friends that have to take paycheck and theyre worried about it and for those people that are are well theyre wondering when they can get started in when the economy is going to get going again so they can bring in business its a real dilemma for sure one of the most important things in life i think and im not a psycho therapist but that we all have to have some kind of vision in our head some kind of plan some kind of a light at the end of the tunnel but it seems like were living during a time when between our leadership and the media and the disparity of direction its kind of hard to find our way is that part of what were suffering from as well or is that part of the cause. You raise a really good point because this is definitely a time of scarcity on many levels and what we really need is an attitude on dense during this time a scarcity which is difficult for a lot of people but as i like to say your wealth comes from within you know so we can utilize this time to align with faith and love and really try to utilize our resources and our friendships and our support systems to grow within ourselves and build our skills so that when the economy gets us going again we can bring a stronger or greater version of our stuff and make things happen but we definitely have to have an attitude of abundance to be able to get through these tough times when do you know when you probably should pick up the phone and call a therapist because youre kind of getting over the edges era and were down to 20 seconds what is there is there a critical moment for most americans or maybe listening now absolutely i think that if youre having a lot of difficulty sleeping insomnia or turning to negative ways of coping alcohol and drug abuse its definitely time so its a pick up the phone and say get help and now is the time to do it because theres a lot of Mental Health providers that are doing tele health and so its a really good time to take you know take advantage of that opportunity dr lisa palmer from boca as we say down there in florida thank you doctor we certainly appreciate your time. Today there are more questions about the conviction of former Trump National security advisor Michael Flynn flynn who was a u. S. Army general was found guilty of lying to investigators but now there are new handwritten documents that have been uncovered and they reveal just how zealous the governments attorneys were in trying to convict him i want to read you part of one of the notes thats being talked about one note says what is our goal truth and admission or to get him to lie so we can prosecute him or get him fired now heres the question as i read that to you is that an honest question over motivation or the u. S. Attorneys proposed strategy which you know sometimes they ask or is it something more nefarious as some are suggesting is that a sign that the government was directly attempting to entrap him they were trying to catch him set him up so to speak right thats what the Legal Definition of entrapment describes joining us now and martin these are conservative radio host who believe the government may have overstepped its mandate in part of this investigation so lets get to it do you think this that i just read in particular is a smoking gun against the government. Well im not sure that the specific fact you describe is the smoking gun i think we have now a totality of of evidence here and and to be a little clearer rick and its very important to do this general flynn was not convicted he pled guilty based on what was presented to him by the prosecutors and now what we have discovered is the prosecutors themselves in a review of their case have turned back over to flynn whats called exculpatory evidence you know we have a history its important for a conservative like me to be heard arguing for something that sounds a little bit more like the a. C. L. U. We have a system where prosecutors are bullies and you have therefore we have brady v maryland 1963 Supreme Court case which says you got to show your cards because you have more of an advantage over your opponent so now we have too much evidence of flynn being put in a position where he was where he was misled and his and his son was put on the hot seat they said were going to put your son away if you dont plea to something so he took a minor deal and let me point this all the way back rick to the beginning of your show and i appreciate the opening you know what happened in the russia hoax the moller russia hoax was guys like comi laughed about the fact that they were putting flynn in a ringer getting him in a hot seat and thats whats coming out now and i think the American People need to see the bottom of this deep and dirty well where were fine and some of this information let me push back on you a little bit a lot of people wouldnt watch it of conversation that you are having and theyd say well then why do you plead guilty i mean the moment that you had a i did it i was guilty you cant come back later and say you know what ive changed my mind and a lot of people are going to be asking that question it. No youre exactly right i think thats always been one of the stumbling blocks when he signed the paperwork that he was saying he pled to this count of lying to the f. B. I. But now what the facts are is that he fired his lawyers by the way in the middle of this splendid and it turns out it looks like his 1st lawyers were in the swamp in this deal too and sort of saying hey this is the best you can hope for and split even said i didnt remember what youre telling me that i lied about but ill take that deal and look im not saying its perfect for him i am saying that there is or there is a responsibility of the prosecutors look we now have evidence that struck the f. B. I. Guy in charge of this was sending a text saying dont close the case we found no of of him talking to the russians but lets see if we could do Something Else they were looking for a crime to pin on flynn i had forgotten how much i enjoyed talking to you. Great to see a man ok well good for barton youre a fantastic guest mark conversation my thanks to you theres a new study that has revealed organic molecules in a well known meteorite for mars and most of you are going what so what we want to do is try to break down for you like in the Building Blocks of life because thats really what this is about when it comes to the red planet here is our Team Correspondent natasha sweet. Organic molecules are the backbone of all life on earth although they can also come from nonliving sources today the surface of mars destroys organics making them difficult to detect but through advanced Technology Scientists are continually making new discoveries on the red planet most recently scientists looked at mars in a different way exposing organic molecules and nitrogen the study published in the Journal Nature Communications was conducted by researchers at the institute of space an astronomical science at the Japan AerospaceExploration Agency scientists utilize an advanced form of an x. Ray known as spectroscopy. This enabled them to discover nitrogen in a famous mars meteorite called allen hills 84001 which was found in antarctica back in 1984 nitrogen an ingredient that life on earth depends on was found along with carbonate materials usually formed in groundwater researchers within the studies say this lead them to believe mars was not only wet that potentially habitable in the past Scientists Say its possible no one had found these nature didnt contain organics in the rock before because the organics were trapped in the carbonate believed to be some 4000000000 years old however organics themselves do not provide sure evidence for life on mars and a statement one of the study authors said quote there are 2 main possibilities either they came from outside mars or they formed on mars this groundbreaking study is one of many to come now says mars 2020 rover perseverance is set to launch in july the mission include searching for signs of ancient organisms on the red planet and collecting samples researchers estimate those samples should make their way back to earth into the hands of scientists by 2031 reporting for the news with rick sanchez and sweet.
